On the night of July 1, Lee Hyori and Yoona briefly went live on Instagram while hanging out together at karaoke. However, their live broadcasts drew mixed feedback from viewers, some of whom expressed concern that the stars were not providing a good example of social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shortly after they went live, while perusing the comments, Lee Hyori asked, “Are we not supposed to go to karaoke?” Meanwhile, YoonA replied to concerned commenters by reassuring them, “We came wearing masks.” Not long afterwards, the two stars apologized and promised to return before ending their broadcasts early.

Yoona posted an apology regarding her Instagram Live broadcast with Lee Hyori. Her handwritten letter reads as follows:
