If you've ever learned a language and are familiar with Lang-8 where native speakers can correct your entries, HelloTalk works similarly to that. I think it's even made by the same people who made Lang-8. A Hamster Named Loneliness 3,680 Posted September 16, 2016 Share Posted September 16, 2016 Is it like a ripoff of kakaotalk? no, the purpose of hellotalk is for language learning. you communicate with native speakers of the language you're learning and they learn your native language. like for example, i once had a korean person message me on hellotalk because i mentioned in my profile that i'm a vietnamese-american interested in practicing speaking korean with a native korean and the person who messaged me was interested in learning vietnamese because she had some viet friends or something like that. i never accepted her request to practice language learning with each other though cuz my viet speaking skills suck lmao and plus being a beginner in korean, i didnt know what i would even talk about with her, let alone anyone, so i uninstalled the app after only a day.
