Even if you can't sing beautiful high note or conveying emotions through songs, as long as you practice a song in your vocal range enough, it's still listenable. Unlike acting where it's really obvious when you are unnatural and uncomfortable in your character. Just a thought. Plus most of these actors only sing to please the fans and create a buzz for their drama, while an idol turn actor will participate in a project which concerned alot of other people.
