So you don`t like Mr Mr? I was expecting you to like it for some reason. :hurr:

On paper, the title track sounded great but the execution of it just didn't work. It feels mismatched without the cataclysmic finale where the song exploded into anarchy that pulled the arbitrary parts into a full piece like IGAB or even the bland cohesiveness of The Boys.

I would have honestly preferred another Dsign Music track, even if it where to sound like Love&Girls which is actually very well produced,  albeit demeaning that SNSD as 24 year old women would release it.

now i will say having another release this year...LATER in the year is something i really want...but i do agree with SM taking the time with there next album...find good producers, good songwriters...just an overall good team to make this a well thought out put together album...i would also like SNSD to experiment alittle bit to..i have so much on my mind i want to say but i cant seem to bring it to paper when i try to explain it...frustrating.. :omg:

SNSD make millions a year, an investment in a top producer in the pop field Max Martin/Dr Luke/STARGATE/Bloodshy is more than feasible for two songs; a promoted buzz single a la Dancing Queen and the comeback track. This would also help create a definitive sound that the reminder of the mini/album could pursue to ensure coherency.

this is irrelvant! but because of your signature, im not watching mob wives and watched a part of big ang's show

Big Ang should have a cameo in the next SNSD video.

Do you think these people can actually compose for anyone if the paycheck is big enough ? Looking at their past work as producers, it feels like they only work for people they really want to collaborate with, especially Max Martin and Dr Luke (I know STARGATE worked with Japanese artist JASMINE once or twice). I'm not sure they'd be interested in working with a K-Pop group, but who knows.

I'm also part of the minority who doesn't necessarily want SNSD to collaborate with American producers. A famous producer doesn't really guarantee better or catchier songs than what they're releasing right now. But it would be interesting, I guess.

The bulk of their singles are produced by Westerners so that point doesn't make sense.

Furthermore, STARGATE have frequently expressed interest in producing for SNSD on Twitter while Dr. Luke and Max Martin accept anyone with enough

If you look closely at their production discography's though, you will see that certain labels and management teams prefer certain producers - RCA/previously JIVE worked very closely with Max Martin, other labels have done the same with Red One and whatnot. It is purely about preference and money.

I meant that I don't understand why some people absolutely want SNSD to work with famous American producers. They've worked with Western producers before and it's silly to want big names just for the sake of it. The fact that a producer has made good tunes in the past doesn't mean everything they do is bound to be good and encounter success in Korea. The Underdogs have composed quite a few quality hits in the US and Mr. Mr. is still getting mixed reviews.

It would be a nice marketing move from SM to bring such producers though. But I'm not certain it's necessary quality-wise  .

Big names are the big names because they, time on time again, pioneer trends and create smashes. All I want is high quality pop music and they are the most likely way of getting that because The Underdogs certainly aren't serving that up. I don't care who makes it as long as I get it and to reiterate, big producers would have the biggest chance of creating that.

The fact that, take, Max Martin is still churning out quality pop music and #1's 20 years later is a reflection of his capabilities. The fact that The Underdogs have rarely been used to create anything but album filler speaks volumes.

So basically, big name producers won't guarantee quality but they are certainly the most likely to deliver.

I forgot to add... I loved the backup dancer idea in the vid and those outfits in the ending scene are perfect!!! Overall this mv was very different from the conventional 'box room' which was so enjoyable and refreshing^^

About the hate/stupid comments SNSD are receiving for both mv and song, the best thing to do is ignore them and not feed the trolls what they want. I feel most of the time the comments from 'you know who' are fuelled with the fact their bias group had a terrible period of disappointment/delays where the only way to make themselves feel better is to diss others. To be honest, SNSD will always be queens and have nothing to lose from this comeback. So what if another group supposedly did 'better' than them? For the past couple of years sure there has been other groups that had hit songs but that hasn't changed the game, it's not enough to reach SNSD's level...not even close. By the end of the year, people who hated ALWAYS change their minds when they're snatching those awards + shutting the haters up, a great example is IGAB. Those comments I seen before were horrendous with endless bashing but now those same people 'love' the song?? LOL Being lonely at the top has its cons haha  We just need to remember who always wins in the end and most importantly love SNSD for their music! A bunch of pathetic comments attempting to bash them will not dent my belief in my 9 goddesses and nor should it to you! Enjoy the music and bad-ass choreo coming our way^^

Sorry I had to rant somewhere

You need to stop, as well as an abundance of people in this thread, dispelling any form of criticism as "trolling".

