I thought since Miyazaki didn't really have a hand in the making of the movie it was considered "less" Studio Ghibli than the other movies. But I guess I'm wrong then

Yeah, Miyazaki isn't the only director, Kaguya was done by Isao Takahata, another resident director who was also the co-founder.
