After a successful run with popular artists from both Korea and abroad, 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards will be returning to Hong Kong once again for the upcoming year.

 

On March 17, CJ E&M announced that 2014 MAMA will be taking place in Hong Kong on December 3.

“2014 MAMA returns to Hong Kong to leverage the city’s status as a focal point of Asian economy, trade, and cultural diversity,†said Shin Hyung Kwan, Executive Vice President of Mnet. “Bringing together the experience and production know-how of CJ E&EM as well as amazing passion of fans both within and outside Hong Kong, the festival will highlight the incredible power and popularity of Asian music to the world.â€

 

This will be the sixth year the music festival will take place. In 2013’s MAMA, big-named stars in Korea, such as Big Bang, EXO, 2NE1, Rain, SNSD and more attended the show, along with world famous artists including Stevie Wonder, Ylvis, Icona Pop, Aaron Kwon, and more.

 

The festival was broadcasted simultaneously to 94 countries all around the world to approximately 2.4 billion people.

 

With the award show growing in scale and improvement, the 2014 MAMA is already being anticipated for what stars and brilliant performances will be showcased in December.

seriously, I feel like even more sensitive if it's about the girls now. whatever negativities. I just can't with those negatives and "fans". the girls, they love us. they working hard not only for them / their family like others but us as fans. they know how hard how much we "work" and our love for the girls. Soshi members are really my TOP 9 >>>>>>>> others. at first Taeyeon is not my ultimate (my ultimate are Seo Fany Hyo Sica >>>>) and I don't ship her with whoever artists, but now I feel like she is my TOP 1 and my hearts totally hurt even more by those "fans" / antis acts. it's not like I pity her. but I feel like this is wrong, those hates and bad mouth are trash and too much. To be honest, I feel the same thing. I don't care whether someone give me down votes because regardless I will still support SNSD all the way and I have long saved my GG fund for this all out promotions. I've been trying to be cool about this but nowadays, I feel sooo happy scrolling here for updates cause I can see GG enjoying their time until someone posts an update about her. It destroys my mood, instead of being happy and release my stress seeing posts here from SNSD, I feel hatred. Hatred? yes hatred! Don't bother asking why and defend her. That will just cause me to be more hostile towards her. I guess for now I'm not just as understanding as you guys because whenever I see something about her, the only thing flashes to me was the possible members who probably is not involve with all of this like Seohyun, Yoona, Yuri and etc. but still is also enduring all of this hate from the moment she posted something on her SNS. 

 

Probably I'll be cool seeing her updates months from now. I don't know.

I think most of us though we don't voice it out are still sensitive with the things that happened. We are here in this thread because we want to follow and track all things about SNSD members. A lot of us even those who don't have her as bias are still hurt and are currently trying to move on. This is supposed to be our safe haven away from people reminding us constantly of what we have been dealing about. Some sones are trying to be strong amidst of people always criticizing and hating on snsd now, always using her and jumping in all opportunities to hate that sometimes Sones are turning against her because they are annoyed how much hate the girls are dealing currently.

 

It would really be a big help if we all understand that we don't have the same mindset and all we can do now is to be understanding to those who are still in the process of taking all of these in. It doesn't mean forgetting all about her but we are not that stupid not to know where to go when we can't help but miss her, there are threads for that. All we want is understanding.

I'm also one of sones who are still trying to be strong after all this happened & the hate that SNSD & their fandom SONE get. no one will forget her here, I'm sure. no post about her doesn't mean we forget her. I hope they will understand too. especially soon, SNSD will release full album. I thought Party will be a good start for fans but I hope 5th album will be finally a good start. I really hope that we can check this thread without feeling heavy anymore. this thread should be the most safe place / home for SNSD fans.

 

also, though CMIYC is the first era with only 8 members / without her, I really hope starting from 5th album, we don't life in the past anymore. fans who want to support both, just support but I hope they can move on. it's a bit hurt for me to read post like "..if only jess there too..", moreover she is not in SM anymore. I just don't want it will become a habit for them then some end up delusional. like there are a few stories about my other fandom that some I-fans till now give the answer to newbie in KPOP / in our fandom that the group still have 5 complete members. and when those newbies asking again "but there are performances with only half of them?" they have 2 sub-unit. believe it or not it's real ;)

just like my other fave group, I believe SNSD still have a long journey. I believe with new album, there will be new fans that also new in KPOP. so, I really hope the 5th album will become a good start for fans, here too. I think talking about Jessica in relation to her time w/ SNSD (and if they have a reunion ) is okay but not her individual activities now. Like I said before its a raw subject.

 

We were not asking to remove her just put her in spoilers (if you can't really help updating all of us about her) for the meantime and minimize posting about her since she is NO LONGER A MEMBER ANYMORE and we are in the midst of concentrating on the comeback. 

 

All the things you have been updating about her is not SNSD related which most of the Sones are here for. You are posting individual activities and updates that should be posted on her OWN thread. Making a poll with that matter in here is just plain stupidity! A lot of non Sones are lurking in here we can't tell whether all the votes are solely from SONES. If you really wanna post all about her here then we might consider creating a thread solely for current SNSD members. This is sad but this is just the only way we can concentrate on this promotions, continuously keep a positive atmosphere and not have a heavy heart. Do you realize how critical this round of promotions is? Sones have more than enough dealing with haters outside this thread and when they comeback in here they will just be reminded of the exact person who caused the girls to be hated a lot more than they were for years. Do you really think posting about her here don't give us a heavy heart? 

