I don't know if it was his acting or his aura that made me uncomfortable to be honest. And yup they'll probably break up :\ I think they'll be on again off again for the rest of the drama since she's Young Bin's only real female lead, the other girls are like cameo side pieces or something XD At least maybe we'll get some stronger emotions from them if so. Right now I'm not feeling anything when they're on screen together.  :wth: Where is the chemistry?!

i think i feel their chemistry tho, probably since imma SKJ fan, i can feel those chems between them

Article: Magnets on their lips? 'Entourage' Seo Kang Joon and Sohee's kiss X2

Source: OSEN via Nate

1. [+458, -43] Ugh Ahn Sohee, please stop acting. I'm even speaking informally to you because I'm so pissed off, ugh ã…¡ã…¡

2. [+429, -40] Ah, they don't match at all... and Sohee's acting is unbearable ㅜㅠ

3. [+388, -42] The drama itself is bad but Sohee's honestly such a miscasting too

4. [+36, -4] The drama's such an utter failure that they have nothing to promote but kiss scenes now...

5. [+30, -5] Sohee's acting when they were both fighting.... please at least take some acting lessons before you jump into acting, you're holding the other actors back

6. [+30, -6] Even the kiss scene is awkward...

7. [+25, -3] Just finished watching the episode and Sohee's acting... wow... normally when I see other actors that are bad, I just feel embarrassed for them or laugh but... Sohee's is just... I can't even laugh, I'm sitting there all serious about just how bad it is. I've never cared for Sohee before so I never had a bias going into this but she's really, really bad.

8. [+25, -3] Randomly need to point out that Sohee always has the same hair style. Long black hair.

9. [+24, -5] Why is she so bad? I was so surprised... even a rookie would be better than this. Her face is charming but her acting just ruins everything ã…‹ã…‹ so awkward

10. [+24, -8] How is Kang Joon prettier than her

11. [+23, -5] A round of applause to Seo Kang Joon for being able to focus around her acting... ã…Ž

12. [+22, -5] Sohee's acting is so cringe ㅜㅜ please go take some lessons, it's so awkward

13. [+19, -8] Sohee's so ugly, Seo Kang Joon's way prettier

14. [+18, -2] Seo Kang Joon could be doing so much better, it's ridiculous. This drama just brings out Sohee's ugly facial features and really highlights how bad her acting skills truly are.

15. [+15, -3] Hasn't Sohee been acting for a while now? And she still can't pronounce her words properly? She should just quit acting. It's not like she studied acting super hard, or has more impressive visuals than anyone else... she needs to try harder to bring out her charms if she wants to stay in acting.

There's only 12 episodes? I keep seeing 16 on various sites and 12 on a few more. Is it 12 or 16?

i believe it has 16  :imstupid:

Oh wow, poor SoHee  It's not that her acting is really that bad, in my opinion, but about 30% of young female actresses act the same way since a lot of female drama roles are about characters that are just feminine and sweet and smile when they speak, ya know what I mean? Watching a lot of dramas, it's like you can transplant any actress into the role or put that role in about ten out of 25 dramas and you wouldn't even notice the difference.

I'm sorry for the casts and staffs that the ratings are so low. But I'm not really surprise considering the stories of the usual k-dramas, using the same story over and over again with stereotype characters (that exist only in their fantasies), of course this type of drama won't appeal to them, it seems to be "too" extreme for a change.

K-netz even said it themselves:

2. [+4,905, -154] I knew it was doomed for failure ever since they started throwing those stupid sex jokes

6. [+109, -8] The subject matter itself doesn't appeal to Korea ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Nothing special about the plot either

I read somewhere that korean also whatch occidental series/dramas so it's not the problem. Ok, it might be true, I don't know, BUT was the original Entourage a success in Korea is what I'm wondering. If it was really a success then it means korean don't like this remake, if not then this genre just don't appeal to them because it's too provocative, too different of the fantasy dramas with the same plot they're used too.

i remember when kangjoon got casted for young-bin and believe me i was so against and mad about it because i knew the kind of character young-bin is and how hard it's to relate to him as a viewer.

i would recommend u to watch the original since the writers do a better job at it with the story but vincent chase (youngbin) is pretty much the same. 'the over-laid back dude with his head in the clouds and who gives all the stress to his manager friend to enjoy the aftermath himself'.

[spoilers] the original entourage does give youngbin/vincent much more issues though. he faces movie failures and has a lot of people in the industry ending up hating him for the things he doesn't take responsibility for. he even ends up abusing drugs at one point. but then again the original is eight seasons long and this remake is no longer than 12 puny episodes so we'll probably won't see much of it. or if we do it's probably gonna be rushed and all crammed up and we won't enjoy it at all.

personally i like the original better (even with all the fuckboyish issues involved with it ugh i know). i enjoyed it but to be honest with you i ended up warming to youngbin/vincent until the 4 season. he's just not likable at all and that's a problem with how he's written in the original. lol after all he's supposed to represent mark walhberg's in his youth years so i'm not surprised lo

l.

Now I understand what you meant and it's true that Young Bin's character is really not likeable at all, in fact I just don't care about him. But still, as I already said, what's important for me is if Kang Joon can pull off this character (likeable or not) and it's surely not a hard role but he's doing a good job, so it's ok.

