The only set rule for artist threads (outside of the site-wise rules) is to refrain from personal attacks and name calling. and overall trolling.

Outside of that, people are free to discuss whatever they want about the artist in question. or just post pictures all day.

In the end, all of the arguments revolve what we think is best for the group.

Yeh I know, I just want people to chill out a little bit. Its been pages of the same thing and it feels like going round in circles.

Thanks :)

Hi guys,

Galaxy Supernova!! Love the dance, the song has to grow on me yet, but it is very catchy

About people complaining about Jessica's lines in this song, and well other jap songs, I think when it comes to japanese promotions, the accent when singing in jap has a big influence in the lines distribution, as you see:

Line distribution (aprox)

Taeyeon: 4 lines

Jessica: 3 (2 are english "raps")

Sunny: 2

Tiffany: 2

Hyoyeon: the eh eh part only

Yuri: 2 lines

Sooyoung: 4 lines

Yoona: the oh oh part only

Seohyun: 4 lines

This is only a quick estimate as I saw the video, and we know that when it comes to japanese Sooyoung and Seohyun are the best therefore have more lines, especially in GS for Sooyoung; Taeyeon's case we know why; the others have party equal lines except HY & YN that are considered the "weaker" vocals in SNSD.

So in my opinion (speculation as I am not japanese nor know japanese) I think that aside from vocal ability, the accent is an important factor when it comes to distribution of lines in japanese songs.

People should stop complaining about this, as they are 9, it is impossible for all to have a good amount of lines, and if one of the supporting vocals as in YR,SY,YN and HY to have a few more lines, one of the main vocals gotta give so.

Let's just enjoy GS, that they all look gorgeous even if the outfits arent the best.

SM knows about the  #Sooyoung2013 trend :datass:

she should..i think this MV was the perfect example of what Sooyoung is capable of doing....i'm very proud of her

look, about the japanese fluency thing....that doesn't really mean anything

this is actually one of the few japanese songs where Sooyoung has lots of lines....

even though she's the only fluent member, the main vocals will always (well, almost always) sing more than her....that's obvious

but still, i think they gave Sooyoung's voice justice with the second japanese album...she had decent lines and i'm hoping for great things on their third album, since Galaxy supernova will be in it (i think)

also, the line distribution is wrong

it's something like this (counting the adlibs)

Taeyeon-7 lines

Jessica-6 lines (still wondering why people are complaining so much, Taeyeon only has one more line than her)

Sunny-8 lines (there's many "oh's" and "nanana's" from Sunny, so it makes her automatically sing more lines)

Tiffany-10 lines (because of her adlibs at the end)

Hyoyeon-4 lines

Yuri- 3 lines

Sooyoung- 5 lines

Yoona- 4 lines

Seohyun- 5 lines

http://colorcodedlyrics.com/2013/09/girls-generation-galaxy-supernova#comment-7239

and, the colorcoding is still incomplete

Yeah the line distribution was just a quick thing as I am at work and had to do it quickly, and I didn't considered a lot of things.

Well yeah, I mean Im not taking credit from Sooyoung, she did great and her vocals match the upbeat song but I really do think that accent/pronunciation, not so much fluency, has an important part when it comes to line distribution, because I see it this way:

When a foreign artist sings in your language, and they have a "foreign" accent/pronunciation, the song is not that pleasant, because well you cannot not notice the accent in the singning so it comes out a little weird; but if they don't have an accent or the accent/pronunciationgoes according the language (don't know if I explained myself properly) you won't be focusing on how they sing but more into the song so its a lot more pleasant.

So I am saying that they may have decided to give her more lines because her tone goes according and her japanese accent is not so strong or non existence (don't know as I said, don't speak japanese) so it'll make the song more pleasant for the audience.

Of course there's other things to consider when giving lines to each member, but for me it is an important factor.

It is really good that they have given her the opportunity to showcase her singing skills, as she has mention before.

Guys, you have to see things from a different prespective, Jessica is one of the main vocals, the reasons of why she was given certain lines in this particular song are unknown to us and really, it could be anything, we don't know what happens behind closed doors.

But you have to remember, they are a group of 9, someone always pays the price of spotlight, that doesnt make Jessica or any other less relevant in the group.

Her role as a main vocal will always make her one important part of Soshi songs vocally.

Let's chill and enjoy the spotlight on other members too and in SNSD as a group.

Being a group of 9, they had to learn to leave any egocentric thoughts aside, we should too.

Lmao you guys are still on about Jessica. I honestly think that the reason she's more of a visual in Their Japanese title track is because her Japanese is not as good as other members are. If that is the reason then I understand why SM would give her less lines. I would rather have people say how pretty she looks in performance then dissing her and her poor Japanese. I'm not saying this is the reason since I rarely hear Sica talk be it interviews or concerts, so I have no clue how good her Japanese is lol.

