Anyone remember the Haptic commercials that SNSD did with DB5K in 2008? I finally decided to watch them and I'm rolling on the floor laughing. Lawd, the girls were so cute. So cute. (Also, they use Himnae, with different lyrics...)

Putting my tldrs about stalker fans into spoilers:

 

The girls already know that crazy stalkers/creepy fanfics/sexually explicit fanart come with the territory of being famous AND maintaining that fame, and so they're gracious and indulgent enough to let them be. They really do mean it when they say they love and appreciate SONEs. However, when that indulgence drives us fans to fool ourselves into thinking we are closer to them than we really are, and that their indulgence allows us to think we have some right to their personal life, that's where trouble happens. 

 

Take a page from the fansite unnirs as much as I resent them lol -- there's a reason they can get close to the girls the way some I-SONEs often wish they could. Other than being Korean and female and in the same country (lol), they usually remain behind their cameras (remember the ITNW concert video where Jessica talked about one of her fansite unnirs who never approached her?) and take care not to frighten the girls if/when they do approach them. The girls repay them with special "fanservice". Every fan, should they have the privilege of meeting SNSD, should, as Auratus said, take care NOT to frighten them, whether you are boy, girl, or black poodle puppy. That's the key.

Personally, I think some (not all) of the girls find fanfic amusing and probably even flattering. (Hell, the members gave Seolady TWO copies of 50 Shades of Crap -- one from Yoong and one from Tippany -- they know what bondage smuts are.) The eternal question then becomes: when does a fanfic stop being fun and games and starts becoming uncomfortably creepy?

It seems to me like marmalade has fallen out of fashion, at least where I live. My dad used to eat it every morning with his toast when I was young, that's how I know it existed lol. Also it's Paddington Bear's fave...did I just date myself?

Love this. No way that's coincidence though. New World Symphony is super famous, especially the 4th movement. There is no way Kenzie didn't do that on purpose. It actually makes me really respect her for putting that in, it was genius. And then to call the song Into the New World...just wow.
