[TRANS] @ch0sshihttp://bit.ly/YDJ2Yu According to this article, SME stated, “Yuri’s appearance/participation in ‘No Breathing’ is being discussed positively. But it has not yet been decided on.â€

:unimpressed:

SM. We want it.

SM should think about film exports

I LOVE those outfits. They feel like a rock n'roll version of "The Boys" outfits.

it's like a mix between The Boys and one of those IGAB outfits

regarding Yoona's acting... here's what I think

You Are My Destiny - Her acting was kinda basic, just decent for a rookie actress playing the lead role. What made her famous was her role and character she played in the drama. The script was just the typical soap-drama that many Korean likes, and it's a long term drama (over 100 episodes) and it is the thing that makes viewers feel attached to her character.

Cinderella Man - Poor script and weak plot. Nothing much to say.

Love Rain - The role she played here was more subtle but refined. I say it was a bigger improvement than her acting in YAMD. Korean just didn't really enjoy the whole slow paced storyline, although to some critics and serious drama/film reviewers think that the drama is actually quite artistic.

So... some girls go to the US?? Ummm... why does it make me at once think about a random English album...

they're going to the US separately due to schedules and stuffs. everyone is going, not some.

Yes. They were the most successful group in the UK. All of their songs were hits. And deservingly may I add. As I said, their discography is flaw free.

why are they not famous internationally?

I am not satisfied with the promotion in Korea or Japan and I will not talk about

the tour because it is too painful for me ,but , from being dissatisfied to HOPING

for a flop , it is too much .

tbh idk why fans think this is going to help SNSD, when definitely it will not. A flop

will be demoralizing for the girls, their reputation as the top group will suffer , and

both companies , Korean and Japanese,  can decide to promote other groups if

they think their investment will not bring profit.

Personally I don't have any argument about marketing and promotion, I'm only concerned about the quality of songs.

Lol, I love this kind of things XD

Not a criticism against you: I just want to understand what people (and you, if you want to answer) mean with "quality of a song".

I often see people arguing about the quality of songs (not only SNSD songs, not only K-pop), but I see only a lot of confusion.

What are the criteria which make a song a "quality song"?

Is quality determined by objective parameters or subjectives and personal tastes?

It's clear that personal preferences can influence the judgement of a song, but quality should be something that goes beyond the subjectivity.

I mean I can like or dislike a song independently of its objective quality: subjectivity consist of tastes (about genres, about voices, about sounds), emotions, musical culture, age, gender, habits...and sometimes (why not) a bit of  bias.

So, what make the quality of a song?

I think that when people talk about quality should balance subjectivity with more debatable arguments, like melody, harmony, tempo, rhythm, the structure of the song, the meaning of the text, etcetera.

When someone say "this song has no quality" only because he dislike it I can't answer back, it's unfair bacause I can't argue about tastes, which are anyway more considered than quality when we talk about sales: for example, is Gee a quality song? It was successfull, many people liked it, but I don't think it has more quality than Love&Girls: both are simple and very basic fast tempo songs (I don't like Gee, but i like Love&Girls...de gustibus).

If somebody want to express his opinion about this matter, please answer with rationality and courtesy: I'm a sensitive girl  :meow:

i'll make this easy ... i define quality song is a song that is not teeny bopper standard.

this is how i would describe a quality pop song.

if we're talking about quality metal song, then it's going to be different.

Congratulations Girls’ Generation LOVE&GIRLS is No.1 on CDJapan 2013 Kpop Top 100 Album Chart.

CD Japan consist of very little percentage of Japanese CD sales though.

While it's a good thing, it doesn't actually reflect the overall sales in Japan, not as much as Tower Records, or even HMV Japan.

Will there really be a positive correlation between MV release and chart placements?

MV release will bring back attention to the comeback activities

there will also be broadcast points

also it might get new people to listen to the song in case they haven't been paying attention to the pre-release

it's like coming back twice

Actually I'm not THAT worried about the lack of promotion at this moment. This is sort of how US artists promote right? They let the song float by itself on the artist's star power alone, then kick in promotions later by releasing the MV and having performances.

exactly. which is why US artists usually have better longetivity.

Can anyone guide me on help to support my Girls officially? by purchasing their album from Melon/Bugs/Mnet etc

buying from iTunes doesn't count in Korea Chart from what i heard..

buying from itunes is pretty much useless in terms contributing to chart performance

- they don't count for Korean charts

- only purchase from iTunes US store counts for Billboard chart

if you could access Korean music portals like Melon/Bugs/Mnet (in any possible way), you could help by downloading the song and also streaming the songs using their web player

you could try purchasing music from Soribada english site (kpop.soribada.com/En) but somehow the site is yet to update with Mr.Mr., I'm not sure what's the problem. it was quite instant last time with IGAB.

you could also purchase a CD copy of the album. contributes very little to chart performance, but still helps either way

Who cares about the mv views anyway. Ugh so sick of sones sometimes. How is it even possible to get 10 million views or whatever.

it matters, it contributes to Billboards Charts (for US viewers only tho)

i hope we get a repackage or a sub unit this year.

there is no point of repackaging an EP

another EP or straight to a full album is reasonable

in 2009, they had Gee and Tell Me Your Wish ... both are EPs

Yeah he wrote it.

For everyone else that doesn't know the difference: Revenue - Expenses = Profit

It'd be a nice thing from Avex to do though since they've been partners for a long time if they take from profit and not revenue.

what's with avex?