Dudeee my thoughts exactly!

"Q. What is the age gap you can accept in a relationship?
A. 10 years gap"

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but there was an interview 2009 ish I think, where some girls were asked the age gap for a boyfriend and Hyoyeon said like 1 year young and like 5-6 older was ok, and now she is like 10 year gap, having a boyfriend 9 years older, how convenient lol.

I really like how she is managing her relationship, like she is out there doing her thing, nothing is confirmed, because well I guess nobody has asked, maybe because of a company power thing to keep everybody's mouth shut; but she is like always giving hints or making it a lil obvious but keeping things away from the media, like trying to have a relationship as normal as she can.

On other note, I watched Seohyun's on screen kiss and, even though I am a few months younger than her, it felt like watching my little sister kissing someone (and I don't have a little sister), with the other Soshi members I got a little excited but with her and her super proper image is hard to imagine her like this. People say that she probably had her first kiss already but after watching the clip I seriously doubt it. She looks so inexperience, and if she did have her first kiss already it probably was like a peck or something like that.

I'm really anticipating her acting, I want her to show all that hard work and shut people's mouth.

I think we should start thinking that things are going to change.

SNSD is past they 6th year already, meaning we won't see them as much as we used to in previous years, because those years where the hardest, when they had to make and secure their place in the industry and they did, they are on top without any discussion.

With the debut and great success EXO is having, it shouldnt be a surprise that they'll be SME's priority along with SHINee.

I personally think that boys & boy groups move more fans that girls do, because of raging teenages hormones, girls tend to be more expressive when it comes to their favorites, and I am not saying girl groups don't have fangirls because, well I think fangirls are the upper percentage in SNSD's fandom, but maybe its easier to capture girls attention with a group of cute/hot guys, and it helps if they are tanlented and part of SME ( a beast on idol-making). After all, this is the entertainment BUSINESS, money would always be the engine of everything, and SNSD market is secured, now they are focusing on a new and promising one.

As for the girls, they will start doing things they are interesed aside being an idol, forging their futures in the industry as individuals, as they have been doing lately. Loyal fans, will be there through the path, hoping and wishing for new projects, mainly for the reasons we all fell in love at first, music.

Music made me put my eyes on them, and each of them made me stay.

I hope we could put things in perspective to understand thinks further.

In the end, being a Sone is great, with every single thing we live with them.

Good day fellow Sones.

Looking at Interscope's website, SNSD isn't listed. Looking at the wiki page for Interscope, SNSD also isn't listed as a current OR former label artist, so 'officially' SNSD has never been part of Interscope according to Interscope.

Yet we know SMe and Interscope came to some sort of agreement.

SNSD's page says: "Setting their sights on the international market, Girls' Generation signed a contract with Universal Music Group in 2011 to release United States material under Interscope Records." And Universal Music Group IS listed as one of their labels.

But from http://www.universalmusic.com Girls' Generation is nowhere to be found.

Draw from that what you will.

Maybe they won't be officially listed artists until they release something?

For reference:

Wikipedia is not a good reference for anything.

So Bittersweet waking up today to the Marchen Fantasy concert goodies, but also see people complaining about the lack of Yoona and Hyoyeon solos.

I haven't read everything but from what I saw I think it is pretty clear why Yoona didn't have a solo but in Hyoyeon's case, dont you think it is too much be blaming SM right away? that she wasnt given any solo stage, GIVEN. guys? really?

I remember that she had a solo stage previously and it was great both times, I don't see the reason why she wouldnt be GIVEN a solo now that she is in the best moments in her history as a SNSD member.

There are so many things we don't know, everything that happens behind what we see and know, and really it could have been a thousand reasons aside of SM "not given her time for a solo".

We are all allowed to be displeased with not having a solo from her but ranting on an assumed reason it is just ridiculous.

Lets enjoy all the good things we got today as a fandom.

Ok we all know the outcome of these 2 gayos but lets see what is behind that (in my perspective):

  • The girls have comeback preparation going on
  • They had Marchen Fantasy
  • 3 of them have fixed schedules (Yoona's drama, Seohyun's Musical and Sooyoung's MC gig) as minor this can be
  • Their constant trips to Japan

You guys were seriously expecting something else from their part for the Gayos? AND their label is SM, they don't even spend much on music videos because they know their idols are the best marketing itself, after all it is a business, I think that we don't pay attention to that important detail.

Why would you spend so much work on these gayos that don't have a big impact on SNSD (as displeased we all are right now with the performances) when you have more important things going on.

Sadly, these things that I am supposing and other things that I might have overlooked lead to today's poor performance with the GREAT help of SBS crappy work.

