... sigh, CAN WE AT LEAST GET THE EYEBROWS BACK, SMENT?

Forget the eyebrows for now! We're lucky she's not dressed in the hobo garb she usually wears to the airport  :hurr:

It looks like you and the song have something in common then #kekeke

Hyoyeon-focused fancam of “Dancing Queen†at the ASC event

Much thanks to the OH user hyolo23 for taking this fancam. Hyo-focused ones are a rare treat!

I think Hyo covered Sooyoung's line out of choreo convenience since she was already in the right spot for that part of the song.

You are not a storm breaker, you are merely a wind breaker because all you do is break wind, and your asshole reeks. The storm part you are getting confused is the rumbling in your failing intestines.

Re-evaluate the status of your existence, reconsider your life choices, and reflect.

Hyoyeon and Yuri are heading to LA to judge auditions for Dancing9. I think this means our hopes came true and Dancing9 isn't just a one-episode deal but a full series! Wish their schedules were more spread out since they seem to be flying back and forth between countries on a daily basis nowadays.

[translation] Part I of Hyoyeon's 1st Look Interview

"Without rushing, the girl who slowly waited until she gained confidence- her story is one that'd be good to let all girls in the world know"

Notes:
1. **...**: means i had no idea whatsoever how to translate it so i gave up
2. lots of using my own words according to what i feel like they were saying - it could be wrong so apologies in advance
3. a more easier on the eyes version here: http://hyoyeonjjang.tumblr.com/post/54622634174/hyoyeon-1st-look-interview

RHYTHM EMOTION

http://m.firstlook.co.kr/?star=rhythm-emotion

I thought there was no explanation needed. Because it was clear that everyone knows Hyoyeon as the one who dances well among SNSD and has a lively image. However, she was more alluring and elegant than a (mere) ‘girl’, she was a ‘woman’ who revealed a new side of herself in front of the camera. Furthermore, without rushing, the girl who slowly waited until she gained/grew confidence - I confess that her story is one that would be good to let all the girls in the world hear (know.) Even now, whenever she hears praises she brushes them away awkwardly, maybe she still feels unfamiliar/strange talking about her own self rather than SNSD. However, saying “If I don’t say it then who will convey my words/story", Hyoyeon who seems to have decided to become a bit more majestic(? confident?), like a blooming flower, is telling us exactly who she is. In the time that has gone by without us even noticing, the girls have been growing up without pause.

I: It seems like today’s outfits are very different from the clothes you normally wear

H: They are completely different (style of) clothes. I personally like clothes that are simple but have a flashy/loud feel. These (photo shoot) clothes are flashy despite being classic so it’s fun.
I: I think the overall styling is more mature than SNSD’s

H: While doing SNSD activities there hasn’t been any occasion to wear such modern clothes. But recently while shooting a pictorial in Hong Kong I have tried out a similar styling (like today). The photographer from England and stylists shot me with a styling that was completely different from SNSD(’s image) It was a **…*** concept to the extent that I even thought “They must not know much about me". When I look at the pictures, it seems like its not me, it still feels awkward.
I: Today you gave feminine poses very well.

H: They told me to pose like I’m dancing, so I think I found a method for myself.
I: Maybe getting cast on DWTS helped you, don’t you think?

H: It definitely did. While doing Dance Sports, I learned many feminine poses and lines. I personally liked the rumba the best, its a really sexy and ‘feeling’-fulled dance. It’s a dance that requires expressing and conveying the feel of everything - right down to your fingertips ** - so far I had been lacking these aspects a lot. While doing dance sports I discovered what s-line is and what kind of posturing makes you look pretty. That’s why, even yesterday I searched and watched rumba videos with the intention of doing image training by repeatedly learning that ‘feel’.
I: So the powerful yet at the same time feminine feel you conveyed during IGAB stages must have been thanks to it?

H: If that was how I came across then I’m really glad/ relieved. The interesting this is, it feels like I’m constantly learning while doing promotional activities. This time (this music) I think I learned more about *onstage sexiness. There are many things - from my hand movements to my expressions - that have changed a lot. In the past, even when I watched sexy stages/performances, it wasn’t my thing (I couldn’t adapt myself to it). There were times it looked more awkward than sexy **…..** However, after appearing on DWTS I think I’ve become a bit more informed about how to light up the screen (shine on screen?) and what the public likes.. it feels like many of the things/ thoughts that I’ve troubled myself over have been solved. I have gained self-confidence.
I: If that’s the case then, your role model must have changed from your debut days. In your teens you said that you would like to dominate the stage like Missy Elliot..

