This is one of the reasons why I don't want SNSD to get individual social media like twitter, or in this case, instgram.

Fans will compare and argue .

Comparisons hurt people's feelings, and upsets fans and divides the fandom, antis will be laughing and even Soshi themselves can get affected.

 

In a perfect world, all nine get equal support and popularity.

But this is not a prefect world. The girls different style and talents and solo activities mean there will never be equal support, inside and outside the fandom.

I am under no illusion that all sones are OT9. There are plenty of Sones who stan only a few of the members, the other girls are just 'spill-over love', so to speak.

 

Lets be honest, SNSD has nine girls, with totally different styles of beauty, different talents and skills and personalities. To truly love all nine requires effort and time and a open mind and eyes for many diverse talents. 

Some who love great singing for example, will always love Taeyeon more than the dancers in the group. There will always be different degrees of support for individual members.

Hyoyeon is at a disadvantage, becos dancing ( popping and locking to be precise ) is her primary forte, but it is less easily appreciated compared to singing and acting. How many people can really appreciate good dancing?

But almost everyone appreciates a good voice or good acting on TV.

 

My favourite 3 in the group are 3Yeon, but I will never expect Hyo to have equal popularity with Yoona or Taeyeon for example, not even equal attention.

 

Everyone has different reason for stanning the group, as long as the whole group gets support , I am satisfied. Individual support will never be equal, and everyone support different members to different levels. Love should not be forced, I do not want Sones to feel obliged to support members in solo. It is their right to cheer for whoever they want.

I want real fans for Hyoyeon, if she has to work harder and have more solo activities to get solo support, then so be it. That is the real popularity I want her to have, not support becos she is in the group.

I know it hurts, but this is the real world, support has to be earned rightfully. 

 

SNSD can be considered a miracle of sorts, for a girl group to have so many fans and public support is unheard of before. We cannot start to have unrealistic expectations of fans. 

As long as the whole group has support , I am already very glad and thankful. 

No Idol group has equal popularity and attention for all members, SNSD is already considered to be one of the group with the most relative equal attention and support and solo activities for all members.

I am already immensely happy and thankful that even the least popular member has more fans than entire groups 

 

And are we starting to lose perspective here? 100K in 2 weeks for an unconfirmed instagram account is by any means, incredible. Don't compare within the group, compare this to others.

 

Put it this way, there can never be fair equal comparison, unless all the members get instagram at the same time and post equal number of photos and comments. 

 

This is pointless, and imagine if SNSD stops instagram becos of this. 

Dividing the fandom.... even if we don't mean it.

 

Appreciate what we have and what SNSD has achieved, its already a miracle right now. A female dancer specialising in popping and locking getting so much support and public recognition everywhere, its a miracle if I ever saw one.

And the usual complaints about screentime , positions, singing parts, hairstyles , clothes. Thats the interesting thing about this fandom. SNSD is crazy versatile, so they attract fans with a wide range of taste and preferences. Some like electro tunes, some like catchy, happy songs, some like heavy beats and cool lyrics etc etc. 

They also have NINE members, so everySone has their fav bias and wants to see more of them and see them looking pretty and showing their talents. 

 

Hence the complaints. I don't mind, becos the complaints means we care and we want them and we focus on them. 

This is much better than other groups who have only a certain type of fans with a certain taste, becos the group is not versatile and only attracts fans of one type of taste.

 

Just remember, we receive as much joy as we give, just be happy and enjoy as much as you can, you will find SNSD giving you more enjoyment. Don't just like one style of music, SNSD is versatile, so its the best opportunity to learn and appreciate other types of music genre that you don't like previously.

The drag queens are probably Sones who saw the ad for 1000 female fans to shoot the PV , they decided to gamely show up dressed as ladies and try their luck. The director and PD probably thought it was amusing and interesting and asked to participate despite being obviously males.

 

SM got them for free.

As for the yatch, just permission from the owners is enough I think, since they were already moored there.

their history of fail cameraman and director is probably longer than the list of SNSD awards wins. MBC and SBS wins by a long shot, even if they mess up too.

I went slow-mo on the LOVE&GIRLS PV , and I spotted them drag queens at the approx 2:39 -2:41, and after the 3 minute mark, they appeared a few more times.

Oh there are plenty of things I wish for to happen. But there is a big difference between

 

Wishing for something to happen

 

vs

 

Going fucking mental because something you wished for didn't happen or because something other than what you wished for happened.

 

 

 

And I'm sorry but some of the people here who are doing the latter are seriously completely detached from reality.

 

First off these people seem to think that SM is just a big black box and if you want something, that something will magically just pop out of that big black box.

(When in reality SM is 10 human beings working with their artists to try come up with good songs, concepts, dances and videos for their artists to perform)

 

And secondly these people seem to think that the entire music scene in Korea and Japan is just like having a show for the parents of everyone in the class back in elementary school where everyone who has prepared something will get an equal opportunity to show whatever they've prepared for everyone. And afterwards everyone will cheer happily.

(When in reality it's all about the money and thousands of people trying to make their living. But most of them are failing pretty fucking hard to make that living on their music)

You probably know, plenty of Kpop fans are teenagers, that is how the world works to them. 

I personally wish everyone in Kpop is a happy family, that money does not play a part in deciding things, everyone gets equal opportunities and equal success, and all nine girls are super successful and do whatever they want and all fans are happy.

 

Oh well, I grew up and realised the world isn't fair. The young fans will realise that eventually. 

