We're back in business guys lol. Ms. Make Sure You Vote For Award Shows reporting for duty!

Mini-review though first:

Holler: 3.75 out of 5

- Everything before the bridge falls flat for me. From the bridge onwards (minus the rap) is gold though.

Whisper: 4.5 out of 5

- No words needed amirite? I'm a total sucker for R&B influenced ballads. Had the perfect amount of pop to go with it.

Adrenaline: 3.5 out of 5

- I may need to listen to it again because it didn't attract me on first listen like every other song did.

Stay: 4.5 out of 5

- The vocal eargasm in this song omg. I was jamming within the first 10 seconds

Only U: 4 out of 5

- I teared up here. Really reminded me of how much Seohyun has grown up. Sweet and simple.

EYES: 4 out of 5

- YAS this was so hot. One of the few times that I appreciated Fanye West.

It sounded so much like Problem/Fancy. Too short. :(

Total: 24.25 out of 30?

TaeTiSeo - "Holler" Album Review

Liam Smith

I didn’t really notice it at the time but TaeTiSeo were not as well received by Girls’ Generation fans as I thought back in 2012.  While their debut EP ‘Twinkle’ went on to be a huge success, some fans were disappointed with the direction in sound and sub-unit members.
Fast forward two years and TaeTiSeo are back with their second mini and I certainly think this EP will change the minds of some of those skeptical.  The EP ‘Holler’ was released digitally today around the world and will be released physically on Friday.
The album opens with the title track and lead single ‘Holler’.  Based on the 30 seconds clips, it sounded like Holler was going to be in similar vein to Twinkle.  But SM teasers are always quite misleading and Holler is NOTHING like Twinkle.  Saying that, it does feel like a natural progression - going from the 60’s jazz of Twinkle to the glitz of the 90’s.  Holler has a bit of a 90’s vibe with the siren effects, it really reminds me of the pop of the late 90’s while also still sounding current.
‘Adrenaline' continues on the 90's/early noughties pop sound with a thumbing beat and clap track which is just ridiculously catchy.  The chorus is absolutely killer - the hook absolutely ingrains itself in your head, you'll be singing it for days.  The girls sound exquisite here and I really like the harmonies in the middle-eight.  This should have been the lead single in my opinion.
‘Whisper' is the buzz track for this album, released on the 13th September and I bloody love it!  I'm a bit of a sucker for 90's throwback R&B and the girls just absolutely kill it here.  The girls voices sound smooth and silky here, over the slick production.  Just heaven.
‘Stay' is the most 'Girls Generation' sounding on the EP, it wouldn't have sounded out of place on the Mr Mr album.  It's a really funky 80's synth pop song.  I really like the rap in the second verse but I think this song would have suited SNSD instead of TTS.  I think HyoYeon would have slayed the rap and the chorus would have really soared being sung by all 9 members.
‘Only You' is the weakest track on the album for me.  It's a mid-tempo ballad which has a hint of R&B to it.  It's a really lovely song that was co-written by SeoHyun.  It's nice.  It fits the flow of the album but I'm not sure if I would listen to this much outside of the album.
The closing track ‘EYES' is in my opinion, one of the best songs either TTS and Girls' Generation have done.  I don't really know how to describe it, but there is something about the production and melody of this song that just pulls me in.  I really like it when the girls sing in a higher register and their voices are really pushed here.  They sound exquisite.  You can tell that the Ariana Grande song 'Problem' has had an influence on the production but once you get past that, you just fall in love with this song.  I've listened to this song the most from this EP. The song ends so abruptly that you just have to play it again.  And again and again and again. A  fantastic way to close the album.
Is this album better thank Twinkle?  Absolutely.  Twinkle was a strong cohesive album that was rooted in 60’s influenced pop and jazz.  Holler ramps it up tremendously, taking influence from the best of the 90’s to give us a glitzy package of pure pop that you’ll have on repeat for weeks - if not months.  TaeTiSeo have managed to pull off a strong, cohesive second album which is surely going to pull in fans who aren’t so keen on sub-units.

Does this person go on OneHallyu? :derp:

Everything will only sink in for me once they release an OT8 album :rlytearpls:

Been singing AMLIFY all day.

I am so late with this that you have probably talked about this so many times already but I just can't understand why SMent made this decision when I think about it it just doesn't make any sense to me.

I mean if I understood correctly this spring Jessica informed to SM and SNSD members that she will leave or halt her activities as a SNSD member after SNSD next album promotions which would have probably been early next year.

It seems Jessica was also thinking that since just a few days ago she wrote how she was looking forward to SNSD Tokyo Dome concert in December and SMTown concert in Ajinomoto stadium later this week.

So this whole thing was completely surprise to Jessica who obviously thought she would be promoting as a SNSD member to at least sometime around early next year.

So why did SMent just decided that today same day as the fan meeting, same week as SMtown concert in Japan, middle of TTS promotions that Jessica wouldn't go to that SNSD fan meeting and that SNSD is gonna promote as a 8 members group for this day on.

When the other option was to let Jessica promote as SNSD member until their next album promotions were over and then resolve this whole thing well without creating this kind of huge mess.

We fans would have seen OT9 on these fan meetings in China and on Tokyo Dome concert and we would have even gotten 1 more OT9 album + the whole thing would have been resolved nicely. Of course fans would have still been sad and upset but they would have understood and accepted the situation and wished luck to Jessica, 8 other SNSD members and even to SMent for handling the situation well.

So what you guys think? Do you have any opinions or theories why SM decided to do this now?

This would have been perfect.

But why is everyone so quick to belive Jessica? at this point her statements should be treated the same as SM statements, she has every motivation to twist the story in her favour to gain sympathy just like the company does. Shes not gonna come out in an official statement and admit anything wrong she has been doing

Give me a decent explanation though? Why would she go to this extent of twisting a story to get vengeance on the girls? She really has nothing to gain here except some short-term sympathy. I don't believe it's worth it if the story is actually false. Her points sorta add up to some of the parts that SM/Dispatch was subtly claiming. If she twisted the story so much couldn't SM find a loophole and sue her for defamation? Yeah again not very worth it if it's false and just to gain sympathy.

Yes indeed this has me question the girls. But I want another side to the story. It was so much better just pinning everything on SM. T_T

Its entirely possible that the girls wanted her out but im not buying the "no justifiable reason" bullshit. If it got to the point where they had to get together and decide to kick her out there mustve been some pretty serious shit which she obviously wont admit to in an official statement. Theres way more to this that either side is gonna admit and one shouldnt be taken more credibly at a time like this

Stll. Jessica really has nothing to lose either.

I hope that by the end of this week Tiffany has dragged her to hell.

It's wrong of her to do that to people she's been with for 14 years. It really pisses me off, sorry.

If this is true. It only implies that she was kicked out because of money. Take your comment and spin it to HER perspective. How do you think she feels? Probably the same way you feel. She's trained the longest correct? Been here for 15 years only to be betrayed.

This one? http://mwave.interest.me/SIA/2014/poll

The one that the Jung sisters are one of the nominees too? And so are Super Junior and EXO and Go Ara. Many other SM artists, why only SNSD gets an MV if they win?

And SNSD isn't even one of the nominees, TTS is.

I doubt it, how can a MV make someone win a fashion icon award?

It was targeting TTS actually and apparently their PD said that the MV for Only U might be released if fans helped them win the award.
