BABOGIRL 5,414
Hi guys, Since 2014 is coming up, I'm sure a lot of you who will be making New Year's Resolutions will be including something exercise/diet related so I thought we need to have this thread! Here we support each other to make sure we reach our goals. You can post your goals/workout plan/diet/progress or anything fitness related. As well, feel free to ask and give advice to other members. This is for us to make sure that we don't fall off the bandwagon!! *super guilty* Let's motivate one other!!! It's better to do it with others than doing it yourself because you'll be more prone to giving up. It's very easy to feel lazy and demotivated. I'll start. 2013 has been a pretty CRAPPY year for me fitness wise as I got sick A LOT, gained unwanted weight, had a back injury, lost strength, etc. My goals for the new year are: Lose 10lbs Stick to my diet Increase my stamina Get back up to my original working set weight be bikini ready by summer OH, what are your goals? some motivation pics

exoticinspirit 497
I want to loose at least 20 pounds, but 40 would be a lot better. To do so I plan on working my ass off bike riding and dancing, eating less meat and sugar (meat makes me feel bloated and awful for some reason) also months with no meat and no sugar (which doesn't mean fake sugar btw) will be more frequent for me, and trying to be more flexible and doing tons of yoga. I want to tone up and lose a little bit of body fat. I just have to start exercising. the hardest part is starting... once you get the ball rolling, it`ll be hard to stop!! Lose weight, eat healtheir, and stop binge eating. I hope to eat healthier but at the same time still be able to junk food but at moderation. I feel you. It`ll take a while to establish control. I find not having them around seems to be the best approach. If you`re having cravings, opt for a healthier and filling option

I know it is, but I'm sure I can do it, last summer I lost about twenty in a month and that was eating normally. ice cream occasionally and everything. I won't, I'll eat lighter though, kashi flax on months I can have sugar, special K on months I can't, not hard. And for lunches I make salads or plain greek yogurt with fruit and almonds. Dinner is soup or pasta or salad. Easy I just have to stick to that.

Lys_ 147
2013 was a pretty good year for me: - I rode my bike to go to work during summer (10kmx2 per day during 3 months) - I went to crossfit twice a week starting september - Dance practice 4 times a week - I only had minor injuries - I didn't feel any pain from the muscle tear I got in 2012 - I lost 3 kg and gained muscle Goals for 2014: - Same as in 2013 + go to crossfit 3 times a week and do some jogging on week-ends) - Adapt my nutrition (I never eat much but I tend to eat not varied enough stuff, like almost only vegetables for several days and then junk food the next few days...) - I have iron deficiency anemia so dietary changes would be wise + take my medication regularly (at least before exercising, not only once I feel weak) - My Doctor said that I shouldn't loose more weight so I'm going to concentrate on gaining more muscle

I know~ I eat agave once in awhile and fresh fruit adds sweetness, plus the peanut butter I eat has little enough sugar I can eat that too when I'm craving something sweet c:. Things that are naturally sweet I eat, but like things with added sugar (on this diet I can't have anything above 3-5 grams) and fake sugar are no. c:
xXXXXXx 1,252
um i wanna lose about 25-30lbs but get half that back in muscle. does everybody have a calendar that you set all your workouts on? over and over again over the past two years or so ive read studies on the power of visuals during a weight loss journey. for example posting up a picture of your current state and and pictures of the state you want to acheive and how looking at those everyday will help stop you from slacking. another study i read was talking about employees in office jobs gaining weight because they do a lot of sitting and eating. the study showed that when mirrors were put in front of the snack table, employees were less likely to keep returning because of the guilt: everybody knows that they shouldnt keep eating but to see yourself doing it is more powerful. also with any goal keeping track visually in a journal or on a calendar supposedly always helps because you can see your progress. you may feel disappointed and like you have accomplished much but when you can see it, it apparently gives a little motivation boost. i havent tried them because ive been hella lazy this year but you happened to make this thread about a week after i decided to change lol

