Just finished reading the Vine article, (thanks ajumma!) and it's the only one I've seen so far that even mentions the YTMA numbers.  They still don't have some of them right, though.  According to Harkables, GG got 3, 375,069 votes, which Vine has correctly, but then they said that figure equaled three times 1D's.  The reality is, 1D got 155,641 votes, so IGAB got more than TWENTY-ONE TIMES the 1D total.  That means the fan-roar that got Vine interested in writing about it to begin with is about SEVEN TIMES LARGER than Vine thinks it is lol.

The Grammys site isn't loading completely for me, but from what parts of it do, it looks like the rules limit voters (and/or nominees?) to "U.S. legal residents," and maybe that at some point one of the band members has to nominate the band as well?  If somebody can clarify that anyone can vote and be nominated, then it might be another good exercise of our voting fingers!

BTW, for anyone not already over it, I posted a long (and strange,) rant about the YTMA numbers near the bottom of page 1 of this thread:

http://onehallyu.com/index.php?/topic/29989-the-thing-i-want-from-snsd-ytma-win/

-too long and strange, IMHO, for a post to my beloved SNSD thread.  The basic thesis of it, though, is that global SONEs may be waaaay more numerous (and powerful,) than anybody thinks right now.  Anyway, I can mod an updated, post-Vine article, stripped-down version of it and put it up it here for y'all if there's any interest, (above the inevitable raised eyebrows, of course.)

And most important, HIHIHI Everybody!  This is my first post to SNSD, my beloved home thread.  Taeyeon is my bias, but I'm all about the Power of 9 too.  I've been a SONE since about 2009, and got to spend most of 2010 in Korea, too.  (Didn't get to see the girls, sigh, but did get to see BEG's ABRACADABRA tour.)  Even though I've been lurking since Hallyu8 days, I've somehow managed to be good and spare you all my endless yammering- until now.

You guys are the best, (and I'm especially lookin' a'chu, Lenalee and VedaSONE, please don't go!) It's thanks to you international SONEs right here that I can fan out at all.  And I'm out of the woodwork now because I think it's your votes that made the difference, and these days I feel our fandom suddenly has a real shot at preparing the ground for WORLD DOMINATION!

So you really have no-one to blame but yourselves for finally luring my opinionated, verbose ass in.  Still, you have both my apologies and my sympathies, in advance.

Go Soshi go!  Fighting!

From the Grammy's site:

Submission:

Recording Academy members and record companies enter recordings and music videos released during the eligibility year which they consider worthy of recognition in the GRAMMY Awards process.

Screening:

Reviewing sessions by more than 150 experts in various fields are held to ensure that entered recordings meet specific qualifications and have been placed in appropriate fields such as Rock, R&B, Jazz, Country, Gospel, New Age, Rap, Classical and Latin, among others. The purpose of screenings is not to make artistic or technical judgments about the recordings, but rather to make sure that each entry is eligible and placed in its proper category.

Nominations:

First-round ballots are sent to voting members in good dues standing. To help ensure the quality of the voting, members are directed to vote only in their areas of expertise; they may vote in up to 20 categories in the genre fields plus the four categories of the General Field (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist.) Ballots are tabulated by the independent accounting firm of Deloitte.

Final Voting:

Final-round ballots are sent to voting members in good dues standing. The finalists determined by the special nominating committees are also included in this ballot. In this final round, Recording Academy members may vote in up to 20 categories in the genre fields plus the four categories of the General Field (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist.) Ballots again are tabulated by the independent accounting firm of Deloitte.

EDIT: Oh you meant the contest. The site is up and running. And from what I understood, you have to be an US citizen as well as a member, or affiliated in an official way, to the band. Once the nomination goes through then the 3 judges select the top 40. Then America votes on the rest. So if somehow Soyuri was able to nominate them, or if Sica of Jess nominate the group [assuming they both haven't given up their citizenship] and they pass the judges voting into the top 40, then we might be seeing them in this contest.

Man I LOVE Gossip Girls so much. They BETTER werk the hell out of that choreography for the upcoming tour......I want some epic hairography, some intense staring, intricate hand and footwork, etc. ya'll know what I mean. This song is way too epic and sexy to have another " I'm a Diamond" mishap. And Flyers is giving me so much life. Ah such a great day so far.

Got this from a friend:

Yoonaya drama support part 2
YoonA photo from 'Prime Minister & I' was placed on the shopping trolleys of 3 top branches of Korea's largest supermarket E-Mart. This promotion will last from 6 Dec 2013 to 5 Jan 2014 (a whole month support) targeting the housewives who are the main shoppers in supermarkets and also who made up most % of korea's viewership.

I know but that drama Yoon Ah is in gets subbed so fast like lighting fast but the other drama (empress Ki) I'm watching takes so long to be subbed though (kinda sad) but at least I still have 2 episodes to catch up on Yoon Ah drama.

that I have to agree with your point but it shows how much work that they did and how they climbed so far up, I look up to them so much for how they accomplished so much after getting bash and hurt . Now they are the biggest girl group (I'm not sure if they are big within Western countries as people in my place tend to not like K-pop unless its PSY. Love all 9 of them so much.

Random question do any of you guys like 9muses?

Yes!!!! My bias is Sera. I adore her. I also really like Eunji. Their music has been so on point since Ladies.
