Remember sones, we can't win everything.

The success of a comeback isn't always determined by the music show wins, case in point, Genie. It remains one of their most famous and representative songs, despite the relative lack of music show wins.

and don't forget, our girls have already won quite a number of trophies already.

They have reach a point in their careers where music show wins is a bonus, not an indication of success or fame.

Junior groups need trophies to establish their position.

But for a group with over 100 wins, another win is just the cherry on top of a gigantic cake.

The important thing is not to be upset, or go around arguing with trolls and haters.

not to mention losing to a boygroup with strong physical sales and rabid fangirl voting isn't really anything bad or terrible. Most girl groups would have no chance at all.

As long as the girls are having a good time, and sales are good,

This PARTY is still a resounding success!

remember, a good PARTY is when everyone is having a god time!

Seeing that there are a lot of new sones and newbies to Kpop, I think we need to understand certain things about SNSD and their rather unique relationship with all the weekly music shows.

SNSD is an anomaly in Kpop.

When SNSD came out with Gee in 2009 , and won 9 consecutive times on music bank, it broke many records and gave the broadcast stations and the music show PDs a wake up call.

For a long time, no one had any significant advantage when it comes to winning music shows.

Solo artists depended on public support, which was fickle.

Boy groups have their massive fangirls fanbase, but little public support and low digital sales.

And girl groups was no threat, only in recent years did girl groups have great digital sales.

So there were many variables, so no one could predict who could win. Popular artists would win on their first week, but no one could dominate for long.

Then came SNSD, they have good digital sales, excellent public support, and yet, they have the massive devoted fanbase of a boygroup.

The success of Gee was a warning of sorts. Basically, without interference or some kind of manipulation, SNSD has the rare capability to win and win and keep winning for many times.

Which, from the point of us Sones, is a great thing.

But not for the show Producers and the rest of Kpop.

Because if someone keeps on winning, and winning, and open numbers and scoring criteria means everyone can predict SNSD will win again,  then there is no suspense, and viewership will drop. Other fandoms and groups will give up.

So the music shows came up with ways to manipulate. Each show would have some hidden criteria, or some number which they can manipulate or adjust, or keep hidden until the last moment.

This means no one could accurately predict who wins, enabling the shows to keep people watching until the last minute. It also allows them to decide who wins.

In other words, its a game, with the shows deciding the rules and scores. Its never 100% fair.

Of course, letting SNSD win for one week is no problem for the shows, they are the National Girl group, with support and love and recognition. Every comeback, SNSD performing guarantees excitement and viewership. And their numbers usually means SNSD will win logically.

The danger is, allowing SNSD to win consecutively. Which also applies for other groups, but to a much lesser extent.

So you see, the music shows have a love-hate relationship with our girls. They love Soshi because they bring in viewers and fans.

but they also hate Soshi because they are so prolific at winning, our girls make the PDs life difficult.

So to sum it up, every time our girls comeback and release a song, it has always been

SNSD and Sones vs the rest of the Kop world.

So don't be upset.

After Gee, Music Bank would change the rules every time SNSD had a come back, just to stop our girls from dominating week after week and making the PDs pull their hair out.

Mnet had a feud with SM, so our girls simply never could win anything on Mcountdown for years. Inkigayo was nicknamed PDgayo, because they often blatantly manipulated scores to let whoever they want , win.

The other shows only gave out wins in recent years.

So there is no need to be upset or angry or feeling sorry for our girls. They ( and SM, and the whole of Kpop) ,have been around for 8 years, they know very well the hidden, unspoken rules in Kpop. They know that even if all Sones do everything they can to help and buy and vote, it all ultimately depends on the show PDs to decide.

if it is convenient and to their benefit, then the shows allow SNSD to win, and win and win.  If not, our girls get their deserved one or two wins, and then the rest is beyond our hands.

We just do what we can to maximise the chances, and put pressure on the shows to be more fair to our girls.

