Will doing lunges/squats make me gain muscle weight?

I am on an antidepressant right now that I think is causing me to lose some of my appetite. I was already at a healthy weight, but I have lost about 10 pounds in the past 5 or so months. I don't see this as a problem, because I eat whenever I am hungry and I don't try to lose weight. I had a few extra pounds that I have lost, even though it didn't look like it because I have a skinny build. I'm not even as skinny as I was a few years ago, which was when I could eat anything without gaining weight. I am the same height and my body hasn't changed in any other way since then. My BMI is still normal. However, my nutritionist lectures me every time I see her because she thinks I'm "too skinny" and because I lose a few pounds between every appointment. Recently she has told me to drink ensure, which I really don't want to because it will probably make me gain weight. I'm not comfortable with gaining any fat because I used to feel really bad about my body (even with just a few extra pounds) and I never felt confident. I am finally starting to feel better about it now. I was wondering if I did lunges or squats if it would be enough to make me gain a few pounds in muscle so my nutritionist will leave me alone. If it would work, how much would I need to do? If not, what else could I do? Thank you to anyone who answers this.

You should exercise anyway.

Gaining muscle mass usually requires eating enough protein and calories.

1/4 of a lb in muscle a week is a very good rate of muscle gain.  You would also get best results using weights of some kind.

yeah. they will help you gain muscle which will gain you weight. Just make sure you are doing them correctly.

Probably start by doing 2 sets of 15 a few days the first week. Then increase it to 20 the next week. Then the next week increase to 3 sets and do 15. then the next week do 20.

Eating more will help too.

They'll make you gain muscle only if you give your body enough fuel to do so. Otherwise you're just going to keep losing weight because you're not eating enough protein and other key nutrients. If you're worried about gaining fat, get lean meats or other similar protein sources. You also do need carbohydrates (+ water) because these will give you the energy you need to work out. I know it's a struggle to eat when you're on medication like that. Good luck, please take care of your health.

I think your nutritionist is worried because you're losing weight at a constant pace, so while you might be at a good weight right now you're going to be in trouble if you keep losing weight beyond the healthy limits. If all of this is because of antidepressant you might go back to normal once you stop taking them and overcome your depression issues. As for now if you're in a healthy weight and you like how you look right now then you should just focus on maintaining that weight.

Lunges and squats might make you muscles swell a little bit the first days but it would take a while for more permanent results. Still it would be a good idea to try to make some exercise because that should increase your appetite and if you eat the right amount you would surely look better, even if you don't bulk a lot you should look more lean; also physical activity can stimulate you and contribute to make you feel better, like with more energy.
