Eh, true but it's not like AKB's not doing the same thing

???

KFC and flying get basically destroyed all the charts.

Of what? They weren't entitled to that award.

KFC is the most popular song in japan this year.  Why wouldn't they get it is a better question.

physical, digital, and karaoke charts, all great results.  When you have masaharu Fukuyama praise it too, i think that's the nail in the coffin.

It's cute that you think this is based on what sold the most. Let's look at the list of previous winners and put this idea to bed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Record_Award

Nobody said anything about popularity of the acts. You said that because KFC was the biggest song of the year, that it was sure to win. And as I pointed out in the link to the previous winners, this is not the case.

You told me to look at the previous winners.

I did look.

I checked the years which i am familiar with.

And i don't see how the most popular song (not just in sales but also other types of exposures) out of all the nominees did not win...

Ohh so now it's not about sales, hmm...

I don't typically defend people, but yeah Ice was obviously calling it the most popular song and praising it's sales in two different statements.

???

And I agree with him, I do think KFC should have one, nothing against Exile and it's gimmicks (AKB has just as much of those), but KFC had much more of a cultural influence. It was like a dance craze and I think it's overall cultural influence was apparent when you have an ambassador dancing to the song.