 

I will never take SNSD's success for granted , competition is always fierce, and opportunities are hard to come by. Any chance for any of the girls to improve and show themselves is a golden opportunity , there are too many Idols out there screaming for attention and asking for comeback and acting in dramas and snatching CFs. SNSD maybe at the top right now, but there is a whole horde of people waiting for them to slip up and snatch their throne. Which is why despite what I want is not what I am getting , I will wholeheartedly appreciate and support any and all activities by anyone of the girls, subunit, solo projects, photoshoots, TV show appearances or whatever. All the girls need our full support, as much as we can give.

Its a testimony to SNSD's incredible success that Sones have the luxury of having every member get opportunities for solo work and very successful solo work at that too. We don't even consider failure as a possibility anymore. If we have reached a point where some feel they wanna flex their muscles at SM and ignore certain members just to show their displeasure at SM not giving them what they want............. 

 

You know what they say, ........arrogance is the first step to downfall and failure.

 

I do not presume to tell fellow Sones how to behave or who to support or how to spend your time and energy as a Sone. You do what you like.

I personally could not stand watching Fashion King after a few episodes , as much as I LOVE my KkabYul to death. It was a sucky drama.

If you genuinely do not like K-dramas, then you could and should skip all the dramas by SNSD members.

If you genuinely find TTS Twinkle to be a lousy song and subunit music-wise , then by all means, ignore them. Just as how some Sones ignore certain song releases by SNSD ( like IGAB and The Boys ) becos its not their cup of tea. Some Sones ignore the ballads like AMLIFY and Time machine because they prefer dance tracks or electro-pop. Some find Jessica's acting boring. Its all fine and good. 

I do not expect all Sones to love everything SNSD does, neither does SNSD themselves. They aren't little kids.

If you don't like it, then don't support it. 

But if you make up your minds to totally not support any of the girls even before seeing the results of their hard work, that is just...... 

Just becos you don't get what you want, you choose to ignore the efforts of the girls, you don't even give them a chance??? You decide to ignore their efforts just to show your displeasure at SM??? 

 

At least listen to TTS new song and album. give them a fair chance. 

If you genuinely dislike it, then by all means ignore them. 

SNSD has gotten so far not just because they are talented and work hard, its also because they are united and share their efforts and their teamwork. Working together and helping each other is their strength, they said it numerous times. The girls all support each other in solo work. Should we not follow their example and support all? 

 

Give them all a fair chance. Like how we became fans in the first place. Like how we give other groups a chance too. SNSD has not forgotten their 'Choshim', 'Original mind or Rookie mentality', they still work really hard like they just debuted, I hope Sones have not forgotten as well. What made us fans in the first place,  think about it.

 

Talking about wants....

What I want is.....

I want SunSica to get more OSTs , but if Taengoo gets another one, its equally awesome.

I want HyoYoonYul to do a subunit, but I also realise the chance for commercial success is realistically very low.  I will settle for a dance special performance then, just like the SMTown concert one..

Though I am sure SNSD understands the market and the rules of the game very well, even if many fans do not. The success of anyone of them still raises the profile and fame and popularity of the entire group. 

 

That is one reason why SNSD dominates, they divide and conquer. In 2012, YoonYulSooSic did dramas, SunHyo did variety and TV , and TaeSeoFany did music, they were everywhere despite being away in japan for half the year and no group music release. They had OSTs, musicals, solo photoshoots etc etc.

In their area of interest and expertise, they show their abilities. If they all wanted to just purely sing, SM would have formed a choir group, not an Idol group. The very strength of Idol groups is their versatility and wide range of talents. Some sing well, some dance well, some are funny and witty , some act well, some have beauty and charisma, some speak well, etc etc.

And SNSD is the epitome of the perfect Idol group. 

 

The way I see it, equal opportunities does not mean equal activities. I would want them to play their strengths. Hyo on DWTS is perfect, I guess SM was waiting for that chance. Next step will be a chance for Sunny to appear as a regular on a Variety show like Soo with Hanbam, and maybe Jessica on some fashion/beauty talk show, hopefully Hyoyeon as a judge on some dance competition.

 

But what I really really want right now, is Yoona getting another drama and SunSica getting a chance for OST ballads. Some producer with a sharp eye please cast Yoona then ask SunSica to sing a duet for the drama OST please. 

 

Looking forward to TTS and SNSD english album or whatever language they wanna sing in.

I dunno about U-kiss, but SM is a listed company though, they have shareholders to answer to. The U-Kiss scenario is not likely to happen at SM, look at Blackbeat and CSJH and IsakNJiyeon.

Simply put, If the girls don't earn money, then SM don't earn money , its not profitable, then the result is , disbandment.

I will always want SM to make profits, not because I care about the bank account of SM executives and Kim Young-min, but because I want SNSD to continue to exist in Kpop. SM is a company, they will always prioritise money. 

 

But then at the same, time, we are fans, so dreaming and hoping is what we are supposed to do I guess.

Its okay to be unrealistic and dream about fantastic things once in a while. Its part of being a fan. It might probably never happen, but then again, SNSD has been known to perform miracles. 

 

We scream and cheer when we are excited and happy, we pout and grumble when we are disappointed, we whine and complain when we don't get what we want, we spazz and laugh when we get ByunTae-Shidae and Dorky Shidae, we dance and sing a long when we have a new MV.

Its part of what makes Kpop and a fandom so interesting. 

Take the good with the bad and we enjoy our Soshism.

 

To remove the dreams and wishes and spazzing of the fans is to remove a very important part of Kpop.
