Did you already try that gatorade and lipton events? I did and failed to get a free streaming coupon. I wonder if there are any other events like that currently probably not.

I think they count total streams for Gaon though so it doesn't hurt to stream it a couple times an hour if you can

 

I don't think it does otherwise the Gaon streaming numbers would be way higher especially for groups like EXO.

I think Gaon gets their streaming numbers from daily charts which only count 1 stream per account per day no matter how many times that account streams the song.

 

For example if you go look at the most recent Gaon streaming chart from July 23-29. Red Velvet had 6.7 million streams and in Melon I remember them getting around 600k unique streams per day during in that period so 600k x 7 = 4,2 million streams from Melon that week and the rest 2,5 million streams then came from all the other digital music selling sites in total.

 

I mean if it counted all streams for songs EXO streams on that week would have been much higher than 4,5 million since they were like 99% of the time number 1 on melon real time chart.

Same here. I made 11 melon accounts and tried both events with all of them and didn't win even 1 coupon so I failed total of 22 times. Well at least I tried. I continue to stream the MVs just like you.

I am happy to see SNSD still selling this well on their 10th year but I still have to say something about comparing this new album sales to SNSD previous album sales.

 

I think the main reason this album is beating first week sales of previous album is simply because back in the day Sones always tried to spread out the sales sales for 1st, 2nd and 3rd weeks so that it would give SNSD better change of winning music shows for multiple weeks. This time the message has been completely opposite everyone telling people to pre order the album or buy it right away on the 1st week.

So I don't think people should expect this album to sell like way more than Lion Heart or Mr.Mr did in total for example based on the fact this album beat those albums first week sales easily. 

 

Of course I hope I am completely wrong and this album keep selling more than those did even on its 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc.. weeks as well but I doubt it is gonna happen.

On Gaon August 13th - 19th Download chart 

 

Holiday 9th place with 58,524 downloads and 

All night 44th place with 28,985 downloads.

 

Holiday's total downloads now are 213,838 and All Night's 121,190 downloads.

 

+ interesting facts: Holiday's position has stayed exactly the same. It has been 3 weeks straight 9th place on Gaon downloads chart.

Also All Night actually surpassed You Think's 119k total downloads so at least this time around the 2nd title track is doing better.

I have a question -

Are Taeyeon's physical sales from the single album more than SNSD's? or do GDA consider repacks as well while computing physical awards?

 

Yeah GDA considers repackage album being same album with the original and adds those sales together.

Taeyeon Fine album + its deluxe edition aka the repackage sold around of 220k copies compared to SNSD Holiday Night that sold 167k

SNSD Wikipedia page was 16th most read in music bands category from Dec 1, 2007 -  Dec 31, 2017 with total of 24 million views. It is pretty amazing they were the only kpop group on that list.

IRIVER has distributed SM, JYP and BigHit music since February this year they announced about it late January

Damn we'll have to watch the charting tomorrow but with the way the views are going we might (but just maybe) have a shot at getting them a music show win next week. I guess biggest competitors would be Sunmi and BTS? 

 

I don't think so.

I mean Sunmi is doing so much better digitally compared to SNSD + she also has 1 more day time to chart this week.

Then BTS is currently doing about the same digitally than SNSD and they are going to have 7 days time to chart this week compared to SNSD around 4 days. Also when it comes to MV views and physical sales SNSD isn't going to beat BTS or if they are not by so much that it would make them win on some music show.

How much do physicals affect music show scores? I have a feeling they're gonna be a mess cuz of the kihno thing lol

On Mcountdown the total max score is 11 000 while max score for album sales category is 1500 points.

The artist who has highest selling album previous week get that 1500 points and other artists points are based on how much their album sold in relations to the top selling album. So if your album sold half what the top selling album sold you are going to get half of that 1500 points so 750 points from album sales category.

 

It is same for Inkigayo except max points for album sales category is 500 points.

 

Music Bank max points for album sales is 10 000 points.

and it is calculated based on how many percent your album sales were from the total album sales. So if 300k albums were sold previous week in total in Korea and your album sold 30k copies which is 10% of that 300k you are going to get 10% of that max 10 000 points so 1000 points.

 

Music Core I don't know since it says 60% of total score is digital + physical sales so they are together in one category. No one knows how much physical amounts of that and how much are digital sales and how it is calculated.