So be happy, 6 wins for a single is already very good by normal standards, many groups don't get more than 3 or 4 wins for years. The rookies take years to win one trophy.

Because SNSD has so many wins, we take it for granted they will win many many times.

If hater want to bash and insult, let them. Long time Kpop fans know very well the music shows are not 100% fair or transparent. Even the year-end award show are not all fair, with MAMA being the most ridiculous sometimes.

Insults and jeers are only words, and they can affect you only if you let them.

SNSD has ignored their haters for years, only concentrating on what really matters. Efforts and hard work will pay off.

Real numbers do not lie, a single outselling other groups full albums.

The media coverage, public excitement, sales numbers, fan support, TV show appearances do not lie.

Our girls are still more popular and loved, and leading the competition by a big margin.

They have been hit by worse things before, a couple of music show losses is just a small bump on their successful Party.

We should be proud that after 8 years, and so many problems and all the competition trying to take them down, our girls are still the mighty Soshi juggernaut, tough as nails, cute and bubbly, and on top and loved by many.

Remember, the girls are going back to their rookie mindset, so should we. Think of them as a rookie group that just debuted, 6 wins is awesome numbers already.

Hey guys

I'd like to apologize for the OP that I made. I believe someone was upset that I used screen caps from the teaser and from the music video and that they appear to be over-saturated. Also, the text seems to be unreadable.

Just a few things though:

1. As of the moment we barely have group photoshoots that we can work on and also given that we only had a single (for now) and not an album, so I resorted to just using screen caps.

2. My computer resolution made me believe that these texts are readable, I never tried to check and see how it looks on different platforms. I apologize for that.

3. I didn't make much effort quite honestly i just wanted to have a new OP that would fit in for the comeback so I quickly made these with limited resources.

However, I plan on making a new OP again this next comeback for Lion Heart and You Think. So for now we'll leave the Party photos for now. I am really sorry.

Let's not forget to thank MoshiMoshi the current OP for her efforts to update the section and also to keep us informed on the schedule, shows, subs, shoots, etc! ♥

If you have any suggestions for the OP as I always say please feel free to PM me for corrections and suggestions, as well as MoshiMoshi. We are open to any type of help we can get.

Thank you and sorry!

No need for apologies, you did a lot of work, and while its not perfect, we appreciate your efforts and dedication.

Damn SNSD voted number ONE most impactful GIRL GROUP and the hate started to pour in as always; lets look why they are impactful

As seen in this Korea foundation CF.

In Korea, there is Kimchi, Makgeolli(rice wine), Dae Janggeum , Park Jisung, and ............ So Nyuh Shi Dae.

You don't get any higher honours than that.

Appreciate the credit please.

what artikel ?

This article.

Ahhh, so I've decided to watch all of SNSD's concert DVDs. Does anybody know whether they lip synced on the Japanese Love & Peace Tour DVD, or were their vocals live, or a mix of both? :)

The DVD is not really an accurate way to judge, during production and editing of the DVD, they sometimes just add in the MR to cover the girls singing, so the audio sounds perfect. You would think they are lip-synching, but fancams show something different.

For example, I was at their concert and some songs were sung live, but when the DVD came out...  :wth:

Fifth Harmony take their crown with "Worth It"  :horror:

Of course they would, they sing in English and have far more international appeal.

The fact that SNSD has so many views despite singing in Korean and is considered a nich kinda music is incredible.

Comparing things like this is just plain ... stupid.

Awesome! Thank you so much for dedicating time and efforts to our girls, I do hope more Sones and go to SSF.

There is so much drama and basing everywhere else, SSF is  a safe haven, especially for new fans.

Wow, I just counted,

pause at 0:14 of the Lion Heart MV

and you can see ..... 14 pizza boxes.

And since they celebrated Tiffany's birthday during the shoot, it means the pizza boxes are for real, with real pizza.

Which also means the 8 of them wolfed down 14 pizzas................

I am happy....

You guys are so dramatic, not getting No1 means they are 'flopping horrendously'???

Really?