H: Even worse (more extreme than that), I was a kid who used to watch and follow male artists more than female artists! Of course, even now I like masculine dances and want to learn them more. But I also find myself wishing that I could show more a feminine charisma like Lee Hyori unnie. I want to learn Beyonce or Rihanna’s stage (performance) manners/moves too.
I: It seems like beyond working hard, you also need to have the ‘know how’

H: Other people say that it’s difficult to put power into their dance moves, (but) I am the opposite. It’s difficult to lessen the force (of my movements). Hence for a while, it was my homework to match my color with that of the team called SNSD. I believed that if I worked hard, I would be able to capture the hearts of the public, but it was very different from what I thought so I went through some times of hardship (because of that). Made me think that it had something to do with the genres being different. (finally) now I feel like I have been able to strike a balance in the eyes of the public.
[i think she’s saying that she has been able to strike a balance between her own image with that of SNSD’s overall image in a way that the public likes or at least doesn’t have a problem with]
I: It seems like it was a time where you had to personally put in more individual effort

[ I think the reporter was saying something like - Hyoyeon had to put in the extra effort and not the rest of SNSD in that aspect i.e., trying to match?!?! not totally sure]

H: But I’m not the type who puts in a ton of effort just for (one) moment. Rather, my style is to work steadily. I just didn’t give up until the moment that it (the problem) started to resolve itself naturally.
I: I think that its not only on stage that you have changed. For a while you had the image of making ‘speech mistakes’, but recently when you appeared talk shows you handled sensitive topics, i also saw many times where you told substantial stories

H: It wasn’t that I thought that “this is the timing that I should come out/ show myself". It was just that I was telling the things/stories that I had inside me , going along with the flow (of the show); I think maybe it was because I had my members with me I was able to answer naturally. All this time, my acquaintances (people I know) must have been wanting to see more of me talking; these days they tell me that they are a bit satisfied (laughs) To be honest, I am the type that takes a long time to show a comfortable appearance (i.e., to feel at ease) on tv.

[TRANSLATION] Hyoyeon on Beatles Code

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k480I-bmFE

Tak Jaehoon: What role do you play on 'Dancing9'?
Hyoyeon: On stage, the gripping force that captures the general public. Things like charisma and how your eyes look
Yoo Sangmoo: What are you supposed to do with your eyes?
Hyoyeon: (nervous) Since I've gotten on stage a lot, I did learn a little late
Shindong: Hyoyeon, why are you shaking like this all of a sudden?
Lee Yongwoo: Hyoyeon's the K-POP master
Hyoyeon: I'm K-POP. That's right.
Lee Yongwoo: There's modern dance, popping, breaking and all of that. Hyoyeon, Yuri and Minwoo are the masters of the K-POP portion
Shindong: Hyoyeon, you were really famous when you were younger. You can tell us about that
Hyoyeon: That was when I was really young, so…
Popinjay: I still remember it like it was yesterday
Hyoyeon: Really?
Shindong: You can't forget that video
Hyoyeon: If that's the case, 6~7 years ago, I participated in a large popping competition as a guest. At battle competitions, I passed the preliminaries and got to the semifinals once, too.
Popinjay: Hyoyeon's debut stage really left an impression on street dancers
Hyoyeon: Really?
Popinjay: With miss A's Min, when they were really little, they did popping. It was really impressive.
Shindong: So when street dancers do popping, they only do that, and if they do locking, they only do locking. But I remember she did those as well as K-POP dances
Jang Dongmin: Are you her sasaeng fan?
Shindong: All dancers know about her
Jang Dongmin: Oh, really?
Shindong: Everyone knows how famous Ducky and Popinjay is
Yoo Sangmoo: Dancers have their own thing, knowing who is good
Shindong: Of course
Tak Jaehoon: Right now, I also..
Yoo Sangmoo: Do you know something, too?
Tak Jaehoon: I danced

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veGGaRPjpYo

Tak Jaehoon: You said (caption) 'Girls' Generation's cute choreography doesn't suit you'.

Hyoyeon: Yes.
Tak Jaehoon: What did you mean?
Hyoyeon: Before debuting, the dances I learned consisted of large movements and were powerful. Dancing while wearing a skirt was something I would have never imagined doing. But after debuting, because we had a 'young girl' concept, dancing while carrying lollipops. After that, I just made moderate movements, like waves, that I could do wearing that one-piece [outfit].
Yoo Sangmoo: That must have been like torture because you could dance well
Shindong: It's to the point, where if Hyoyeon does sexy dances or does Girls' Generation's choreography, dancers probably said this the most: "Did she throw away/forget all the dances she did in the past?" "Does she just want to become a 'lady'?"
Hyoyeon: I also thought that. I heard this the most when we had just debuted: "The 9 members have to harmonize." But I had the confidence that I could stand out with dancing within the group. But constantly hearing it, it sounded like it was something they were saying [directly] to me, personally. So I did it while controlling myself.
Park Jieun: When I also did a program with Hyoyeon, she's really good at dance sports, too. There's a Latin dance called the Rumba walk. It's a basic movement that professional dancers practice all their lives. But her knees lay straight at once, and her balance is really good. And she always had a desire to learn with her partner, and I was deeply impressed. Other sports dancers were also in awe.
Tak Jaehoon: When we saw her, she always danced pretty dances, and only did cute dances
Shindong: Is there anything simple you can show us? Something that's enough to shock everyone here? Do you want music, too?
Hyoyeon: No no no (…) Something I feel I learned really well is the wave.
Shindong: When you ask typical girl groups to do a wave, what do they do? But if you ask Hyoyeon to do a wave, she does this
Tak Jaehoon: I understand what [the difference is] now
Shindong: That was refreshing

