On a random hot Saturday of July. Tiffany who has no makeup on greeted us with her clean smile and gentle voice in the work studio. “I am attracted by this the moment i lay my eyes on, so i save the pictures of the clothes in my phone. Extremely pretty isn’t it?†Tiffany who was happy like a teenage girl looking through the clothes hanging in the work studio, unknowingly our quiet work studio is filled with laughter.

 

SNSD & TTS 

TTS has planned to make a comeback this year. In order to provide fans with better songs, TTS put in a lot of effort for their 2nd album. TTS and SNSD both have different charms. First of all in TTS, Taeyeon and Seohyun are chingu who are more quiet, so in the waiting room the atmosphere will be quieter (Laugh). So before going up on stage, the feeling is more nervous and more focused? If we say that SNSD’s focus is the song track and the performance overall, then TTS’s focus in more on singing ability.

 

The icon of optimism
Among SNSD members, i think i am the first in terms of readiness. Not only in work, Fashion or Beauty, Exercise, body management, even when it comes to nailcare i will also prepare for them beforehand. For everything, there are ways for me to express myself. Because for me i cannot tolerate any embarrassment, so i am the kind that will totally prepare myself fully. My motto is “If there is no way to avoid then enjoy itâ€. During events, infront of the photo wall i will also embrace the thinking of “Just exude my charms freely hereâ€, and enjoy every situation happily. For example, if it is a event related to shoes, then i will do a cute pose without covering my shoes, if i need to do a cooler pose, then i will purposedly do a V-shape pose. Then the flashes from cameras will be even brighter. Everytime when i’m enjoying myself, i find that the photos will turn out pretty well.

 

Beauty Secret
I am someone who really maintain myself, early this year i started doing pilates and gyrotonic. Rather than trying to lose weight, I work harder more on getting the balance, and shaping my body. I will give my skin sufficient moisture, and as much as possible avoid eating fast food. Also, this is my beauty secret, i use different skincare in the day and night. In the day i will use whitening and moisture, and at night i will use anti-aging and nutrients replenishing ones.

New Challenge
I will like to work with Lee Hyori unnie. Hyori unnie also debut as a member of girlgroup, and she exists as a icon of a generation. Not only in music, she is also someone i want to learn from in terms of fashion. Not long ago, i attended a fashion show held in Seoul Fashion Week and met Hyori unnie. I told her, if there is a opportunity, lets work together, and she replied “Lets do it before it is too lateâ€. Whether its in music, pictorial, we must collaborate at least once. I should start pestering unnie right? If there is a chance, i will also like to try acting. I like Natalie Portman and Rachel McAdams, i wish to be like them, even frail but still is able to play a strong woman role. An actor that i wish to act with? Hmm.. even though he is unavailable now, but Lee Byun Hun sunbae? (Laugh) Whether if it is local production, or if there are suitable supporting role, i would also like to try acting a Hollywood film.

[140719] Eyebis Visit

So much happened today and I'm grateful for every little moment. If I was asked to do it again, without question and without fail, I would do it all again. Every minute of it.

It started out in nervousness. I was scared her parents wouldn't be in today, it thankfully, when I entered the store, it was bustling with umma, appa and Jiwoong oppa busy at work. I think this was the first time I spoke to Taeyeon's mother in Korean and holy I was nervous. But with a smile and encouraging words, she guided me and gave me the confidence I needed to present the huge box full of letters and also a bag filled with gifts. When I told her the letters came from countries and Sones all over the world, she was so surprised but the happiness in her eyes was unmasked. Her mom promised that she would give all of it to Taeyeon. Then she proceeded to tell me to look around the store while preparing refreshments of green tea.

After writing in the guest book in the Shrine, I got my eyes checked and contact lenses made by Taeyeon's brother. He told me he's been to Canada when he was in middle school (': and he wants to go visit again soon!

Then 2 Thai Sones came to visit, also bringing gifts. We were later joined by 4 k-sones and Ginger's brother, Bread xD when Taeyeon's parents had time, they would come in and sit with us and chat. Throughout this time, I felt the warmth from her mother. She looked out for each of us, asking if we wanted more cookies or tea. She played with Bread and cuddled him. And told us about Ginger and Prince, and their playdates. I felt the protectiveness of her father, a man who would forever see Taeyeon as his little girl. What made this visit so special was not the fact that I could see her parents again or even interact with other Sones, but the fact that I felt and saw the family-side of Taeyeon. She was not Kim Taeyeon the idol, the one praised and known for her musical talents. She was Kim Taeyeon the daughter, the one whom her parents worried wasn't getting enough sleep, food or rest. And it was absolutely beautiful to listen in and be apart of it all.

Before leaving the shop, as I went to say goodbye to Taeyeon's mom, she took my hand and shook it, just the way Taeyeon had done at the fanmeeting back in February: enclosing your hand inside her palms. I kept saying thank you for everything but she told me that it was her who should be thankful. At that moment, I saw the worry but gratefulness that was inside her eyes. And it could only stem from a mother's pure and unwavering love. She said thank you for coming all the way here and thank you for supporting Soshi and Taeyeon. She also wanted to ask me to pass on to all those who wrote a letter to Taeyeon "thank you very much." And before I walked out, she told me to come again soon.

