SNSD have certainly earned that title, the tile actually meaning something in Korea. However, when will the 'nation's girl group' actually start proving their musical worth as opposed to their media and entertainment monopoly?

That's why I said song too.

The digital chart performance depends on 2 or 3 things mainly:

- group/artist

- song

- PR

 

Group/artist = how famous the group is, if people anticipate the song either because they like their previous songs or because they are well known and recognized or they support them. ==> Explosive early sales mostly.

Example: PSY - Gentleman, IATB, IGAB, FIL.

 

Song - Songs people like or talk about a lot. A good song can do very well despite not being that anticipated if people like it. ==> Longevity mostly.

Example: Bar Bar Bar, WYN, Stupid In Love, Cherry Blossom Ending, Roly Poly.

 

PR - Needed to get people to listen to the song in the first place (famous artists like SNSD and Big Bang gets lots of "free" PR as people anticipate their releases and talk about the groups).

Example: Chocolat still does poorly despite releasing good songs as they're not well-known.

I think there will be no repackage. They will release a full album sometimes this year.

I don't want another release this year. I want SM to devote time contacting guaranteed hit makers, crafting an album which actually resonates with a majority of people for once. SNSD's releases for the last 3 years have not been experimental with the exception of IGAB's arrangement so the end product is unjustifiable. For a song to not be experimental yet receive such scathing reviews speaks volumes with The Boys, IGAB and Mr.Mr. relying PURELY on SNSD's brand power, although, the The Boys and IGAB were accompanied by cleanly executed marketing. 

So you don`t like Mr Mr? I was expecting you to like it for some reason.

I am sorry , i`m a make up freak and i always laugh at people who can`t tell obvious difference between make up/no make up face. Sorry if i offended you , it had nothing to do with Sooyoung.

IGAB choreo was a "girls talk" between various girls. This time I'd like a choreo with sorte of 2 "team".

The singer line with feminin-classico-sexy-nurse? outfits and the dance line answering them with suits and performing a powerfull dance breack in the look of the performances above.

 

 

Or just a mix of both styles of the teasers. And maybe the girls wearing the woman and thos wearing the men's style could variing with the performance.

lol To be honest I was looking for this one first but couldn't find it on Youtube 

I loved this performance mostly because of Soona slayage.I know they are considered lesser dancers to Hyori but here they totally outshined them - fierce,flawless,sharp, on point, owning it. And although i hope for Hyoyeon to stand in a middle of Mr Mr dance break ,cause she deserves it as a main and best dancer, the dance line looks the best and most composed when it`s either Yoona or Sooyoung in the middle. Not only cause of their height but cause their precision takes your eyes away from possible mistakes.

The video was ridiculous, a mess, after this i truly believe SM lost a very important part and had to reshoot in hurry. The editing is a mess, you can barely see anything and the dance looks so simple and basic. After IGAB amazing choreography we get this?

 

And i just released Yoona has ONE line in entire song.

 

 

Disappointed.

the line distribution kinda disappointed me. after watching the MV, i realized some lines i thought it belonged to the dance line, were actually from the vocal line. which is fine, i know they're obviously better singers, but still, i'm quite sad...

 

Yoona, i thought she had 4 lines, but in reality, she only has 1

Yuri has 3

Sooyoung has 5

Hyoyeon has 7 which surprised me a lot but i'm happy for her

 

and poor Seo, although she's not a dancer, only got 3

 

this song was full of TaeNySicSun (in terms of lines)

 

i think even IGAB has a better line distribution, tbh

Don`t get me started on line distribution. 

 

Seriously Yoona should just quit SNSD if they are gonna treat her like this. She is famous and popular enough to be star on her own, and we all know acting is her true love. Honestly it`s sad that she has more time to shine when she is doing solo projects than when she is with her own group. Too bad she is so attached to the group and loves SNSD more than anything, cause she would honestly be better on her own at this point.

besides, the producer decides the lines, not SM

I won`t calm down i`m sick of SM and the way they treat girls like this. It`s not just about Yoona it`s this entire comeback, i`m just sick and tired of their bullshit.

I'm a yoona fan too but without SM, she wouldn't be where she is rn. She may not have much lines in SNSD but SM does a really good job promoting her in her dramas, cfs, she became the most well-known SNSD girl in public, etc stuff outside SNSD.

Besides, she was already exposed too much during Gee, Genie, etc eras..

