Maybe ppl give these fake convos a pass because it's meant to be funny. But from what I gathered in our 30 page discussion, the disrespect comes the moment you make up a situation where members are romantically involved. No matter the reason behind creating it, isn't the action still the same? And the amount of disrespect comparable?

 

I'm not interested in ppl's opinions on fanfics (so please let's not go back to that topic). I'm just saying to keep your judgement consistent across the board. If people (I know everyone had a diff opinion on the topic, so I'm just talking to the ppl with the same view on fanfics that I described) do find the fake convos disrespectful, then forget I said anything.

It's easy to cause misunderstandings via internet when you're just reading words. Add to that a ton of people plus translation of the original message into multiple langauges and there you go. Plus a lot of people probably didn't know about the 8 hr flight delay when they saw that comment, which puts it into context.