 

Look at us right now. We must be resting now for future promotions and the incoming sleepless nights of voting period yet we are here talking about her. And then what will happen next week? We will be updated that SNSD's MV teasers are out? and next to that post a news about her choosing her own agency and her releasing a chinese album? Okay guys I'm at KCon right now so I don't have time to go into detail on this but in regards to the Jessica thing that has been brought up yet again:

 

Jessica is now an individual artist. She is no longer a part of SNSD. Therefore any new updates should be posted in her artist thread. If anyone wants her updates, follow that thread.

 

It is okay to talk about her and post old things but as she is no longer a member of this group her IG updates, BLANC updates, etc don't need to be posted here. This thread is for news and updates about the current SNSD and that does not include Jessica.

This issue was discussed at length a while ago. It may have been before you joined but you can go back and read the responses. The general consensus was what I already posted above. Just because someone's opinion isn't the same as yours doesn't mean it's being forced on you.

 

You may love OT9 and Jessica and that's fine. But you also have to remember that to some people what Jessica did by throwing the other girls under the bus with her post (and she DID do that regardless of what you choose to believe) brought a lot of hate on them. Not everyone is okay with that. In the end this is the group thread and she is not a part of the group anymore. She has an individual thread for her individual activities. If you want to post old stuff, say you miss her, etc. that's fine. But the point of this thread is to talk about things pertinent to SNSD and Jessica's stuff no longer relates to the group.

Hello SONEs!! I finally back again after finished all things I have to finish 😅 I (finally) graduated from college too last year but what I proud the most is I graduated with thesis that is ABOUT SNSD & SONE (I can give you receipts if you want!!!!) 😭😭😅 don't blame, I love SNSD and SONE so much 😭😭😭😭 I proud because :

✓ I showed SNSD & SONE pictures, events, projects with PowerPoint for presentation in front of everyone especially my professors & teachers.

✓ I told, answered, shared, discussed a lot of stories with some professors & teachers about SNSD & SONE since day 1 I wrote.

✓ I proved them wrong, who said Kpop is bad things & not "selling" / "here" anymore inside & outside my country with SNSD & SONEs as receipts.

✓ I proud many students, staffs, teachers, professors asking me about SNSD & SONE as they curious from the 1st day I offered the title of my thesis, till the final "judgement" day / the day I graduated.

✓ MY TEACHERS + PROFESSORS READ THE WHOLE MY THESIS = THEY KNOW THE LEGENDS SNSD-SONE EXIST & THEY SEE HOW I AM A PROUD SONE WHO LOVE SNSD, GIRLS' GENERATION.

 

overall, I got B+ for my thesis. they interested in my thesis, they even interviewed me about SNSD more than things like what theory I used blah blah that shit~ I know nothing lmao (SNSD really helped me from some strict + killer professors!!). they all asked me why I wrote about SNSD & SONE, I proudly answered "because they are worthy to discuss + many people won't bother reading this whole thesis while learning as this is interesting topic ; both are real example to learn Hallyu Wave & Kpop culture for the least ; I want more people know that Kpop have good sides​ to learn too with at least through SNSD & SONEs". 😇😎 (years ago one of my teacher assistant suddenly discuss about Kpop - SNSD & BLACK OCEAN provide with pics, videos, PowerPoint. I don't know what is his intention BUT roughly, he said Kpop is a bad example of community, communication. fcuk)

Did you prove that SNSD contributed to the recovering economy of S.Korea and influenced it's culture beyond the entertainment industry? I'd also be interested in reading your thesis if it is available in English.

I believe the impact of SNSD to S.Korea and S.E.A. can be equated to the impact of the Beatles in England and the west during their heyday as a group.

Congrats on your graduation and completed thesis. Maybe using your research you could educate fans in a separate appreciation thread, just in time for 10th anniversary of SNSD. Peace.

✓ my thesis is about SONE's Appreciation. the title looks like it's about SONEs in my city/area only. however I wrote a lot about Global SONE's hard work including Soshified (ofc!!), 😅 I originally wrote the common ones already but my teachers asking for more as I shared some stories 😂

✓ I originally wrote about SNSD & Korean economy, brands, products but got cut out a lil bit because it's too long they said so I wrote the main points only 😂 same with what I wrote about how SONEs promoting SNSD & members 😅

✓ my thesis have around 160 pages (originally I wrote even more than 200 pages excluding thesis data).

✓ for SONE's history & descriptions-only (including Soshified ofc), (in the end) there are 12 pages.

✓ the Q&A for respondents (SONEs) I wrote 39 questions, the questions are NOT ALL basic because it's for SONEs only (if I give them basic questions, it will be No Fun & Nothing To Learn for reader + fellow SONEs) ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚😂😘

✓ the Q&A including about their fashion, personality, acting-DJ radio-MC, hairstyle, makeup, fanservices, events, performances, synchronization, harmonization, dance-vocal, achievements, costumes, songs, MVs, albums.

In grad school for an industrial/organizational psych class, I did a talk on LSM and SM's Cultural Technology, highlighting the difference in SNSD songs and marketing from Korea to Japan. It's pretty cool when you can talk about SNSD in school, lol. Pretty sure I still bopped my head when I played a mini-clip of Bad Girl and Galaxy Supernova, heh. I wish I still had that damn slide show...I totally should have uploaded it here.

you should share to us ðŸ˜ðŸ˜˜ do you not have the slide show anymore?? omg you are awesome!!!! 😱 some part in my thesis about SNSD & SM got cut because they said "can you interview them directly?"