OMG soo good... I'm obsessed with nut butters LOL i'll post the recipes as this thread progresses, i don't have anything in mind atm *BTW* for sugar craving moments, i highly recommend fat free pudding (mixed with almond milk) or a small dark chocolate square um i wanna lose about 25-30lbs but get half that back in muscle. does everybody have a calendar that you set all your workouts on? over and over again over the past two years or so ive read studies on the power of visuals during a weight loss journey. for example posting up a picture of your current state and and pictures of the state you want to acheive and how looking at those everyday will help stop you from slacking. another study i read was talking about employees in office jobs gaining weight because they do a lot of sitting and eating. the study showed that when mirrors were put in front of the snack table, employees were less likely to keep returning because of the guilt: everybody knows that they shouldnt keep eating but to see yourself doing it is more powerful. also with any goal keeping track visually in a journal or on a calendar supposedly always helps because you can see your progress. you may feel disappointed and like you have accomplished much but when you can see it, it apparently gives a little motivation boost. i havent tried them because ive been hella lazy this year but you happened to make this thread about a week after i decided to change lol i don't, but maybe I should. I'm still trying to figure out what workout I'm gonna do beginning new year's.. if it helps you keep on track, then do it!!! that way you can track your progress also visual progress helps a lot. a lot of people take progress pics monthly. it helps, especially since the scale can be so unreliable sometimes. How I motivate myself: I persuaded other friends to work out with me once a week, so each day of the week I work out with a different person. It's great because first of all it's fun to work out with a friend + if one day I don't feel like exercising, I still do it because I don't want my friend to think that I like him/her less than the friends I'm working out with the other days of the week No I never count calories... Does it help a lot? I don't use a calendar, but it's a good suggestion! I'll try using one after my exams. Btw, thank you for this awesome thread Junko. Counting calories isn't necessary, per say, but it gives you an awareness of what is in a food. There's a difference in the quantity and nutrition from 100 calories of an apple and 100 cals of oreo. Obviously the apple is healthier and way fulfilling. The only time it you really HAVE to is if you're prepping for a competition or something. I know what my maintenance calories are and just try to eyeball my food intake depending on my goal but I'm thinking of doing it again coz i wanna be bikini ready by summer haha. The one negative thing about it though is that people get too anal about it and lose enjoyment on eating because they're too worried about the calories and they feel an immense guilt on a spoonful of cake (been there done that) i agree i dont either. i just try and focus on eating clean. thats actually a really good idea. i would try it....if i had enough friends lol well, i just overdid my hersheys kiss intake -_- right after an unusual snack choice of chips. so odd, i never eat chips just gotta move forward i guess. do better tomorrow. I used to have a workout buddy and it was very motivating, at times I feel lethargic she would push me and i would always end up feeling great. But then she had to move and I tried to do it alone (still do) and I faltered so many times It's one of the reasons I made this thread, I just wanna talk to some people about exercise and diet lol, I've tried converting some friends but -_-

xXXXXXx 1,252
Could I join you guys. Maybe we can share our days of workout and diet here. I lost 4 pounds during my last month of school but haven't gone to the gym yet and I'm starting to gain the few pounds I've lost. Starting to work out again SOON. why not now? actually got my butt up and worked out earlier. gotta love taebo as soon as it turned 12:00 on the first i got up and took some before pics. did good and cut out the cheese and sauce when i made myself some fajitas earlier [lots of lettuce and tomato] then had an ice cream cone [well frozen yogurt actually], which would have been fine, except that like rio224 said up there:new years food everywhere. -_- i had a couple of extra mini cheesecake desserts after. im planning on doing another workout to help burn off the extra calories. I used to have a workout buddy and it was very motivating, at times I feel lethargic she would push me and i would always end up feeling great. But then she had to move and I tried to do it alone (still do) and I faltered so many times It's one of the reasons I made this thread, I just wanna talk to some people about exercise and diet lol, I've tried converting some friends but -_- well if anything ill be here till my weights gone. im tired of years of needing and planning to lose weight just to do nothing. this time its gonna happen.