Words cannot describe what a tight-knit and beautiful family they are. I will definitely visit again.

Interview:
Its been a long time since i can smile like this in a photoshoot. The past photoshoots required me to have a stricter expression. I felt satisfied to be able to take beautiful photos like this.
Must my hair be messy? Do i need to smile wider? It has been many years since my debut, but to me photoshoot is still a distant thing and troubled me as before.
Towards acting, i do not have the mindset of wanting to achieve success instantly, instead i want to earnestly take a step at a time and do well in every project. There will come a day when i will also be able to wear ‘Actress’ this outfit and carry it well right.
Often, i will strangely think of this place as Japan. Perhaps it is due to the calm and composed atmosphere. I also have this feeling when i do shoots in Japan. So today it seem that i am also able to go through this photoshoot slightly more relaxingly and freely.

-If ever you are to become another member, who would you choose? And why?

Taeyeon? Yoona or Sooyoung. Yoona and Sooyoung, no matter how much they eat they don't gain weight. I really envy that. When our work finishes late, as expected, don't you wanna eat by then. That time, whenever we eat together, I wonder why Yoona and Sooyoung doesn't gain weight and it's only me who does. That's why I want to be Sooyoung and Yoona. (laughs) Taeyeon because her and my positions(in the group) are different. As I dance, Taeyeon is up on the stage singing. One time, on the stage, I won't dance, I'll silently stand and sing. I think, 'How does that feel', if I sing a ballad like that, I wonder how it would feel, that's how I think of it. That's why I also think I want to be Taeyeon.

-Do you know any habits of other members?

Seohyun does throat exercise before going up on stage, that voice she makes is quite annoying/noisy (laughs). When we are doing our make up, she does it unconsciously with loud voice. She does it so she can a show a perfect image for everyone up on the stage, but for me, that scene is quite amusing (laughs).
 

[Trans] Hyoyeon after 10 years?

-After 10 years, you might not be a girl anymore, but what do you think how GG will be?

After 10 years, that's right. Maybe, my dream of studying dance more, might have been coming true at that time.Because dancing is another dream for me. But maybe around that age, I may have been married already, or if I married a little bit earlier, I don't know but maybe I'll also have a child by that time. But before that, I wanna make all the dreams, that I wanna do, come true, living a happy life.

 

 

 

[Trans] If Hyoyeon didn't become a Soshi member?

-If you weren't able to be a Girls Generation member, what would you be doing?

If I weren't a Girls' Generation member...? Ehhh~ I wonder what

Things you wanted to do as a child or if ever you didn't become a Girls' Generation, something that you wanted when you were a child, maybe you could have been this, something like that.

If I wasn't a Girls' Generation member... It's good to dream big (laughs). Maybe an international player for sports dance or, I'll be doing a (dance?) academy in a foreign country. I think I'll be doing something that is related to dancing.

 

[Trans] Hyoyeon and what she thinks about the sacrifices made as an artist

-'Comparing to other girls, my private life and my time, there are lots of things I've sacrificed.' What do you think about it?

Since during the start and up until half-way from our debut, our schedules were so busy, we can't even afford to think about it. But even if we are working, we are still enjoying that time. That and because the number of our member is alot, I was really happy. But whenever I don't have much work, I enjoy my time for myself but unlike the other people of my age, it's not that easy to go to different places. It is also the same with other members. But even with that, we still found different things to enjoy. Not only that, but when I say "I have members that will really stay by my side forever" is something that I think other girls don't have.

 

[Trans] What Hyoyeon is up to nowadays

-Something that you don't talk about to others, a thing that you like doing/addicted nowadays?

There is no need to hide it to other members (laughs) but since last year I've been learning, skiing, golf, and scuba diving. I even got license. From that, a little bit from the Inline Skating Club... I won't really call it a club but my friends and I gather to do it. Add as I continue with sports, I meet alot of various people and my hobbies widen. Instead of saying it is something I'm addicted to, I just like to do things that will make me move, as expected.

[Trans] What Hyoyeon does before going up the stage

-Something you don't talk about to anyone, a habit you love?

I love pressuring/cornering myself. Before going up on the stage, feeling so relaxed isn't good, I don't like it if I don't feel nervous. If I feel nervousness, it's like, I can grasp the feeling firmly. From the start up until the end, I am able to focus. But if I get distracted by a little, I think that I'll definitely have mistakes so I will always make myself feel nervous.

If you become a solo artist, what kind of music(work) you want to do?

(As a member of) Girls' Generation can't do this, hip hop that is a little bit sexy. Someone like Ciara. Or among the foreign artists, Rihanna. Something like that, hiphop elements and sexy parts are mixed together, Sexy Dance Singer... Wait, the name isn't that good, right (laughs) Hiphop Dance singer?

