LMAO! I just finished my law studies, so i get what you mean

my worst time procrastinating was when i had to read those two books and make a 15 pages essay without counting introduction and conclusions

i of course did it all the day before the deadline  :imstupid:

I could never do that!! Did you pull all-nighters then? I'd be way too stressed out to do that lol. Oh, congrats on your diploma!!!

i'm 100% sure the teacher never read them  :ohpressor:  :ohpressor: at least i didn't fail the class

oooh, okay, good luck then, you'll like it, it has a lot of hardships but at the end it's worth it

also, social life + college match, you just need to learn how to handle them both

i was thinking of maybe doing law (i go to uni next year) but people who actually do the degree seem like they're bored the whole way through.. i wanna spend 4-5 years doing something i'm passionate about, not something i'm scraping through just to maybe get a nice payslip at the end.

Eh, it's all a matter of perspective... you can be very passionate about law imo, but I think it's good to have a realistic idea of what studying law entails. There's a lot of stuff that could be found boring by some I guess, and some of it is - you'll have certain subjects you dislike with any education - but for me I really love it honestly. I definitely wouldn't do it just because it'll pay well (sometimes it doesn't).

yeah i guess it's different for everyone!! i'm really glad you enjoy it, i hope my friends who want to do it think so too, but they literally just want to do it for the money... i hope they don't get a nasty shock D:

good luck to you for the rest of your studies!! i might still consider applying to see if my opinion changes throughout the year, but i'll probably just do something involving language seeing as i love it so much ~

Yikes, that sounds really sad tbh :/ I can't imagine suffering through years of studying I don't enjoy...

You too good luck! Languages are really fun, I did a year at a translating and interpreting school and it was so interesting! ^^ Which languages are you interested in?

i'm really interested in french and spanish!! i really want to give gaelic a try, it's a traditional language of where i live and here you can do three subjects in first year, so no better time to try it ~~ i'm quite interested in translating and interpreting so i hope they cover that well!! what languages did you do?

Oooh nice! Especially that you're interested in Gaelic, that's really meaningful :) it's good there are people still interested in learning traditional languages, so they won't be forgotten. That would be a shame. Good luck!

I'm Dutch so I did French and English :) t'was nice! My French is very good now, even saying so myself haha. I learnt more than I did in 6 years of high school.

yeah it's only the really remote parts of scotland that speak it now, but it's not the mother tongue anymore, everyone speaks english... it's sad, but it would be magic to be able to speak it!!

and oh my gosh, your english is so good!!! i'm really hoping i learn tons of french when i go off to university, i'm doing a special project class on it this year so i'm really hoping it will improve my practical skills in speaking the language (i am great at exams, but not so good at the spontaneous speaking...) D:

Let's suffer together  :imstupid:

I have so much reading to do that I should actually finish by tomorrow but that's never happening lol. I feel like a social life + university don't match.

protip: reading case law in is important, but use what general counsels actually use.

practical law, pli, law firm client alerts (via mondaq), etc.

and bar prep materials are also good for learning the basics.

You can expound on exams once you know what IS (vs what should be/how it came to be).