What kind of bullshit is this.

So all the group that never got no1 are all flopping horrendously?

Come on, the last thing Sones should do is getting affected by haters and worry needlessly.

Newbies need to calm down.

There are groups which songs never got number 1, but still got great longevity and do great on the year-end charts.

Then there are songs which chart no 1, but disappear off the charts after  few days, and are nowhere to be found n the year-end charts.

SNSD has never had great digitals, and their position is never dependent on digitals, not when they have the physical sales of boy groups.

I will just say this once and no more.

Chart positions depends on the competition, LH could sell more than Party but have lower chart positions simply because of the competition.

and things SMTM and hiphop/rap is the hot thing recently.

Did no one learn anything after being in Kpop for so long?

We should look at sales numbers instead of chart positions,

And sometimes, a good album/song just have no good sales because the public have fickle taste.

I see also a lot of non-fans becoming interested in SNSD because of this comeback.

As long as SNSD continues to have good songs and attract new fans, I see them doing well and going on for a long time.

Dmz concert is on 5th sept right ? but why tiffany post a pic about her being in DMZ now with yeri and yuri ?

I believe she and Sunny and Yuri are at the press con for the DMC festival, not DMZ concert.

they are the MCs I think.

What is going on in Korea right now?

#PrayforKorea is trending worldwide.

NK shelled SK with artillery,

Then SK returned fire yesterday.

And now 1 hour ago, accoring to BBC:

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has ordered his frontline troops to be on a war footing, state media says, after an exchange of fire with the South across their heavily fortified border.

The KCNA report said Mr Kim declared a "semi-state of war" at an emergency meeting late Thursday.

OH SHIT!

hmmm, i wonder whatll happen to kpop if mass buying didnt exist.

i dont hate it, i just think its such an odd thing to do.

But why is it odd?

Fansites can save a lot of money if they pool funds and bulk buy and save on shipping fees.

Everybody benefits.

Come on Sones, stop taking all the troll bait.

You guys are being brainwashed by their constant harping on the so called'importance of digital' that you forget something.

And its not the end of the world if their digitals aren't fantastic.

SNSD's strength has aways been the fact that they are all-rounders, doing good at all fields.

They are not the typical gilr group who has fantastic digital sales and terrible physical sales.

In fact, except Gee, their digital sales has never been number one on year end charts.

When a male group is nowhere to be found on the digital charts, but sell a lot physically, do you hear people say they 'flopped"?

Right now, our girls are doing okay on the charts, and that is all they need, just perform okay.

When physical sales come out, and when they start promotions, then things will pick up.

Remember, one of soshi's biggest strength is that they are not just singers and musicians, they are also dancers and actresses and MC and variety stars and radio DJs and CF stars and photoshoot models and magazine cover models..

It a combination of all this that makes them the national girl group.

No one can always have hit song after hit song.

Even if this time, they don't slay everyone, but as long as they keep their ground and gain fans, they will still be miles ahead of the competition.

So stop panicking and go aound screaming your heads off ttaht SNSD has 'flopped horrendously'.

If you wanna see what is flop, then go find a group that has disbanded and look at their results.

  • 2 weeks later...

We should not be asking what the questions are,

if it makes the girls and audience uncomfortable and pissed off

then the last thing we want is to talk about it or spread it.

Okay?

Lets hope the show edits them out or at least cuts it short without trying to stir shit,

and lets hope the girls handle it nicely and give the media no chance to take potshots at them.

Since our girls aren't there, I don't really care who performs the encore.

Put it this way, if SNSD got to choose, which group do you think they will want to have performing the encore if they themselves can't be there?

I am sure no one wants to see an empty stage.

SNSD and SM would not want to make things awkward for KBS anyway.

I rest my case,

Getting upset over something like this................

Is jessica still mention-able here? Her name is still in the poll....

To avoid any drama and give antis and trolls a chance to stir shit, I would suggest posting her news in her own thread, unless it has some direct connection with our 8 girls.
