Reading all your recent posts.. I'm not even excited for the new songs anymore I'm more worried about sales and how public is gonna react. What a time to be Sone.

I'm still very excited for the album itself but the hype and anticipation for the actual CB is nonexistent for me. It feels like station release which is just sad. SNSD related CBs/debuts were big events in kpop with interest from other fans and media, now you got the biggest female idol around making a CB very soon and it's like "oh, Taeyeon is making a CB? When?". Sigh.

Ironically despite Tiffany being out of SM she's gonna have something closer to what we usually see in a SNSD related CB than a SNSD member still in SM

This world cup is crazy, I pretty much haven't paid much attention to much else (including work lol).

Liked Taeyeons' song, really cool and funky. But if I'm honest probably not up there with her previous title tracks. Her diversity is amazing though.

Now the real star of the show: THAT MV. Wtf was going on? Tae is a famous celeb as expected. Wait wait wait, shes a hired assassin? Fighting another assassin? Is this John Wick lol. Wonder whats in those cases. That's a nice collection, maybe she's like good guy assassin. Uhh she's throwing money off cliff and shooting them.... Now she's watching herself(?) run along the beach and we're back where we started.

My head.

The interesting thing is all the discussion generated about the MV. Some take it straight on, some try to come up with a plot relevant to the MV and ive seen lots have in depth theories about what it actually means - my personal idea that the baggage represents her baggage as an idol and her watching herself at the end is what she'd like to to do but the reality isnt like tgat hence her crying. It so awesome. One of my fave MV in kpop.

But I think we all know one thing - DONT MESS WITH TAEYEON

"I'm the greatest", b-side on the upcoming japanese single "Stay"

Really nice. Is there audio for stay?

I like the theory in this thread

and as I said in the Taeyeon thread, maybe this is why she couldn't hit the guy in the elevator - to show how she sometimes wants to strike back at the haters in equal force but doesn't/cant. Like with the maid who attacks her out of the blue and Taeyeon only defends and gives her a slap - and then the double standard the twitter theory talked about, how they seemed outraged over the slap like "how dare she talk back against the hate and death threats!!". It's similar to how some netizens reacted when she told that hater to "go look in a mirror."

Yeah basically what I said but more in depth. I like the idea that the assassins are antis always out for her and Tae going on the offensive and defending herself. And slapping is more shocking than killing someone is soooo fucking accurate in kpop.

It's a surprisingly thought provoking mv.

Can't fucking wait for Tiffany. The song clips sound so good.

i've been a little out of the loop, can anyone tell me what exactly is happening with yuri and the company?

It's coming more apparent how shitty SM have treated her.

This was today

And recently she said Vlive that her manager said she doesn't have enough fans to hold a fan meet (despite having bday events and corporate fan events with lots of fans). Also remember that album she was confirmed to be working on by SM in 2016, delayed to 2017 (along with Seohyun) and no news since.

Basically it's what we already know - SM is dogshit. More members are speaking up now.

Is anyone else still not having over my skin show up on download stores? I can only stream it on Spotify and that's it. Weird.

Anyway songs good. Very current and Arianna sounding. My only issue is that the verses are a bit slow and sparse but the chorus is good. A solid debut. I'd like her to incorporate a more pop and EDM from her SNSD era. I still say the IJWD English remix version would be sooo awesome for a summer release.

I really like Over My Skin, it's a nice chill sexy song. I do wish it was i little more upbeat. But it's a great start and of course I'm supporting her cuz she deserves everyting.

I just saw the thread about her mom and my respect for Tiffany has gone ever higher. The strengh, dedication and positivity she has is incredibly admirable.

About the spoiler, I saw it going around earlier and there's only 1 source, not from Tiffany herself and she's been super secretive about it throughout her career si it seems strange that such a info is given out like that so suddenly.

But if it's true then wow, Tiffany really is super strong. The times when knetz were telling her to kill herself must've hit her hard given her circumstances. She deserves all the happiness in the world.

I saw Taeyeon new song stay and omg it's AWESOME!

The song is so good. And the MV is beautiful, probably her prettiest. Looks like Morocco, when did she go there? I was watching to it on a warm summer evening and it was perfect for the occasion. It's feels like a summer version of I. Also the random "renewable energy" lyrics made burst out laughing so that gets points from me laugh.png

Also had a listened to I am the greatest. Another amazing song. It's sounds very country and western but actually good laugh.png It's the Japanese U R.

Though I do I think either of these would be a perfect for a Korean cb, Stay in summer would be perfection

TY: You know SNSD? Who knows SNSD?

All: ME!

TY: You all do? Who do you know from SNSD? Do you know their name?

Kid: Yes.

TY: Who?

Kid: So-Nyuh-shi

TY: I'm in SNSD. Who do you think I am in SNSD?

Kid: Teacher

TY: SNSD-teacher, that's right boo. I'm SNSDs Taeyeon noona, unnie.

Kid: I saw you when I was a baby.

TY: You did? She said she saw me when she was a baby. Go and tell your dad (that they saw her).

saw them as a baby? That's true dedication. Rest of us are all bandwagon fans

It's also kinda funny how Taeyeon is around triple their age but looks she's only a few years older than them lol. Probably why the kids are hanging around her

This incident highlights to me the massive gap of professionalism and human warmth between SNSD and some people.

Seohyun was so classy, composed and gracious compared to that male lead who seemed to be lacking severely in his ability to comprehend that a press conference is different from a filming set. Seohyun was also the senior artiste while he is just the rookie lead actor. Very bad manners indeed.

