I'm going to be on hiatus late-Feb until late June  (due to studies/exams)

Which means I won't be that active here when the girls are back. I was really hoping for a Jan comeback to be honest.

You guys have fun without me,

Good luck!

Can we take a moment  to appreciate how in every SM-anything related article recently no matter the news , there's thirsty as fuck sones

everywhere angrily demanding a comeback and basking in SNSD's divineness at the same time  , even sometimes #justiceforfx.

I find it so entertaining , this is becoming my fave past time kpop-thing activity while waiting ..what am I even doing lol

Has this happened to any idols before? Look at that Soshi power tho SM .

It's happened for 2NE1/Big Bang on YG articles. But, that's to be expected. YG never follows through with its plans.

I think fans have given up lol

It's probably for having to call Sooyoung "unnie" eventhough they are same age friends when she began as a trainee.

She doesn't have any resentment for that.

see: Translator’s note: In this case, “friend†means that Yuri did not refer to Hyoyeon with “unnie†since the two were born in the same year. This is referencing the previous replies where Yuri said she called Jessica and Sooyoung “unnie†despite being born in the same year as Jessica and in the year before Sooyoung.

Yeah but she said something about one and two and yulsic... It was random

That translator's note was about Hyo.

Am I just reading this wrong?

I thought up an interesting question to ask the girls. You know how in their debut, they had "slogans" like "I am SNSD's leader Taeyeon!" or "I am SNSD's energy pill Sunny"? I wonder what each member would pick as another member that best fits their own slogan. So who does Taeyeon think would make the best leader other than herself? Who does Sunny think is the energy pill / mood maker of the group? Who does Tiffany think out of SNSD is brighter than mushrooms? etc

Or does that slogan still fit them presently/What slogan would each girl use for herself now?

A lot of the answers were joke answers, though. I think Sunny said she was the group's male, and Seohyun represented determination. And Yuri changed hers from "black pearl" to "chocolate milk". lol

lol

I can't find it but of course they would give joke answers.

They'd probably only answer it seriously if asked in a magazine interview. They tend to give

more mature answers in magazine interviews.

wut

i'm not saying this isn't great

i'm just saying it's stupid if this teaser has nothing to do with the final mv and it's like sm did with f(x) art video and then released RPPP

Oh what I mean is, I wouldn't mind a mini album/MV

that's different from the teaser if it's of Pink Tape quality.

I'd be okay with a misleading teaser.

I suddenly remember Seohyun 24 hands sign and Tiff IGAB part improvisation with 24 too on one of new year end broadcast......

Well isn't that when their album was originally supposed to come out?

The MV was supposed to come out the 19th and the album would come out the 24th, right?

i knew it happened, but i dont know why it happened? do you know why?

Honestly, I don't think anyone knows the exact reason.

Some cite fangirl jealousy because SNSD was close to boy group members (mainly suju and dbsk)

Others say, Suju fans started it because they were upset Tiffany said SNSD don't do subunits because

SNSD is "one" (and they took that to somehow mean Suju isn't). Some also say it was because certain

members (Jessica and Tiffany) were rude to seniors and needed to be taught a lesson.

There were also wildly blown out of proportion rumors of fighting and violence between sone and elf. So

some say it was never about SNSD but other fandoms trying to put sone in their place and their way of doing

it was to hurt SNSD.

I don't think we'll ever really know what compelled each and every person who turned off their lightstick to do so.

It could've possibly just been them following like sheep.

None of these rumors of course excuse what they did because it's just rude and insensitive to do that to a performer.

Dude there are videos from the ELF sections where fanclub leaders are going around with big written signs and megaphones etc clearly telling everyone about the protest.

It was very much pre-planned vs SNSD by crazy fangirls from DBSK and SUJU. And it's fucking pathetic the dumb reasons they made up afterwards to try to justify their actions.

Okay, but I mainly said that because I don't know what compelled Wonderfuls and Triple S to do it because they

honestly had no reason to. Why should they listen to ELF and Cassies if it's not their fight. So i said they were probably just following like sheep because so many others seemed to be doing it.

Nickname given to Jessica I’ve heard that the name came from Chinese sones. As Jessica used to have blonde hair, her trademark, so Chinese sones called her “Xiao jin mao (little blonde hair)â€. But later on, her hair ain’t blonde anymore, so it sort of changed to maomao. In Chinese characters, mao can be cat(kitty) or hair, so I believe now the name maomao is like “kitty kittyâ€, means that Jessica is cute like a kitty

she is :)

found this when googling ...

Why are they called royal family?

Not sure why you were negged when you only asked a question. Granted, it was a shipping question.

I always thought it stemmed from Jessica's "Ice Princess" nickname but I'm not positive.

Okay, I understand that there is a cultural difference but that doesn't make their line of thinking "right" just because they "support" SNSD in more ways than I-sones. If we could, we would. Honestly, I do feel like they're overreacting because Taeyeon has given them so much over the years and they turn their backs on her because she subtly hinted at her happiness and her relationship. Yes, she did so on a medium that she said was to communicate with fans but so what? Let's look at ALL her posts--both pictures and comments--and lets truly calculate what percentage of her posts were dedicated to her fans vs. Baekhyun. I'm sure you'll find that for the most part, it has been a way for her to communicate with fans. And seriously, they feel misled? By what? That Taeyeon is lonely and depressed and would stay single forever? Grow up. These same fans took cryptic messages about her loneliness and never once demanded an answer for why she felt like that. Instead they were supportive and told her to stay strong. She essentially did the same with her relationship. She used cryptic messages to talk about her relationship and her happiness without giving too much of her life away (because she is a private person and is allowed to keep some of her privacy, esp given how idol fans respond to relationships). And at this fans feel "betrayed"? Those saying that she made fans worry about her being depressed when she was actually in a relationship act like depression and feelings of loneliness (particularly brought on by fame and stardom) go away with a relationship.

And I guess this is cultural, but I for one believe that her Instagram account is hers to do what she pleases with it (there are limitations because people look up to her but Taeyeon has never done anything morally wrong). I think fans should've always regarded it as a privilege that she would share it with us because signs point to the fact that she initially hadn't thought to share it. And some of you guys act like it's not part of K-sone possessiveness -- which we shouldn't encourage just because it's part of their idol culture. Remember when some K-sones commented on her Instagram asking her why she would get an sns just to communicate with international fans? They clearly think that because they helped out in SNSD's careers they somehow own them. It should be clear to them that they CHOSE to do all of these things with their free time. Sure you should expect some stuff from your bias group like quality and such but to expect them to use sns the way you want them to--that just sounds oppressive and ridiculous.

Last thing: Taeyeon probably wasn't forthright about her relationship because she probably knew it wouldn't be easily accepted as Yoona's, Sooyoung's, Hyoyeon's and Tiffany's relationships. How many of us have joked that the fandom would implode if Taeyeon was dating? I'm sure she knew the general sentiment of her fans and that's why she wasn't forthcoming about her relationship but still wanted to share her general happiness. Then again, this is just my opinion.