Believe me, I genuinely want to like everything SNSD release but this is embarrassing. The song was bland, the release was tragic and demeaning, the music video was incoherent as well as badly filmed and horrifically executed while the choreography was some of their worst in their 7 year careers.

If you like it, great, flash the cash at the nearest online store. However, I, as a fan, well honestly, after a series of poor releases and sub-par quality, I don't know where I stand with SNSD, am unequivocally shocked at what we have been expected to eat up and what SNSD have been given.

You don`t understand do you? Yoona is a household figure in Korea , one of the most popular stars in Korea, she could be even greater if given chance. Hyo ,Yuri and Sunny have to stay with SNSD and deal with treatment they are given cause without it there is not much they can do. They are dependent of SNSD fame. Sooyoung has her constant MC job and she is really good at that. So she can always do that when shes done with SNSD even if she doesn`t act.

Yoonas thing is acting and she doesn`t need SNSD to get leading roles on major broadcast networks. SM can always find her good roles like they do with Go Ara and Lee Yeon Hee. But the problem is Yoona has this idol image with SNSD that is like a mark on her back.

This is not my bias talking, if it was like that i would be complain about Taeyeon too but there is really nothing to complain. Tae is been given her rightful place in the group, she gets to sing (what she likes to do the most) ,she gets to be in sub unite, she gets OSTs etc.

Yoona gets one acting projects every 2 years. Freaking Sulli gets to film two movies in one year but Yoona had to wait three years to get her next acting project after Cinderella Man and than almost two years after Love Rain.

All i`m saying is Yoona should get better treatment, this has nothing to do with other girls, i am talking only about Yoona. :._.:

STOP.

in the context of SNSD lol. Honestly I don't expect kpop MVs to be on the same level as western MVs, but thats just me. Gotta love that Bad Romance MV though

I hold K-Pop videos to the same standard as Western videos. There is some acknowledgment to the fact that there is 9 members and a resulting plot based music video could be difficult to execute but nevertheless, SNSD make enough money for SM for them to make a good video with good production.

Latest, I feel like Sm forget Seohyun. No endorsement, Cf, or photoshoot, mc work for her and less lines of course. I even dont know she has still The Face Shop or Tommy Hilfiger. It is sad. Just wanna share.

Likewise, you could say that Seohyun has been focused on a lot since 2011. She has been given increasingly large amount of lines, is involved in SNSD's only sub-unit, reaps the benefits of increasing lines through increased presence in music videos and performances in regards to screentime and this trend has yet to show any signs of slowing down.

Regardless, you are, presumably, a fan of Seohyun, not her endorsements.

ik but i hope K-SONEs will change that basic fanchant to the previous one

this one is to basic & simple. god waeyo~

SNSD's best performance remains The Great Escape & Mr Taxi at the MTV VMAJ 2011, a performance without fanchants.

The arrangement was a MESS. Foreshadowing IGAB tbh. I prefer the MAMA version with the original with the Teddy Riley remix. It sounded far better live though, the studio version is tinny as get out.

I still think if SNSD was given more than 2 days ahead of digimons like Sistar, Big Bang and IU, SNSD would still come out on top. Only BusBus can win with only 3 days to fight, and that's because they are explosive AND loved

What we can agree on is SNSD's digital power is waning, although, this is purely because of horrific A&R on SM's part. Their music clearly isn't resonating with the public, instead their digital success is largely attributable to their undisputed brand power.

Imho, they reached their peak the moment they were called NGG. It's been pretty much a constant ride at the top for the last few years.

I studied business in college, and I think the opportunity for SNSD to be more renowned worldwide is right in front of SM's doorstep. I am frustrated at them right now. Look at Simon Cowell handling 1D, he knew they could achieve higher after their first few hit songs, and now they're approaching the title as the only "billion dollar boy group".

I swear, Tiffany does a better job of managing the group than the company. Taeyeon could be in charge of marketing. Yuri/Sooyoung could take more parts in composing songs, Hyoyeon can do the choreography. And others can also help in areas where they are strongest. So, that's basically what would happen if SNSD went independent. I doubt that would happen but it's a nice fantasy.

Maybe in 2011-early 2012 you might have been right but any chance of worldwide releases and whatnot is dying out as we speak.
