Is Kpop getting boring for anyone else?

I've been actively following and listening to Kpop for years now, but it feels like this past month or two, I've just been losing so much interest in it.

I'm 21, so it's not like I'm all of a sudden a grown-up, because I know people older who attentively still listen to Kpop.

I'm just losing so much interest in my bias groups and other groups I follow and it seems so many groups I used to love have disbanded or broken up one way or another.

For example, BlackPink. I've literally waited for them ever since 2011 when YG first dropped Eunbi's teaser pic. But I'm not even following their activities anymore because they legit have none. As a sane individual, I can only take so much from YG elitisms and I get tired of it. Don't get me wrong, I still love BlackPink and I'll keep an eye out for what they release this October...but I'm not as hyped as I should be..

The only thing about Kpop that's really getting me so excited for is Twice's comeback and 1st year anniversary. And really, the only idol I religiously follow is Sana...and to an extent, my other Twice biases.

Has anyone ever gotten into a funk similar to this?

When you sort of lose interest in the things you love so much? What do you do?

Kpop has given me tremendous amount of joy and happiness for years, and I don't want this to just be the end of it.

If any of you have any advice on what I can possibly do to salvage this or regain my love for this genre once more, I'd love to hear it :)

This happened to me before between 2012 and 2014 and then in 2015 I got back into Kpop. But yeah it's ok if you lose interest and it's also ok if you follow less & less idols. anyway Sana is always fun to follow so you should stay for her :')

No I feel the same way sometimes. I get a little jaded and have an urge to just peace out sometimes but I come back out of habit or boredom tbh. It's okay to take a break and come back. I remember having a kpop "phase" when I was 14-15 and then I sort of "grew out" of it then I came back several years later because something (NCT U) managed to pique my interest. There's nothing wrong with taking a break from a hobby once you tire of it. Some things you naturally grow out of. Like eating cheese sticks and chicken nuggets every lunch time.

maybe youre ready to move on!!

when i lost interest in kpop i moved on to korean r&b, korean indie, and korean hiphop!

I do listen to other Korean acts outside of mainstream kpop occasionally, but they've never given me the same satisfaction as actual kpop

here :

I've given Infinite a chance, their music is just really not my style. I just find it kind of bland, per se

I had this phase a couple of months before, I stopped listening to kpop then. But I naturally went back to enjoy kpop like I used to do. I do agree to some extent that kpop is a little bland for me lately I'm not sure why

As for you, maybe it's time for you to move on or maybe you simply need a break from it so don't put too much pressure on yourself  :)

Thanks

And Sana has become something of importance to me, like some magical force that has bonded me with her lol (not to sound like a creep). But she just has such a special aura that you can't help but be drawn into, imo for me

I will definitely follow her for a long time :)

Thank you for the advice.

I guess it is best to just take a break for a while and let myself come back to it naturally