Yeah that's always been the case with SNSD - no matter what antis, media or even fans say about the girls behaviours they've always proven to be utmost professionals with their peers and colleagues. Pretty much no other idols, actors, TV stars, pds etc have ever said a bad word about them.

This guy was clearly being a dick. I could understand if it was nervousness but in a couple occasions Seohyun is being friendly and interacting with him but he brushes her off like she's beneath him. I wonder if he realises just how big and famous Seohyun is, I mean she's recently been nicknamed the peace girl for heaven's sake.

Thought I'd look up what the girls did at SM town. Basically Jack all.

Yoona 1 song, jap version of when wind blows from last year

Hyoyeon 1 sing wannabe from last year again. Had a short dance part

Taeyeon 2 songs, I and stay, hooray something recent. Both Japanese.

That's it. I don't see the point of them going to SM town anymore. Not only do they only perform only 1 or 2 songs out of a 4+ hour concert but it's their old material to boot. If you're a SNSD (or fx) fan then I don't really see the point in going at all.

^me too :(

Well Taeyeon and yoona performed japanese versions of their songs probably because they want to do more japanese releases and get their music into the japanese market as solo, Taeyeon definetly. So its good promo for them. Hyo is there most likely to get more experience as solo. Also they were one the SM's most successful groups in japan, makes sense that SM wants them there to attract some loyal sones to see new acts.

I get the Japanese songs but at the same time that's literally all they did. Yoona and Taeyeon both are 100x better off holding their own events in Japan (concert, fan meet, TV appearance etc which both already have) that will help promote them specifically and much more in depth then being on stage for 2-4mins out of 5hrs. As for Hyo she has actually done less at this SM town than she has at previous ones or at a solo event, that doesn't really help her a solo gain experience. Publicity is non existent, remember like during 2012ish when there American articles talking about SNSD at SM town? Now what would they write about a couple idols who barely appear?

If SM is trying to use SNSD to get more Sones to attend they're going the wrong way about it. TaeHyoYoon are basically side acts, only a really dedicated or desperate Sone would pay a lot just to see them for a like 10 minutes combined.

Like I said there isn't much point financially and as a fan to go see SNSD members at SM town anymore.

I know some may be a bit apprehensive about SNSD 5 but I think the way it's playing out is much better than what SM couldve done. Calling them a sub unit shows even SM acknowledge only having 5 doesn't make them the true SNSD which is miles better than referring to 5 of them as SNSD actual. Plus it means there's still the possibly of all 8 reuniting as SNSD.

I wonder what style of music they're gonna go for. I'm guessing it's gonna be something different considering the make up of the unit. Maybe more EDM/electronic focused?

Well that's one thing down, now the hope is SM don't fuck them over again :soul:

August 2017

Fuck! Looks like this is the end of SNSD. I guess on the music side of things we'll probably be looking at mostly Taeyeon with some cameos from others over the course of a few years. Tiffany may put something out in America and Seo and Sooyoung may be blocked out by SM. And ofc no more group SNSD music. This the darkest timeline.

Bye bye kpop

August 2018

Yuri released single

Hyoyeon released single

Yoona released single

Taeyeon released mini and debuted in Japan

Tiffany released single

Taeyeon again for station

Sooyoung to release single

SNSD sub unit to release something

What a turnaround from the doom and gloom of last year lol. All we need is Sunny and Seohyun to round everything up.

do you think this unit is going to have much things changed of the OT8 / OT9 dynamic?

since allmost all the vocal line members are out.. probably we are going to have a hip hop / dance concept? who knows

I think it's obvious there's gonna be a difference in terms of style and vocals. They don't have 2 main singers after all. 2 main singers obviously aren't enough to match how they used to utilise 4 or 5 main singers especially during balladsor one swhich require high notes, harmonisation etc.

I'm thinking more dance and EDM style would be a good fit. Hyoyeon, Taeyeon and Yuri have done that already, Hyoyeon can have a lot of input and there's isn't much need for super great vocals. Actually come to think of it, red velvet songs both red and velvet sides with a few adjustments (eg I don't think SNSD wanna do the cute rookie stuff anymore lol) could match SNSD pretty well.

However this is SNSD we're talking about. They still have Taeyeon who is an elite singer almost without rival and Sunny while a bit underrated is still a good singer. Those 2 can carry a song no problem. Yuri can fill in some of the middle ground and while they may be weaker group wise yoona and Hyoyeon are still decent and not much worse then if not similar to other groups middle level vocalists. Even as 5 I think they're still a worthy match for most other entire groups.

So on the whole while they may go for a different sound I think they are more than capable to pull off whatever they attempt. Well within reason ofc, SNSD trying to rap an entire song with no proper rappers would be silly lol.

They had a group that was and still is unrivaled in terms of wide ranging appeal (boy and girls, young and old, music lsiteners and tv watchers, domestic and international, and so on) and could do a succeful cb one minute then have ratings record for a tv appearance. SNSD could basically do anything nad everything and make serious bank doing it. You'd have to a dumba-- SM to ruin a group like that.

Now SM realise they havent got a group as verstaile and with many avenues of income as SNSD anymore.  Its almost as if SNSD was a very special group that was lightning in a bottle and you cant simply replicate that. Im no businessman but I think in that situation the best idea would probably to keep them happy so they stay on and not, say, I dunno sabotage their comeback? But thats just me, what do i know.

SM is truly run by a bunch of idiots.