[TRANSLATION] http://bit.ly/12ig0jd Hyoyeon radio call

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3ctIAHbsR4
Kim Shinyoung: A quick call came in to cheer on Sam Hammington. Let's connect them. Hello?
Hyoyeon: Hello?
Kim Shinyoung: Yes, hello.
Hyoyeon: Hello
Kim Shinyoung: This is Midday Song of Hope (not sure if that's the English name that's widely used)
Hyoyeon: Ah, yes, hello
Kim Shinyoung: Who are you and were are you from?
Hyoyeon: Excuse me?
Kim Shinyoung: Where are you from?
Hyoyeon: I live in Cheongdamdong and am Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon
Sam Hammington: Really?
Kim Shinyoung: Yes, Hyoyeon
Sam Hammington: Hello?
Hyoyeon: I'm Hyoyeon who wants to be like Girls' Generation
Kim Shinyoung: It's really Hyoyeon
Sam Hammington: Really?
Kim Shinyoung: Hyoyeon
Hyoyeon: Yes yes yes
Son Jinyoung: They're joking
Kim Shinyoung: Sam said he's always been a fan so we casted her. Personally, to Hyoyeon
Hyoyeon: Hello, Sam oppa
Sam: Hello, it's nice to meet you
Hyoyeon: It's nice to meet you. I'm watching you well
Sam: Thank you. Likewise
Son Jinyoung: I can't believe this
Kim Shinyoung: Why not?
Sam: Don't then
Son Jinyoung: Who are you? How dare you impersonate her?
Sam: I'm sorry, I'm on with Son Jinyoung right now. I'll apologize for him
Kim Shinyoung: Hyoyeon?
Hyoyeon: Yes?
Kim Shinyoung: I met Hyoyeon in private not too long ago, and she said she likes Sam Sam's English a lot
Hyoyeon: That's true. While driving, if I happen to turn on the radio, the part with Sam comes on. So I listened to it often
Kim Shinyoung: What part was funniest?
Hyoyeon: The most recent one was the CBR training, I think that was the funniest.
Kim Shinyoung: Right now, Sam oppa? Get your head straight
Sam: Because she talked about CBR, I missed my place. I can't even believe this right now.
Kim Shinyoung: It's really Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon
Son Jinyoung: I still don't believe it.
Hyoyeon: How will you believe it?
Sam: Didn't you just say she was in the US?
Kim Shinyoung: I was lying. To be honest, Sam oppa asked, "There's a surprise guest, right?" I actually told him that Girls' Generation is the US right now
Hyoyeon: Oh, you did?
Kim Shinyoung: Yes (not sure what she said right after)
Hyoyeon: I'm not in the US right now, but am in Jamsil.
Kim Shinyoung: Oh, you're in Jamsil?
Hyoyeon: While learning (something; I can't hear it), I heard I had an opportunity to speak to Sam
Sam: This is really an honor. I don't know what I need to say, but really, seriously. When people asked me, I said Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon is the best. She's really the best, and I don't need any other singers. Honestly, if I could trade places with Son Jinyoung, I really would be happy
Kim Shinyoung: Hyoyeon, say 'Sam oppa~' and do some aegyo. So he can remember it forever
Hyoyeon: Sam oppa, I'm always watching you well, so always do hwaiting (=work hard)
Son Jinyoung: Do it for me, too. Sunbaenim, Hyoyeon sunbaenim. Hyoyeon sunbaenim, say something to me, too
Sam: Shh, don't.
Son Jinyoung: Why?
Sam: If you do that, [my moment] will be broken
Son Jinyoung: What would break? Don't be greedy. Mother-- I said, 'mother'
Kim Shinyoung: What do you mean 'mother'. You two, fight so articles get written. Hyoyeon, thank you so much for the phone call. Come on next time
Hyoyeon: Of course, invite me sometime, unnie.
Kim Shinyoung: I'd like to ask for you to do popping through viewable radio
Hyoyeon: Alright
Kim Shinyoung: Okay? Sam oppa's face is red right now. Could you say 'Oppa, I love you', and we'll end it there
Son Jinyoung: Do I get nothing until the end?
Hyoyeon: Sam oppa, I love you. Please give Girls' Generation lots of love as well
Sam: Do hwaiting (=work hard), I'm watching you well. Thank you. I love you
Son Jinyoung: Say something to me, too
Kim Shinyoung: Thank you, Hyoyeon
Son Jinyoung: Noo
Sam: I don't believe it
Kim Shinyoung: I've never seen a reaction like this all my life
Sam: I'm really surprised right now
Kim Shinyoung: It really was a call connected with Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon. Thank you so much, Hyoyeon. And, there's… not any call to show Son Jinyoung support
Sam: When the broadcast ends.. I feel satisfied. I'll be okay not participating/working in shows anymore
Hyoyeon: Feeling full without even eating

For those that missed the live stream, don't worry, you only missed about 30 seconds of awkward Hyo shamelessly showing off her Topshop clothes.

She got less screentime than some nugu named Clara who was supposed to be in SNSD but flopped at life. Not exactly the first time Hyo's been robbed of camera exposure so I'm sure she'll live.
