Today at Thailand B-ing filming site nearby, there are thai fan who met Taeng and talked to Taeyeon using some not very fluent korean.

(Seem like the fan learnt just for Taeyeon)

And Taeyeon replied the fans with Sawadeekap (which means Hello in Thai)

with both hands together and bow politely to the fans

The fan used phone to translate what they want to say to Korean

and ask Taeyeon "My Korean is lousy isn't it?"

In the end Taeyeon also used her phone to translate her words to thai

"No it isn't, how about you teach me thai?"

Taeyeon also took a photo with the fan.

I'm so confused....

So I just came back from school, hoping for some Galaxy Supenova news or Jessibo selca, but instead of those this happened.

I need some time to sort out my thoughts....

SSF released a rumour about TTS English album ---> Suddenly the whole fandom goes crazy ---> Album became Twinkle English version (which caused even more confusion on whether it's an album or a single) ---> Taeyeon commented on IG about the rumour of the album which did not help at all and she said smth about working on a current album but not deciding to tell what is it ---> SSF deleted tweet and news about the album ---> All there's left is pure confusion, arguments false hope.

Anyways my thought on the TTS English album/Twinkle :

Mixed feelings... First of all I'm really happy for TTS cuz they'ds getting activities again. Then again, what about the 6 others? Ever since the TTS debut, SM has been biased towards Taeyeon and Tiffany esp when it comes to their vocals, eg. poor distribution of lines in IGAB, Lost In Love and LA Anthem. (This are biased thoughts here) It's like they somehow forgot Jessica is the main vocalist. The last time I heard Jessica singing live solo was Someday on 1/1/2013 (except the OST). I feel SM takes Tiffany as the main vocalist nowadays. I love Tiffany's voice and at times I think she sings better than Taeyeon (in a way but not really lol). IDK if it's Jessica giving up on vocals herself (according to some she didn't want to be vocalist in the first place), but I really want to hear Jessica sing again... I love her mainly for her voice so I'm really disappointed. All she and other members do are photoshoots and endorsements which Tae and Tiff also participates in.

Coming back to the topic, I would be delighted if TTS actually do release the English album (though it's unfair to the others about gaining fame etc. I dun even want to talk about this UNFAIRNESS anymore it's so frustrating). I'll sincerely wish them the best. But SM should give something of equal to the other girls as well (except CFs which are pretty much basics) like sub-units, drama roles, permanent variety show positions etc.

(self-rant here) I have so much thoughts on my mind rn. So many things I want to make threads about and discuss, but I don't have the time for it. Tomorrow is my Trials exam before my Finals on Nov and I'll be graduating from high school. So I'll have to tune down on Soshi. So stressed rn urghhh.

THE SONG IS SOOOOOO CATCHY. I bet I can listen to it the whole week WITHOUT GETTING TIRED OF IT

I don't know why some here and on Twitter said the dance sucked. It was pretty good for me. It matched the song and the concept. Balanced between sexy and rhythmic. The dance also had a bit of Genie feel in it. It showcase their bodies like Genie did *nosebleed*

Jessica's adlib is the 2nd chorus

And what a great way to end it by having Tiffany The Red Bull hype up the song in the center

The Bad Side :

The outfits were... okay... Acceptable but not so special

Taeyeon's hair is the 2nd box... Weird.....

SM now considers Jessica only as a visual these days

She didn't even have a single normal line in the whole song. (Except one out of three vocal-adlibs along with Taeyeon and Tiffany) 3 really really awkward semi-raps/adlib

If you compare her lines with Minho's lines in SHINee, you probably won't notice much difference

She's meant to be a MAIN VOCALIST, not A RAPPER. Even other lead vocalist had more real lines than her.

AS USUAL very very disappointed

TBH I'm on the verge of giving up on Jessica's vocals. The only thing I can do to hear her voice now is her old OSTs and live performances and hope for more OSTs for her in the future.

Can never expect SM to give her lines especially in title tracks.

 

Can't really complain about the line distributions. Most part of the song were sang by all, that's why everyone seemed to have not too many solo lines. Plus they had 9 members.

I'm just upset about how Jessica was given semi rap instead of actual lines.

Overall : Loved this as a song for the whole group, but not for biases

Galaxy Supernova!! Love the dance, the song has to grow on me yet, but it is very catchy

About people complaining about Jessica's lines in this song, and well other jap songs, I think when it comes to japanese promotions, the accent when singing in jap has a big influence in the lines distribution, as you see:

 

Line distribution (aprox)

Taeyeon: 4 lines

Jessica: 3 (2 are english "raps")

Sunny: 2

Tiffany: 2

Hyoyeon: the eh eh part only

Yuri: 2 lines

Sooyoung: 4 lines

Yoona: the oh oh part only

Seohyun: 4 lines

 

This is only a quick estimate as I saw the video, and we know that when it comes to japanese Sooyoung and Seohyun are the best therefore have more lines, especially in GS for Sooyoung; Taeyeon's case we know why; the others have party equal lines except HY & YN that are considered the "weaker" vocals in SNSD.

 

So in my opinion (speculation as I am not japanese nor know japanese) I think that aside from vocal ability, the accent is an important factor when it comes to distribution of lines in japanese songs.

 

People should stop complaining about this, as they are 9, it is impossible for all to have a good amount of lines, and if one of the supporting vocals as in YR,SY,YN and HY to have a few more lines, one of the main vocals gotta give so.

Jessica-6 lines (still wondering why people are complaining so much, Taeyeon only has one more line than her)

 

Although there are a few things some are complaining about, I think there were other factors that make up for it. Life for Jessica's lack of musical lines, her english parts were awk but she gets to be at the front when she's doing them and it's still a line nonetheless. And her ad-libing is always something worth appreaciating imo.

Jessica's position is a Main Vocalist. As a Main Vocalist, she's supposed to have singing lines, not semi-rapping/talking lines. Apart from the 2nd chorus adlib, almost all her other lines in GS are negligible. Other than that 2 English line, she only really faint adlibs. Her 'adlibs' are also accompanied (or shadowed) by others bcuz those lines were supposed to be sang by all, and sounds like Sica just raised her voice to make it sound like her leading the part. According to my understanding (I'm not sure), that's what lead vocalist are supposed to do--- lead chorus lines, but she's the main vocalist. Main vocalist are supposed to get solo, I mean REAL solo lines and vocal adlibs, like Taeng's part in the beginning. Distinct, clear with only herself singing. But she didn't get any. Even Tiffany, Seohyun, Sunny had one or two lines of those. And they're only lead vocalists

To compensate with that, Jessica had more screen time and (so-called) raps. Isn't that what Yoona / Hyoyeon is supposed to do? As I mentioned earlier, these song are making her role more to being a visual type, not a main vocalist anymore. You can say she had a lot of adlibs no matter short or long, distinct or faint, or massive amount of screen time (not that I'm complaining ) but she didn't have one single real line solo as a main vocalist.

That's why people who like Jessica mainly because of her voice are upset. We want to hear her sing, not rap, nor we (or at least me) want her to sacrifice lines for screen time.

Oh wells I've alrd half-accepted the fact that SM doesn't care much about her vocals anymore. Besides the song is great. I'm not satisfied as a Gorjess Spazzer, but I'm happy as a SONE

Kinda surprised this doesn't have more views. It's considered one of their best songs by many, mabye even me included.

It's released when YouTube wasn't too popular, and the internet wasn't as well-established as the present. Eg. BoA's Inuyasha ending 'Every Heart' was one of the greatest hits in that era but it had much less views than ITNW on YT.

If it was released now the views could have surpassed 70mil in no time
