vocabulary 890
[China News] Netizens praise a renovation worker for squatting on train floor Basically, the post is talking about how a renovation worker chose to squat on the floor despite numerous seats available due to being afraid of soiling the seats. Apparently, people are praising him for that. (I'm on mobile, so I couldn't share the photo... Click the link to see the photo. It's pretty sad-looking if u ask me. http://weibo-go.blogspot.com/2016/08/china-news-renovation-worker-squats-on.html?m=1 ) [5316 likes] [504 shares] [476 comments] Weibo 1. [+110] Go ahead and sit down bravely. What you've done for our society is enough for you to sit. 2. [+98] Because he's afraid some city people will find him dirty. Didn't it happen before? 3. [+96] This dude's body may be filthy, but his heart is clean! I'll give him a like! 4. [+84] All these comments... if he sits, his heart is not clean? You're basically saying it's right for him to squat. 5. [+78] Too much pity is discrimination 6. [+68] You used your two hands to make money, and it's not like you didn't pay the train fare. Don't be afraid of dirtying it, sit when you should. 7. [+43] Not taking photos is the biggest respect you can give him. 8. [+43] Unwilling to see the looks of contempt (from other people). 9. [+41] For him to do that, he must have been despised before. 10. [+31] In China, the good (people) are too good and the bad (people) are too bad. This lad has a very kind heart. 11. [+20] This dude deserves praise. Very good discipline! If everyone is like that, the society will be a playground. (I fucking can't stand the last comment, if u ask me.) http://weibo-go.blogspot.com/2016/08/china-news-renovation-worker-squats-on.html?m=

vocabulary 890
He could instead stand? Dude had a long day of work. His work requires lots of physical exertion. He's prolly exhausted. If he stands, he can't lean on anything as well since he doesn't want to dirty the train. Wouldn't squatting be the next option?

scarlette007 5,232
Do people really think it's okay to take photos of people without their permission and then try to make a social critique on it? How about we treat people, including this man, as a person who had the right to privacy. Mind your own business and let a person who has paid the same fee as you seat or squat wherever they want without your input.
chrystal 1,256
It's common sense to not use the seats if your clothes are dirty to the point that it can transfer to the next person. And I'm sure anyone who says otherwise either do not use public transportation themselves, or have never sat on a seat where - someone has bled through their clothes - someone peed themselves - someone had oil or wet paint on their clothes - some idiot let their kid stand on the seats with shoes on - people from the beach sat down with wet swimsuits under their shorts/beach skirts All of those has happened multiple times to me or to someone while I was with them.
