Dunno if this is reliable: source A technical error forced Girls’ Generation to delay the release of the its new single “Mr. Mr.†and its new album just days before their releases. 

“When we were editing the video, we learned that some of the important data in the music video had been deleted,†said the group’s agency, SM Entertainment. 

The new single was supposed to be released Feb. 19 through online music stores, but it has been rescheduled for Feb. 24. 

“The music video is one of the most important parts of promoting the new mini-album, so in order to ensure a better result, we decided to rearrange the girls’ schedule,†SM added.

 

 Am I the only one who doesn't want SNSD and 2NE1 to face off with one another? Even though before they were supposed to be five days apart. If it's in English I doubt it's reliable but who knows.

Well I've noticed that Hyo has been more confident of herself and less shy after she started to transition to blonde during Hoot. I just want her to try a light brown. Something new and fresh. Something in between honey blonde and dark brown. The sooner the better because you see all of these idols going back to their natural hair colors. Dara from 2NE1's was falling out from all of the bleaching.

 

I'm pretty sure the main problem was her eyebrows. Now that they are shaped I think she could start to transition into a darker color but not too dark.

Imo The best thing to do would be to upload the MV online on February 28th (or March 7th) without any digital release, and then put everything on sale on March 3rd (or March 10th).

I think this is a good idea but people might get anxious for the digital single release and might resort to downloading before it even comes out.

 

I'd say MV release on March 9th (so it will be a special b-day for Taeng) and everything else on March 10th because it will be a Monday which will benefit them on the charts.

Since I'm really bored and I want to do something productive while desperately waiting for this comeback I have a question for you all. How did you first get into SNSD? And what's your favorite aspect from them?

Even though I was a hardcore blackjack at first (I still am for the most part) I got into them through their Japanese releases specifically Flower Power and AMLIFY and when I heard the full G&P album I was sold. Literally everyone was my bias and I would change alot. I made sure to fully know all about them before considering myself as a fan. Watching their old variety shows were the best part.

I knew kpop for a pretty long time since 2007 because my relatives showed some songs like Haru Haru and Nobody to me, but I really wasn't interested since I was pretty young back then. XD Then, in late 2009 I stumbled upon Genie and Gee since I slowly started getting interested in them, and I thought "Wow, they have some really catchy songs I should check out some more stuff." Next thing I know, I started watching all their old MVs, listening to their discography, and watching all their old variety shows and it just snowballed from there that I became a fan. Also, became a huge fan of Tiffany through Hello Baby. Even though my fangirling has significantly mellowed out, they're still my number one group and and I look to anything they do.~ Favorite aspect of them would be their music since I like a huge portion of their discography, even though their music was alright 2013. 

 

This is the most I've ever written on OH. lmao

So tbh I'm expecting MV release on March 9th. Physical/digital album release on March 10th which is also a Monday. February didn't seem like it was going to work out either way.

 

Actually an MV on a Sunday doesn't sound feasible. Might as well release everything on the 10th. By then Soyou and Jungiggo will have their goodbye stage.

Question: I read that post on 1H about SoyouxJunggios collab hitting about 35 roof hits and I wanted to know what was SNSDs? I have a vague understanding on how roof hits are but since I have never been interested in keeping track I have no idea what SNSDs were.

Well actually Soyou and blah beat the record for roof hits by a collab yesterday. They have somewhere around 43 roof hits now. SNSD's must have been less than 10, but I'm not sure.

And you don't understand that this will damage SNSD in every way you mentioned if SM decides to wait.

 

They will get terrible press if they song ends up flopping just because everyone on Earth already has an illegal copy of the album, especially if they get compared to smaller acts that happen to do better. How about SNSD being associated to "flop" or "beaten by X" ? Talk about impression and memory people have of SNSD after that.

 

SM may not be selling music primarily but SNSD is a music group and their chart performances determine their position in that field. They can't afford to have a "so-so" response that will affect SNSD's reputation if they want to keep selling everything the SNSD "brand" has to sell besides music. It's not only about money, it's about SNSD's image and their reputation as a whole, which can't be differentiated from the success of their Korean releases and how much they sell.

 

Unless, as I said at the end of my post, SM gets extra careful and quash everything mentioning the leak in the Korean press so that the general public doesn't hear about it. It could work. But seeing how they messed up SNSD's comeback back and forth, I don't trust them anymore.

IGAB already got a "so-so" response but it still sold well. This is the problem with SM they don't try to give SNSD catchy and public-friendly songs anymore because they know that they will sell well regardless. Their image won't change. Their music is the problem the last releases haven't been public friendly. People are expecting less of their releases. As for the mini-album the songs are better than the IGAB album.

I thought we all have the freedom of speech or maybe I'm living in another world? Didn't know artists threads exit for us to only say nice things. I thought they exist for us to share our opinions. No matter if they're negative or positive. Am I bashing Taeny? Did I say a bad thing about that? Oh, and the thing is. Taeny singing most of the tracks is not even an opinion, it's a fact. Everyone with a working pair of ears can confirm it, no?

 

If I wanted to stir shit I would make a thread just like those embarrassing people who supposedly do not care about Girls Generation. I would also throw a rude comment doubting Taeny's vocal abilities. Am I doing it? No, so what exactly is your problem?

This is the problem with artist threads in OneHallyu.