Young Bin is way too selfish and act too childish for me to even like him, it seems like he's just there to create many problems for Eun Gap and Ho jin and that's it...

After 8 episodes I expected a developpment from Young Bin's character, I really love episode 4 (still my favorite) because Young Bin finally fought to be part of the movie he wanted to be in, but then all of this was just so that he can be with some girl he likes.

My expectations were too high for this character...

That being said, the problem (that people don't like) isn't really his role, it's the drama itself but I'm still glad Kang Joon did it. His challenge may not be the role, but this genre of drama. And he said in an interview, recently, that he's happy because though Entourage isn't doing well, he did what he wanted to do in 2016. So that's good.

Episode 7: is indeed pretty good. But I can't imagine most viewers sticking through commercials to watch what happens next. This show doesn't have enough tension and almost doesn't seem to have a plot, you know what I mean? I find myself spacing out during many scenes because there are no stakes. Sure So Hee and Young Bin could get caught, but so what? He's already rich and pretty famous apparently, how bad will it hurt his career? So Hee's reputation might be damaged, but her character's already been in a dating scandal with some other dude and I really care about a penny's worth for her character. She's not someone I'll feel sorry for if she gets hurt at this point, I'm not rooting for the characters to be together, I'm not wishing they would break up either. This show really is good at creating an atmosphere of indifference for these two... (and most of the storyline....)

I agree with you. I can't even be happy for Young Bin to finally be with the girl he likes for many years because, yes he finally has the girl BUT he give so much trouble for others just for his little love story that I just don't care about at all!

Young Bin is annoying, really. I thought he likes acting and movies but all that matters to him is So Hee. After all the trouble he gave for Eun Gap and Ho JIn, how can he act so selfish and quit the movie just because he broke up with her?!!

It's good to love someone this much BUT he is an actor, he can't do whatever he wants without any consequences, he knows that but he just doesn't care. Can't he be a little more professional for a change?!

And So Hee, she clearly doesn't like Young Bin as he like her. It looks more like she broke up with her boyfriend and oh Young Bin liked her since college, it was so obvious but only her didn't want to see it, so since she is lonely why not going out with her long time friend that is head over heels for her.

They seemed to not have the same concept of love/being a couple. Young Bin wants everything from her but she just wants a boyfriend being there for her when she needs him but he isn't her priority.

Young Bin is just pathetic.

I too don't see the chemistry between them, their "love" just seems fake, like an illusion, maybe because So Hee doesn't seem serious about Young Bin.

Well, I just don't care about their love story, that's not important but it's part of the story. I just hope Young Bin will open his eyes and be serious about acting.

On the other hand the only characters I really like, and can relate too, are Eun Gap and Ho Jin. Theyr'e interesting and we can see the developpement of their characters through the episodes. I feel so sorry for them everytime Young Bin makes trouble for them and they still work so hard for him.

If I was Ho jin, I wouldn't want a friend that is so selfish and don't care about the consequences of his actions. Young Bin did say sorry but did he really mean it? It doesn't seems so because right after he's doing what he wants.

I really like Eun Gap, he has a foul mouth and is always sreaming but he likes his job and is doing it well. He also really cares about his familly and others (Young Bin, Ho Jin). I'm so sad for what happened to him, he did so much for his company and collegues but they still backstab him and are ungrateful. But he's a capable man so I'm sure he can start a new company and succeed.

I like the drama but I have to admit I'm quite fed up with the fact that after 8 episodes we still don't know if Young Bin will do this movie or not. It's frustrating, really.

But I'll watch it until the end because I like Eun Gap and Ho Jin :)

i just finished watching Ep.8 & Im so agreed with you, that YB looks pathetic character. eventually...

He should be understand that those acting for sake of work, but yeah like what you just said, he's selfish. AF.

If you cant understand your partner's career then just break up. nuff said  :imstupid:

Love is Need, Understanding & Trust, if not.. just be single.

I also continue watching because of Eun Gab (and even Gwang Soo's character, wondering if he'll succeed at something). His storyline is interesting, even kind of heart wrenching. He was on top in his company, or at least appeared to be, and you can tell he loved his job, now he's been edged out and needs to find a way back in. He thought he had more people on his side than he really did, now he realizes the only actor he had left cares more about himself than his work or Eun Gab's work. When I focus on and pretend Eun Gab's story is the main one, then the drama becomes really good, interesting, and easy to watch.

wow, in love with Ari after one minute. I watched 10 eps of the American Entourage a few years ago and absolutely couldn't stand the main character there either. The Korean Eun Gab version seems to be a bit more serious in comparison to that clip, and also a bit sad (but of course we have to get everything done in 16 eps vs 8 seasons, so of course things would be a bit more serious). But I'm kinda wishing the guy who wrote Salary Man would've written tvn's Entourage after seeing that clip.

  • 3 weeks later...

I love this show so much and it's down to two more episodes. I was apathetic about it around ep 1, hated it around ep 2-3 but started falling for Eun Gab. 4-6 fell for him even harder and began to hate Young Bin even more for being a loser and causing him problems. At this point, I was attached to this drama. Episode 12 and 13 are golden. Young Bin is getting his 'what for' and poor Eun Gab seems to be in a bit of a bind where he is concerned. Looking forward to ep 15 and 16 : )
