Still a little awk but the fact that they interacted in good enuf for me

 

 

 

regarding the argument earlier. Don't read if you're getting tired of it. Quite long too.

By pressing this spoiler, you agree that you will not complain about how my post is making the thread's mood bad, because it is your own decision to read it. No one forced you to. You can save your mood by not reading.

And this is only my personal opinion, it doesn't represent the general SONE fandom. You may agree with it or think it's trash

 

 

I know this argument has already faded, but I just wanted to state my opinion

 

the fact that this was brought up is just stupid. There's too many differences between these two couples.

1. YoonGi was confirmed. HyoJay was not

2. YoonGi's status was different than HyoJay. Deal with it. You may continue to argue about whether "status" plays a part in this, but the fact is they do. Both of Yoona and Seunggi has nation's titles, while Hyoyeon (again, deal with it) is relatively less popular and nobody knows about Jay. 

3. There already are past YoonGi moments for people to spaz about, while no footage, evidence or whatever for HyoJay. How about people going spaz if there are no materials to spaz about? How can the heat on the topic stay if there were nothing to fuel it? YoonGi has a background story. From this guy that had a crush on the most popular girl in the country, and consistently stay true to her by naming her his ideal type for three years straight though the chances are slim, to finally getting her love. The typical prince and princess stories only found in fictions, now came true.

 

The main point is just the knowledge about HyoJay is too little.

And who said nobody spazzed about her? I have no idea on this since I wasn't a fan back then, but I'm sure people did express their congrats, though not as heated as YoonGi

 

But I think the main fuse to this bomb is not about the relationships itself, it's about how Hyoyeon is ignored by SONEs.

 

TBH, Robert had a point. Admit it. Hyoyeon has always been the less spazzed-about member in the SONE community. It's an undeniable fact. Once, Hyoyeon posted a pic on Insta, and the pic went 2 days without anyone posting it on the thread, only then I backtracked n found that and posted it, and it only had around 3 upvotes, though it topped the thread. Meanwhile, a Jessibo selca (just an example, to show my desire to be unbiased in this argument) will get posted immediately and reach 20+ upvotes in no time.

 

It just comes to show that SONEs that call themselves OT9, are not really OT9, right?

 

Well perhaps that is the truth.

 

SNSD, being such a large group, there are going to be favs and less popular members. No matter how OT9 you call yourselves, there will always be biases. There's nothing as such as treating everyone equally. Bias lists will always exist, and it just so happens that in a general consensus, Taeyeon, Yoona and jessica topped the list, while less popular members like Sunny, Hyoyeon and Sooyoung stayed low

 

However, isn't this a known reality that people had accepted and moved on with it since long time ago?

What are you going to do about it? Force everyone to like Hyoyeon and spaz about her more?

 

Hyoyeon is the less popular member is the group, and has less fans + OT9s-that-have-Hyoyeon-as-their-bias, therefore will get less spaz, compared to Yoona, one of the most popular members of SNSD, and has more fans + OT9s-that-have-Yoona-as-their-bias. 

 

Deal with it.

 

I, who proudly call myself SONE, will spaz more about Jessica than Hyoyeon. I admit to that. The same probably goes to Qui about Yoona, Lenalee about Tiffany, Honeyed Oasis about Sunny etc etc. (sorry for mentioning you guys i just wanted examples)

BUT, at least we still do care about Hyoyeon, wish her the best, and support her no matter what. This is what's OT9 about us. That's the reason why we call ourselves OT9.

 

OT9 doesn't mean we treat everyone equally. It means we like all of them, but there definitely will be occasions where we love some more than the others. 

 

And TBH if you want to talk about who's getting less spaz and fans, within the OH people, it's actually Yuri. Hyoyeon already has extreme-Hyoyeon-biased fans like amber oppa, Robert and many others, while I hardly see Yuri-biased fans out here.

 

I found this exceptionally hypocritical as well, you are complaining about Hyoyeon not getting enough spaz when she was revealed to be dating, when you yourselves didn't spaz as much about Yoona when YoonGi couple was revealed. Funny eh?  -_-

 

 

 

 

 

 

Being a fan of both SNSD and f(x), and only starting to be active on OneHallyu recently, I don't have the time luxury to post about all the girls. So my posting priority will be my biases.

1) Jessica 2) Taeyeon 3) Krystal 4) SNSD group 5) f(x) group 6) Taengsic

 

Plus, we're posting what the K-side has available and the other girls just don't have the same amount of fansites = less picture volume.

 

 

 

My interest level in the other girls might not border on obsession but I still enjoy what they do as well: Yuri solo covers, Sunny in Variety, Yoona Dramas, & seeing Seohyun grow up (and being the harmony queen).

 

Sadly my interest in Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Hyoyeon only extends to how they interact with the other girls, but I still value them in the group called SNSD because I see them as the "Glue" that keeps the other girls together. 

 

Tiffany has been known as Manager Hwang and Sooyoung + Hyoyeon are the mood makers. They keep the synergy of the group, the so called "bond", strong in the group. I like their influence on the other girls since they just have more fun when its OT9. You see a huge difference when its OT9 vs TTS.

 

Just my 2 cents.

I guess i'm not "OT9" because i'm not gonna watch WGM Seohyun, Yoona YMD drama, All Hyoyeon's Dancing clips, Tiffany Fashion King, etc. Supporting the group and being a SONE should be enough for everyone. We don't need labels and levels for being a fan in the first place.

Does anyone know when on a radio broadcast, Taeyeon said "The ice is slowly melting" and when Jessica talked about her personality?

 

I found something similar: [soShi Subs] Shimshim Tapa Radio - SNSD [Jan 22, 2009] at the 1:26:50 mark they talk about Jessica Aegyo, Jessica + Yuri being the Gag couple, etc. Sunny who talks about "now she's melting ice" at 1:27:54.

Nothing wrong with having OT9, but only as an Ideal. Seems like we try to love the girls more so that we feel it'll reach them. International fans can't get as close to the girls as the K-sones can so we probably created OT9 to be a reflection of the Soshi-bond. Even the mythical Soshi bond isn't as equal between members so why should we expect that from the fans themselves!!! Not every member went to so-and-so's musical, or was in the audience during whoever's individual performance...

 

Just as certain members become more popular or get more focus during a certain time (part of SM's plan tbh), the focus of support from the group themselves is cyclical as well. This year it was Hyoyeon as evidenced by their variety appearances (Genie year it was Jessica, etc).
