I do...

When I was little, I used to dream about talking with this little girl that I had never seen before. Years later, my dad told me that he had always felt a presence in that house, and that the previous owners had lost a daughter around my age and that's why they sold the house.

Also, I had a teacher who taught a student who could see spirits, and she told us a story about how she went with the student to talk to the families of a boy who had passed and was talking to the student. When they were there, she told the family things that she never could have known about them and the boy.

Yea,

And in Mexico you can hear all about them

I choose to be ignorant and say yes with caution, I had lived things that don't fit under any category but paranormal, it's easy to make fun when it didn't happen to you, ignorance is bliss

Can people pleaseee elaborate on why they ~believe~? Stories, please!

Anyway, I tend to go back and forth.

I've had some unexplainable things happen in my life, but, like with dreams, my memory of the event tends to dissipate very quickly with time, and I end up second-guessing myself or forgetting the moment's occurrence all together despite how HUGE, irrational, and terrifying the moment seemed at the time.

I'll tell my most recent "scary story" because it feels the most real to me at this point:

I lived in an old, run-down Australian terrace for five years (up until a few months ago). During those five years NOTHING scary happened, to me or my housemates, and the place had a completely neutral, non-terrifying vibe. Then, randomly, earlier this year, the entire vibe and feeling of the house changed to a heavy and scary one, and within the space of a week, four different people either saw, felt or heard a ghost in the house.

The first instance was me. It was very late at night, and I had been waiting for my housemate to come home when I heard someone unlock the front door and stomp through the downstairs area. I went downstairs to find nobody there. This freaked me out a little, but not overly so. The next morning I went to Japan. I ended up messaging my housemate a few days later to ask how she was doing, and she said, “Me and Eric (her boyfriend) have not been to the house in over a week because we saw a ghost lol.†I hadn’t told her about what I’d heard the last night I was in the house, so her revelation was chilling. I asked for the details. She said that they’d come home and there had been a man in the kitchen who yelled “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!†Her boyfriend saw and heard the man, while my housemate only heard him (they both heard the same thing). They bolted.

While in Japan we received an eviction notice (very random). When I got back we discussed moving, and though we loved the house (it was cheap, in the middle of the Sydney CBD, close to everything, and well loved each other) we were fine with the move at that point because we were quietly too scared to be in the house anymore because of its sudden ominous, oppressive, dark vibe. My housemates kept seeing shadows out of the corners of the eyes; our moods all dropped and we all felt terribly depressed; random things would go missing (especially our keys); we'd heard noises that couldn't be attributed to anything, etc.

On moving out day, it was 4am, I was alone and everyone had already moved out, and the downstairs lights had all been cut off, so I was relying on the lights from the upstairs bedrooms. I was sitting in the middle of the kitchen in the dark, packing up stuff, and I suddenly thought about the ghost and how brave/cool-AF I was for being there alone at 4am in the dark. As soon as I thought this, the smoke alarm goes off. In the five years I’d lived there, not once had it ever gone off out-of-turn, only when someone had burned toast. It was so loud and terrifying. I ran upstairs, checked there was no fire (there wasn’t of course) and left the house and all my stuff and stood on the porch and cried while waiting for a taxi, haha.

We attribute the house's "sudden ghost" to my ex-housemate's new boyfriend. Like, we believe he brought the ghost with him, somehow? (We're all rational people in our twenties btw).

Anyway, pleased to have used up my first post on a ghost story :D
