Oh yes, that is why Girls' Generation I - The First Japanese Album's lifetime sales were higher than that of the AKB48 album, also released in 2011.

Did the girls really sell 3m+ & 6m+ in digital sales for "Dancing Queen" & "I Got A Boy" respectively? 

 

Those were the Gaon figures provided for the mid-year charts but Gaon was all over the show during the middle of the year.

 

The actual figures are just under 1.4 million for IGAB and 1 million for Dancing Queen, although DQ was released in 2012 and was subject to lower download prices resulting in the minimal gap between the sales of the two songs.

Since 2013 will end in a few weeks, I wanted to know: What's your favorite SNSD moment for the past year?

 

As for me, when "Social Network Shidae" happened. A few years back, we SONEs were contented seeing them upload pics from their official UFO account and answering some questions there as well. It was like that until Taeyeon broke the status quo back in March 2013 when she created her Instagram account.

 

At first, we suspected her that it was a fake account or some people leaked pics from it until she verified it herself a few hours later. It marked a new chapter for her and the rest of the group. Soon, Yuri, Sunny, and Hyoyeon created their own IG's as well w/ Sunny finally activating her twitter account.

 

Then there's Jessica. The Ice Princess turned heads when she joined Weibo. Finally, Seohyun joined the world of Twitter after the group won the YTMA's Music Video of the Year for "I Got A Boy".

 

I know there's still time left in the year and some of the best things are yet to come, (Marchen Fantasy, all the Gayo performance, etc) but for me, having them connected with us fans is my favorite moment of 2013.

 

P.S. I'm still hoping Tiffany will make an Instagram account so she can stop snatching Taeyeon's phone and use it lol

This should have been the second Japanese album, released early 2013.

 

It has a clear musical direction - electro pop - with a minor deviations which are integrated into the album. Electronic mid-tempo, ballad-esque Karma Butterfly followed by AMLIFY, a ballad-esque track with a less electronic sound. This followed by Lips, an R&B like track, Boomerang, a track also devoid of blaring synths and I'm A Diamond which finalises this deviation from the sound while acting as a prelude for the continuation of the electronic sound of Animal, both up-tempo tracks etc etc blah blah blah

 

Worth noting that an album track listing combines what all branches of the SNSD fandom want under a common sound, creating a good album.

 

The inclusion of bonus tracks would add another addition from the normal track listing, milking more $$$ off fans, the common goal of every music cooperation. Plus, these are probably the weakest tracks on the album.
