Raise your hand if, when the track list was out and judging from most of the JPN releases so far in 2013, you thought L&P wasn't going to a good album. *Sili doesnt raise hand cos he has no hands*

Boy was that a premature assumption huh? lol

 

L&P is a great album. The 6 non-promoted songs are really good and hark back to the super sonic electric sound of their 1st JPN album, which is always a plus in my book.

 

My personal rank of the songs:

 

Everyday love > Flyers > Galaxy Supernova > Karma Butterfly >Lips > My Oh My > Gossip Girls > Lingua Franca > Motorcyle > Beep Beep > Love and Girls > Do the catwalk

 

Plus I'm loving the party theme that the album has going with the posters Taeyeon has spider embroided gloves......which other poster has a spider related signature????, pictures and even the badges. Come to think of it, this album would be a smash at a party.......clever idea UMJ......you win 1 point

Youtube releases list of top ten most viewed kpop MVs
 
On December 10, YouTube released a list entitled 'K-Pop Music Video Top 10,' which was comprised of the ten most viewed K-Pop MVs on YouTube from December 2012 to November 2013. 
 
Psy's "Gentleman" ranked in first place with approximately 600 million views since its release in April!  It had also been named the number one viral video of 2013 by TIME magazine.  Girls' Generation's "I Got A Boy" came in second, which is not surprising considering it won 'Video of the Year' at the 'YouTube Music Awards' in November.
 
However, that is not all.  Girls' Generation made the list two more times with "Dancing Queen" and "Galaxy Supernova" in fifth and sixth place respectively, although the latter was a Japanese release. 
 
EXO made the list twice, coming in third with "Growl" and fourth with "Wolf."  F(x)'s "Rum Pum Pum Pum" came in seventh place, Super Junior-M's "Break Down" in eighth, 2NE1's "Falling In Love" in ninth, and 4minute's "What's Your Name?" in tenth.
 
In the list of top ten most viewed videos produced and shared by Korean YouTube users, dance team Waveya's dance covers of Psy's "Gentleman" and Girls' Generation's "I Got A Boy" came in first and third place respectively.  In other news, many Korean label and entertainment channels were reported to have made the list of the most popular channels on YouTube, including SM Entertainment, Big Bang, Mnet, MBC K-Pop, and many more.

Damn SNSD rocked it with IGAB!

Not only that they managed to rank on 2013 with Dancing Queen - an MV from 2012, filmed in 2008

AND a Japanese release (with a poor quality video).

On related news, seeing as SNSD are making a Korean return and going by their last Korean comeback youtube is once again gonna be at Soshi's whims, their songs, while Korean, would still be released on iTunes world wide and since US Billboard has included YT views into its ranking criteria, is it hypothetically possible that SNSD could rank (high) on US Billboard?

I swear Japan gets all the best things ever: better toys, games, technology, and even SNSD! Yet they're psudeo banning them and other kpop groups for no real reason other than national pride -_-

 

The girls look like they're having a blast over there in Japan and Universal and the fans are really into it. Oh and  no lie, I even spazzed like a fan girl when I saw Endo emerge with the girls for their free concert (Anyone have footage of that?)

A few pages back, honeyed oasis asked for everyone's SNSD moment of the year. They had some great things like SNSD (get it? SNS.....SNSD? I saw you giggle....), YTMA, their whole IGAB explosion abroad and of course that short but oh so sweet IGAB promo cycle. There’s obviously a ton of impressive stuff they did both as a group and as individuals and if most other groups had even a couple of them, they'd probably be consider entire career highlights.

 

But this is my personal pick: Dream Concert 2013

 

 

 

 

 

What makes it awesome is that this was the same event where they were at their lowest, facing the black ocean of 2008. Yet here they are, the biggest group in Korea putting on one of the most iconic performances in kpop. They not only got to close what is one of Korea's biggest annual concerts, but just listen to that crowd! Thats not just Sones, but a whole stadium singing along with them. Dont tell me that didnt give you goosebumps.

Guys remember this time last year we were all anxiously waiting for the pre-release of Dancing Queen? It seems like only yesterday to me. I was soooo excited for the IGAB comeback! The wait was excruciatingly slow. I hope the girls have a Korean comeback soon the build up is half the fun of a comeback!

Same. I joined the old forum a month before their teaser and it was really fun with all the anticipation and spazzing with fellow Sones.

A little off topic random thought about Marchen Fantasy concert

 

 

I've been playing Final Fantasy 4 DS over the last few days and now everytime I see Marchen Fantasy, I immediately read it as Final Fantasy lol. But then that got me thinking, imagine the girls pulling off a FF concept. The females are generally either very feminine like Aeris or Yuna or have a hint of masculinity (like the rumour mentioned) to them like Tifa or Lightning - heck some of the males can be more feminine than masculine, even some bad guys like Sepiroth and Kuja are basically girls minus boobs lol.

I'd actually like to se a FF concept. I remember a while ago at a LV even Sica's hair reminded me of Lightning or some other anime that I had seen from ages ago but don't know the name of.

AH MAN! I woke up really late (and i mean really late lol) and missed the whole thing. Seems i missed one of the most greatest Soshi experiences ever lol.

Second, OMG!! Those performances were freaking awesome!! Not only did we get the usual SNSD slayage, who says Christmas cant be sexy, I mean:

About the Hyoyeon thing: I've already mentioned how I wish SM would be more consistent in promoting her. She had a huge year in 2012 and was even the psudo-poster girl for IGAB. Heck, I think she was featured the most on variety out of them all during IGAB promos (and very well received from the few knet articles i saw) and even had a dance show job.

 

But on the other hand, SM goes and does stuff like giving her 1 or 2 lines for nearly every song or not featuring her much during MVs or dances, even though she is the lead dancer - come of think of it, in Japanese MVs, Hyo has recently been getting a lot of screen time and is usually leading a good portion of a dance.

 

In this instance, I dunno if SM is to blame or if Hyo had no time or something (leaning towards SM lol but i'll give the benefit of the doubt for now) but one thing that annoys the fuck out of me are supposed "fans" wanting to what is essentially kick Hyo out of the group?! I mean why the heck would you want to send away your bias? Why not instead hope/petition/force SM to amp it up instead and keep Hyo with the people she likes and has known for practically her whole life?

 

But hypothetically speaking, if she went somewhere else, what guarantee is there that she'll be treated better - look at YG the 2nd biggest label, can you honestly say Minzy and Daesung, 2 people from from 2 of the biggest groups around, get anywhere near the same promo/activities as their label mates?