 

[Trans] Someone Hyo wants to meet

Is there a person(artist) that you want to meet right now?

A person I want to meet is, a person whom I can learn something from, a person I can learn dance from. It can be a Japanese dancer, or a dancer from New York, it can be anyone and anywhere from this world, to be able to receive an inspiration, and to be able to feel the energy (from that person), I wanna meet an amazing dancer like that.

To be able to do this performance who was your aspired artist? What kind of special impact did you receive?

BoA-oneesan. I really watched alot of her stages. The energy that comes from that little body, the seizing performance, where does that kind of energy comes from really, it was always a mystery. That's why I watched alot of BoA-unnie's concert footages or whenever she comes out on TV shows, I learned from that. The fingertips, or the facial expressions or the gestures. It was a learning experience.

Something you don't tell to anyone, a habit you love?

Is it called "Obsession with Cleanliness/OCD". I have this habit of lining up and cleanly making up the things inside my room.That thing was exposed to one of my member (laughs). And when going on a trip, I[m the type of bring anything and everything, and when we arrive at the hotel of our travel destination, I will line up all of my things, I will fold my clothes that I wore immediately, I will clean up the things I used right away. Since I am already expected to quickly gather my things like this, there is a member who I had been with on trip alot of times said, "That's weird, that's like OCD." That's why I said "Don't tell this to other members"

Who was that?

Yuri (laughs). When Yuri got days off, the two of us went to Europe, even if we go overseas we usually use rooms together. When we are in our house, there are lot more things there, and we also go out alot, so that's why we can't clean up that much. But if you look inside my bag, the things I bring is divided into different pouches. I can take it out immediately, and it's an ease of use. If I talk about this to a friend they might say, "No way, you?" but to the friends that know, they will say, "That really is OCD". It's embarrassing....

Something you don't tell to anyone, a thing you are addicted to nowadays?

Truthfully, if there is something I like, or things that I think is good, I'm the type of person to recommend it to the people around me. I want to tell it to other what I like to eat, like to see that's my attitude so I don't have secrets. Recently, I'm addicted to 'Amazing Spiderman'! I like Amazing spiderman's main characters couple line. That's why recently, I rewatcehd it and properly this time, and aslo AS 2 seems to opening soon, I am really anticiapating. And during the opening of the movie there are interviews of the casts right. Even up to that I'll firmly watch. I really like the heroine actress in it.

[Trans] Tiffany: Soshi is a family <3

When you quit GG now, what would you wanna do?

Ah that's right. Since I haven't thought about of wanting to quit this is difficult... Right now, Girls' Generation is already a family. When you say family, isn't it supposed to remain forever. That's why, since we have no means of quitting, the individual activities of each members in unlikely to be the main point. When I already have more time than now, when I got older, when I am already able to do other things I wasn't able to, when I am asked if there is something I want: a music I wanted to do but wasn't able to when I'm still soshi member, I want to show a side that I didn't manage to show everyone when I was still a soshi member. Like acting, something like that?

Since you've been doing activities in Japan already, number one memory?

It's the tour. The preparation for the tour, the 3-months tour, nonstop run through, the members and staff, we always make happy memories together. I am remembered of alot of things, also our sweats flowing during practices. And in the venues, meeting the fans is the happiest, everytime, it's enjoying.

How about private time?

As expected, food. Since I really like eating, at night I eat ramen, and during the morning I eat the specialty of that place. From that, Japanese desserts or sweets are alot aren't they. Whenever I come to Japan I always have meals and meals, up to desserts, I enjoy it. I also love shopping.

 

[Trans] Tiffany as solo artist

When you've become a solo artist what kind of music(work) you want to do?

Recently, this is the thing I'm most concerned about. Sometimes, I also want to do a solo activity, music I've been thinking of, I want to show the music that I am most confident in. It's R&B. ofcourse, the medium tempo ballads that were in our albums were also good. Like "Everyday Love". And if dance, I like "Karma Butterfly". It also matches my voice. Recently, I like songs of Bruno Mars, kind of old, cool and funky. Other than that, Katy Perry. Since she is a solo female singer, she is my role model. So fun her energy is overflowing, feel good songs.

 

[Trans] Artists Tiffany wants to meet

A person you want to meet right now?

Spiderman. I really like "Amazing Spiderman" (laughs). But if I say that someone might get mad at me, it feels like I can't go and like him, why you ask.. it's because the partner of him in the movie is his girlfriend. I like that couple. I wanna meet them both. And the musician I want to meet lately is Arianna Grande. Since I like her music and style, I wanna try to sing with her. I think she really is a cute singer.

 

[Trans] Tiff loves Katy Perry

The artist that aspired you to be able to perform this kind of productions? What were the special impact it had on you?

As expected it's Katy Perry. We both came from California. She has wit and eventhough is cute, and the unique music she thoroughly thought about is also good, she also does visual direction, she does things like this. I also want to be like that. When I watch her music videos, she uses alot of pink in it. Something like that, very cute, fun songs that will charge the audience up, I wanna do music like that.