People saying that the girls are at fault for their lack of preparation and also saying they are overworked, should rest, etc etc, so what are we talking about here?

This is SNSD 2013 not 2009, where they were still making their way up and where everywhere, now they have an established spot on top of the idol hill and are looking for bigger things, some things are definitely going to change.

I am not  justifying what happened on SBS and KBS gayos but sometimes we have to look at the bigger picture before pointing fingers, I am sure the girls are as displeased or even more than all of us, I am sure they always want to show their best.

On the bright side, we know there is a comeback soon (hoping for slay shi dae), they all looked gorgeous today and how to forget TTS slaying as always.

Man's stupidity is infinite.

Do we have to state the obvious for this to stop?

Some, very specific fans, Hyoyeon's bias in this matter, what to shove down everybody's throats how unfair the fandom is to Hyoyeon because not all are comparing/complaining 24/7 the attention she gets compare to other members.

So she is the least popular member in Korea because of her looks and this we all know it, because of Korea's stupid "beauty standards" and all their superficiality, and this cause SM not give her as much exposure as the other members until what, 2011? 2012? I don't know. Since then she has being showing herself more and more.

But compare this past 1 or 2 years of partially good/good exposure and attention she has been getting overall to the other members and no it cannot compare because most of them have had their time before, her time is now.

Now SM confirms Yoona is dating and is everywhere, because OF COURSE is Yoona (let's not forget that), the girl is not just a beauty (they all are) but fits every fricking Korean beauty standard out there and the entire nation LOVES her. On top of this, she is dating Lee Seunggi, the guy can be at the same scale at her, nice handsome likeable guy, known throught out Korea. So we got this super perfect people, loved by almost all Korea dating, what do you expect?

You cannot compare Hyoyeon's relationship because, first of all it is not confirmed even though everything may say they indeed are dating, vs Yoona's because is Korea where all this starts, they are not in the same level, We know it, SM knows it, the girls know it.

Just because some of us understand this situation and don't flip out everytime we think there is an "injustice" going on for Hyoyeon doesnt mean we are not "real fans" whatever that means.

I am not saying Hyoyeon is any less than any of the others, I find her a beauty, super talented and has a great personality but unfortunately in Korea, for the reasons I stated before, she is not in the same level popularity wise hence the level of exposure this whole thing was given.

And honestly is better for her, Hyoyeon has been dating the guy for maybe we could say a year now and she has been doing a lot of things freely with the guy, on the other hand Yoona has been seeing LSG since September/October in car dates and they caught them right away.

If you guys say you are fans of Hyoyeon or SNSD fans and want the best of her, stop bitching about it and do something positively.

Happy 2014 guys :)

EDIT: As I read icesica's post, I totally agree, also because I don't post it anywhere doesn't mean I don't care, I do not watch EVERYTHING they do, specifically their solo stuff, that doesnt make me any less of a fan.

Today, I was reminiscing the long road SNSD has come and went to the song that made me a SONE, Genie.

For me, it can be the most iconic SNSD song,

And I found this jewel, my personal favorite SNSD performance ever, it might not be the best or more flawless but I love it!

Don't know if that fanaccount its true or not but there have been countless of other occasion when fans got the chance to greet some of the girls and they were nice so by

one saying that they threat them that way it doesnt mean they are nice only when cameras are rolling.

It is easy to judge without knowing the whole story.

Watching a TTS performance I realize that this year might be perfect for a Soshi take over.

With a SNSD & TTS comeback we might be having a great 2014.

Hopefully Mr.Mr or whatever their comeback title track might be it will be flawless and now that TTS is more established they'll have a great song too, this year has all the potential for a full Soshi domination.

Hope I am right :)

Happy beggining of the week.

Hello!

I feel like a junkie in withdrawal with the lack of Soshi comeback ._. I go through my collections of Soshi videos over and over again.

Someone knows where I could watch No Breathing with or withouth Eng subs?

I know that movie wasnt the hit of the summer but I'll like to see Yuri acting on that one, tbh she didn't convince me on Fashion King.

sm will not have snsd comeback when the 2014 sochi winter olympics will be the focus of global attention starting next week...

where koreans will be focusing on their 'national heroes' and music will take a back seat..

You are right; I think its safe to say that the comeback may be late February or early March as the earliest.

Another month of Soshi deprivation *sigh*

I dont know if its because I'm high or what but I was  watching some videos of Jessica's high notes and I am so surprised how actually this princess like super lazy pretty girl

actually makes some effort; I just noticed how little effort she makes and yet portraits some kind of "you are so good that you actually make it seem easy" feel, its amazing.

Sometimes I forget that this girl can actually sing and dance really well.
