SNSD needs a unified fan squad again. Soshified were useful back in 2011-2013 but now they're just using SNSD for attention.

 

I wish I new of any rising western fan unions. Someone needs to get on this bc Asian Sones are so scattered rn.  

I signed up for Shoshified when i first got into SNSD but after awhile the board just became a ghost town and it was wayyy more active here on OH. I wish i had the time and patience to start a western fan union for SNSD,there's just to many things that need to be done to make it successful and i dont think i'd be able to handle it

 

I've honestly been considering expanding my korean knowledge now that the fandom isn't as active in subbing programs as it used too. 

 

If only SM subbed things like other Kpop companies do now

I started to teach myself Korean,but i couldn't get pass the Hangul phase. for some reason even when i read and practice writing down each constant and vowel 5 times, i cant seem to retain the information :-(

 

I am thinking about learning mandarin Chinese through this app called Hello talk,but i think i need an actual mandarin speaker around me like constantly

Since there was news of a possible English version of her song I thought it was a bit random, why not do it before?

 

Then I remembered that the MV had slightly off lip syncing/mouth movements and sometimes you don't even get to see her mouth due to camera angles or quick cut aways. Seriously take a look again

 

 

 

This occurs because the same MV is used for different languages. Like TTS dear Santa, 2 languages 1 MV and if you notice their mouths didn't fully sync with the lyrics of either language. Also applies to other songs like those from TVXQ and Shinee.

 

So that means an English version was planned from the start but I wonder why they would do it now/later and not do it at the beginning when hype was highest. Maybe to check the reception? To coincide with something like a concert? Or maybe even something crazy like an American push?

 

Maybe it's just me but i feel like the English version is gonna make the song sound totally different

That's what I'm worried about lol Hopefully who ever is doing the english version comes through,you'll be surprised how just a change in lyrics and minor changes with melodies and even harmonization and adlibs can make a track sound totally different(Well from my experience in producing)

Yes I know you're ally haha. Good points. So basically, a forum in the style of OH (but with less sections) in where we can all spazz and discuss without being bothered and where we can organize ourselves and our support for the girls. 

Gonna have to think over this a bit before I do anything concrete and gather people/resources, but I'd be open to more brainstorming with you all. Any ideas (and people wanting to contribute) welcome. 

 

I would love to start some type of forum that Sones can go to specially at times when OH becomes unbearable lol . but i also do admit it might not move a lot of track like this thread. But i can possibly see us being second to this forum when it comes to the traffic of SNSD thread

 

One of the things we can offer is a "No Troll Zone" like zero tolerance for trolling. but being able to distinguish when someone is speaking there mind. or may disagree with another sone.

 

information wise,maybe we can have some kind of twitter widget with alot of big name twitter followers,that when they update it immediately updates on the forum,so people can get the information in real time. and make threads to. Also possibly talk to JasmineLep for translation,and i think we could possible find a translator for Chinese. I will say subbing video's might be a little harder in that aspect. We could also team up with BerryGudYo,who has a blog that collects all of the SNSD tv shows that have subs as well.

 

To me when it comes to a message board. Looks & also easy use is a big thing,we dont want to make it to complicated to use.

No. NOT Reddit. The people there are stupid and the updates are slow and the nature of the forum doesn't allow for any organization of threads and content. Everything is in a linear form.

 

I can translate Chinese stuff. (Used to translate for OH a long time ago) It can be used as a backup for when we don't get direct English translations since there are Chinese translations for almost everything. I say it's backup plan because translating from Korean to Chinese and then to English would inevitably lose some of the actual meaning of the words. I'm always hesitant to translate because of that.

 

Also, for the archive of SNSD content, mine is a little limited to mostly Taeyeon and Tiffany content. But I have someone in mind that can help us build an almost complete archive of SNSD gallery!

 

I see a forum that becomes more about Sone than Soshi at the end of the day. Pretty idealistic stuff but there is no reason not to be.

Show Champ voting has opened again. Like I have mentioned before, I have TONS of Show Champ accounts. Anyone that wants to help out with the voting please let me know, either here or through PM.

 

All that sounds like a good idea. It would be nice to have safe haven.Spruce it up with some nice graphics,have separate sections for each member. maybe even have sections for different parts of the world so like Thai sones,Chinese sones,American sones etc..can communicate with each other and even do meetups. specially when the girls are touring . Maybe possibly get in contact with some of the fans that take really good pictures & work in conjunction with them to do projects/contest. Like maybe a really good fan taken picture and have it made into like a wall poster and raffle it off to winners...or something

Don't think so. Fansites have this strict rule about not making any money off their stuff. Also, I would prefer it if the future forum doesn't get involve with "making" money. Ad revenue should be enough to support the site, if it isn't, I am more than happy to contribute from my own pocket. I can provide the prizes for the events as well.

I'd be willing to also contribute out of my pocket. as long as the expenses dont get to much. working on a budget here lol unfortunately i dont have any prizes to give out. but I'd be willing to purchase certain SNSD things(Within reason) to give away as prizes.

 

What If we had a graphic Artist make up there own designs pictures and made posters out of those. not to sell but raffle off. It would be like a once of a kind SNSD graphics poster. I would help but i suck at adobe photoshop :-(

 

We'll just use photos not from fansites so possible MV,and photoshoots from albums(might not be legal) or even have someone actually draw the members?
