Did you know that most of the US presidents since WW1 who started war/bloody conflict against foreign countries were from Democratic party?

Haiti; Vera Cruz occupation, Pancho Villa, World War I: Woodrow Wilson, Democratic; Troops were sent in to stabilize Haiti, Vera Cruz was occupied to prevent ships from Germany delivering guns to the government. Pancho Villa made several attacks on Americans(because he was not recognized as President of Mexico) forcing Wilson to send troops to capture Villa. WWI involvement was the result of Germany violating Neutrality rights.

Nicaragua: Calvin Coolidge, Republican; Like Haiti the objective was stabilization.

World War II: Franklin D. Roosevelt, Democratic; Asked for declaration of war after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Germany and Italy declared war two days later. The US was part of anti-Hitler coalition so it's OK for the history.

Korean war (1950-54): Harry S. Truman, Democrat; North Korea, in violation of a UN treaty, invaded South Korea. Troops were sent to contain communism.

Vietnam War: Lyndon B. Johnson, Democratic; involvement started after two American gunboats were attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin(the reports have now been proven to be falsified.). War crime!

Grenada: Ronald Reagan, Republican; When a Communist government took over the country, it persecuted the American college students studying there.

Panama, Persian Gulf War Operation Restoring Freedom: George HW Bush, Republican; Noriega, leader of Panama was charged with drug traffickingand through Noriega's power, Panama would declare war(Though retaining the Canal is alleged to be the real motive). Persian Gulf War was fought to Liberate Kuwait from Iraq and protect Saudi Arabia from an Invasion(also to protect oil interests). Troops were sent to Somalia to assist in the feeding the hungry after guerrillas shot up UN aid convoys.

Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq: Bill Clinton, Democratic Party; troops were sent to Bosnia to enforce peacekeeping. Yugoslavia was attacked over genocide upon the ethnic Albanians

in Kosovo. Air assaults were done upon Iraq after it failed to comply with UN weapons inspectors.

Afghanistan and Iraq: George W. Bush, Republican; Invasion of Afghanistan was the result of the Taliban ruled government's refusal to hand over Osama bin Laden. Iraq's invasion is still under debate.

Lybia and Syria: Barack Obama (with Hillary Clinton being a State Department head), Democratic Party. Latest war crime by US military machine: air strike on syrian government positions in the city of Deir Ezzor resulted in advancement of ISIS forces.

Somehow some people with little knowledge have this wrong impression that democratic US presidents are less war mongers than republican US residents but the facts prove otherwise. Democratic party of the US is actually the real war party. Even during current presidential race, most of the war hawks and strong US military domination supporters are on Hillary Clinton's (the candidate from Democratic party) side.

It just shows the democratic party is good at using ideas of democracy, liberty and human rights to instigate, provoke wars and conflicts against sovereign countries who the US government is unhappy with. Yet somehow they got away with all those atrocities and war crimes, leaving people with false impression that it's the Republicans (namely G.W.Bush) are the real war party. While it's true that GOP is no less evil, the democrats are the real war mongers. Especially those "democratic war hawks" aka neocons disguised as democrats. The rats who are damaging and harming ideas of democracy and freedom.

While this shouldn't be ignored (especially knowing that the democratic party is bringing another fucking warmonger as their candidate) we should also consider whether the conflicts were helpful or hurtful.

libya, afghan, iraq, syria and other countries are still infested with isis and other forms of terrorist parasites. draw your own conclusion.

What you are seeing here is typical right wing double standards. Democrats that act militarily are accused of being war mongers, but if they choose to deal with things diplomatically they are accused of being soft or weak on defense. And in every one of the cases you mentioned military intervention was warranted under the circumstances with the exceptions of Vietnam and Iraq/Afghanistan.

you do realize that until recently the roles of Republicans and Democrats have basically switched since who can forget that once upon a time the very man who fought for the Emancipation Proclamation wasn't a liberal Democrat but a Republican!

A co-worker told me about that a few months ago. Never knew that and was quite surprised.
