Need Help Looking for New Headphones

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm looking up headphones after my friend bought me a pair of Samsung Level Overs for my birthday yesterday and it got me thinking about how I could actually use a pair of really decent headphones. I've been reading reviews online but its all kind of meshing together, so I was wondering if you music listening people could help me out

Budget- $250~ but I can go a lot higher if the headphones are worth it

Desire- Wireless

Genres- Pop & Shoegaze

The wireless part is causing me a lot of trouble right now because the information on really good pairs of wireless headphones is really sparse? Any help would be great! ^^

I've always had great experiences with Bose headphones. I have the Bose QC35 wireless headphones and they are heavenly. They are worth the 350 dollars, I promise you.

:o What adapter do you use?

You should check Sennheiser. Their products have great reviews with low prices

Its actually funny you should say this because I absentmindedly told my mom I wanted headphones and she got me a pair of HD 598s. They're sitting on my desk right now, unopened because I'm returning them but idk...maybe I should keep them idk

Razer got great stuff, currently got a wired one though but I assume their wireless ones are great too! ^^

Thank you ! I will definitely look into it

Hello, for bluetooth headsets, check Jaybirds freedoms or x2. They are the BEST bluetooth in-ear headphones right now imho.

Next check Sennheiser Urbanite BT 2.0 series or Sennheiser Momentum BT 2.0 Series. They have a dark to warm soundstage so they are more primed to be bassy but controlled at mids at the same time. They are value if you want quality over-ear/on-ear headphones.

And please do find a time and watch the video below before buying, the lineup is somewhat decent but do audition them at your local store before buying.

For what use?

High quality music? > Go wired. Wireless headphones are terrible. You'll need a decent DAC/AMP for hifi build.

For general daily listening? idk, I think all of them are shit tbh.

Sennheiser is one of the best manufacturer of hifi headphones and sound systems. The HD598 is a pretty decent midranged headphone and I urge you to try it. If you want to boost the quality of it, you can try buying a DAC/Amp combo unit like Fiio E07k which will basically give enough impedance to power the headphone to it's nearly full potential. Phones don't give enough power to these headphones and your computer would require a special sound card if you plug it in your pc.

I owned the HD650 and HD700. Both are ridiculously great.

I wish I could just go wired and be done with it, because I'd be spending less money for better quality, but I like to dance. I know, that sounds completely ridiculous but its the biggest thing I needed to consider when getting new headphones.
