It's an anime studio that produces movies. They've received many awards and accolades over the years, and have produced (imho) the best animated movies out there, gomen Disney.

 

Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle are the most famous ones, but other Ghibli movies are just as great too.
