i am DONE with junk food.

i eat junk food on a daily basis, it's not a treat for me. i'm so done with my weight, and about last week i decided to change.

i'm focusing on eating more fruits and veggies and honestly it's only been a few days but i have so much energy, my skin is glowing and my self esteem went up considering the fact that I feel 'cleaner' on the inside now. i can tell my body is finally getting the nutrients it wants.

which got me to think, why do we fill up our bodies with so much unhealthy fats and processed sugar?? i mean..if it was made in a factory with a bunch of machines and chemicals maybe we shouldn't be eating so much of it.

before i get attacked:

1. i'm not vegan, and i dont ever plan to be.

2. i understand in some circumstances where people don't have enough money for example, they will resort to anything to eat. that's a completely different circumstance. i don't mean that in this case, i just mean making healthier choices everyday instead of eating processed food all the time.

I always say that then eat chips the next day lol. Food in the US is so bad. Processed foods, meat/poultry with hormones, high in fat sweets/pastries, unless you go buy non gmo or non treated products which are expensive as all hell, its hard to eat fully clean

I actually changed my diet and started eating more fruits. I even ate a veggie burger and it wasn't half bad.

I pray I keep it up so I can lose some weight, and also clear my skin. I feel like all that junk is causing this lifelong acne battle I have been having and failing miserably at destroying. Plus this muffin top ain't cute

TELL ME SOMETHING. Halal foods are expensive af. I eat beef like once a month cuz the chicken is cheaper

I tried acutane but I break out into a burning rash on my face and look like a poofy Crunch Bar. I'm allergic to the benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid so I avoid stuff like that but i can never find anything that works. I am trying tea tree oil atm

Mostly it’s the cost, it’s a great deal cheaper to buy fast food than it is to buy healthy food. If you’re living on minimum wage with a family and you need to feed them [or be fed by someone in that position] then you get what you can get with the money you have! On top of that it’s “fast†so if you’re busy with school or work and at the end of the day you’re tired as hell then something made quickly by someone else is always preferable to making a whole meal at the end of a long day.

The industry is a mess tbh there are way too many wrong things I can't pinpoint atm

I was raised with a variety of foods, especially fruits and veggies while everyone around me was eating junk food and going to fast food restaurants and after I became vegan I care way more about eating healthier than I used to, I even take vitamins to make sure I'm having everything my body needs.

I'm glad you are being nice to your body by choosing to eat healthier, junk food should not be a habit.

My advice is to also drink lots of water, ditch all the juices if you want to lose weight and have a nice giant cup/bottle of water around you so you can hydrate yourself more often.

good job

i need to start being healthy

but i have no self motivation :( im scared of getting diabetes

Same. Why does good food have to be bad for you? And obviously I know healthy food can taste good too but I love fried food so much even though it's bad for me.

Its not easy to completely leave junk food, for me at least because I eat too much biscuits. After few days of quitting it, my appetite seemed more control instead of constant desire to munch. Still an ongoing process so gonna see how long it'll last. Just gonna to try eating healthily while trying to stay within the budget.