 

I appreciate that she loves SNSD and her members so much despite her being such a huge -rep idol unlike some very well-known members in other groups where they're greedy to get a solo and want to get out of the group once they got so big and they let fame get into their heads (this mostly happens to western stars though). That means Yoona is not selfish.

That`s what i was saying, those are all her solo stuff not the stuff with the group. She lost her purpose in SNSD, before she was visual ,the FACE,always in the middle with most screen time, now even Hyoyeon gets more time in their videos than Yoona.

 

I never said she should leave SM , she should just concentrate on her solo career more. She is in her best years, and this is the time for her to improve her craft, to do different thing, try new roles. Because of her image in SNSD, she is been limited to same type of roles, always pushed into projects that have no real weight, no real plot, no real climax. And her characters are almost all the same, Nam Dajung in PMAI started out well but ended up being typical female character she always does.

 

What i`m saying is Yoona can do so much more and at this point in her life SNSD is really holding her back.She gave more than enough to this group, it`s time to be selfish after seven years and make room for her own future. Because when SNSD is over , she is not gonna be singer or dancer, she is preparing to be actress. And tbh SNSD is hindering her progress.

I get your point but I personally think that we shouldn't judge Yoona's exposition and presence in the group just by one MV. She's the face and because of that gets promoted a lot - just this year, she's already had two photoshoots, she has various promotions, etc. Now one ever said that the face will always get most screentime in the MVs or most lines and there's eight more girls in the group. True, Yoona didn't get much in this MV but she still got some screentime and she wasn't neglected in the past MVs. About her acting, we don't really know if it's the way you described it, maybe she does have a say in what roles she's going to play.

 

Also, what you said can be easily applied to some of the other girls. Say, Hyoyeon. She's SNSD's dancing machine but up until now she's had very little screentime and few chances to showcase her talents. One may say she should just leave and focus on doing what she loves, because SM is simply hiding her talents. Same for e.g. Sunny who often is treated more like a supporting vocalist when you compare her lines to TaeJeTiSeo. But yet they're together as a group and that's how they got to where they are now. So yes, they all have roles but there's also the fact that it's nine girls, so sometimes it's nice to see more of the members who don't usually get that much attention.

try to put youself in Hyo, Soo, Yul or Sunny's situation....

You don`t understand do you? Yoona is a household figure in Korea , one of the most popular stars in Korea, she could be even greater if given chance. Hyo ,Yuri and Sunny have to stay with SNSD and deal with treatment they are given cause without it there is not much they can do. They are dependent of SNSD fame. Sooyoung has her constant MC job and she is really good at that. So she can always do that when shes done with SNSD even if she doesn`t act.

 

Yoonas thing is acting and she doesn`t need SNSD to get leading roles on major broadcast networks. SM can always find her good roles like they do with Go Ara and Lee Yeon Hee. But the problem is Yoona has this idol image with SNSD that is like a mark on her back.

 

This is not my bias talking, if it was like that i would be complain about Taeyeon too but there is really nothing to complain. Tae is been given her rightful place in the group, she gets to sing (what she likes to do the most) ,she gets to be in sub unite,she gets OSTs etc.

Yoona gets one acting projects every 2 years. Freaking Sulli gets to film two movies in one year but Yoona had to wait three years to get her next acting project after Cinderella Man and than almost two years after Love Rain.

 

All i`m saying is Yoona should get better treatment, this has nothing to do with other girls, i am talking only about Yoona.

Does it matter? She's the highest paid member, the most popular in Sone, the "2nd" (1st) most popular in Korea, the most popular in Japan. She has the most cash of any member. In the public, is the most valuable. She is gorgeous. She is healthy. She is loved by many. She is adored and admired by many. She is an actor, is EVERYWHERE, and SNSD has the privilege of having her in the group. She has privilege of being half of SNSD's public appeal. <The fact that she's not the only person you can see anymore doesn't  mean that she has lost her purpose, you moron. It means that the appeal for more members is growing, and she doesn't need to be blown up on the front screen to be the face of the group anymore. Please tell me again, what you are whining about?

Than give her more time to do acting , if she is gonna be a pretty backdrop in SNSD videos from now on, i`m fine with that, but don`t keep her from doing solo acting projects and improve her craft.

I did thats why i`m saying this .If she waits another 2 years for next project it will hinder her steady progress. She was good in PMAI now she needs a step up something more challenging, something outside of her comfort zone.
