Johnny Deep donates Ambers divorce settlement directly to the charity Amber wanted. Amber not impressed.

"Amber Heard publicly pledged to donate her $7million divorce settlement from Johnny Depp to charity.

But the actress' team spoke out against her estranged husband after he made a payment on her behalf - saying he had done so in order to benefit from substantial tax deductions.

Depp would get around half the money back from his taxes if he were to make the payments - something her team were quick to call attention to.

A member of her legal team told DailyMail.com:  'If Johnny wishes to change the settlement agreement, we must insist that he honor the full amount by donating $14million to charity, which after accounting for his tax deduction, is equal to his $7million payment obligation to Amber.'

And they added that not doing so would be a 'transparent' attempt by his legal team to relieve the financial burden on Depp.

Depp previously broke his silence to say he 'deeply respects' Amber for giving away her divorce settlement to charity.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star sent what he said would be the first of 'multiple installments' to Amber's chosen charities, the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union.

A spokesperson for Depp previously told TMZ: 'Ms. Heard's generosity in giving to these wonderful causes is deeply respected.'

However her legal team were unimpressed, saying that Depp had never shown any support for these causes in the past, and also insisting that he made one lump payment.

Meanwhile, Amber previously announced in a statement that she planned to give away all the money she received from Johnny.

She said at the time: 'As reported in the media, the amount received in the divorce was $7 million and $7 million is being donated. This is over and above any funds that I have given away in the past and will continue to give away in the future.

'The donation will be divided equally between the ACLU, with a particular focus to stop violence against women, and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, where I have worked as a volunteer for the past 10 years alongside organisations like the Art of Elysium.

'Over the years, I have seen firsthand how more funding for staffing, better equipment and better medication can make the difference between life or death for a child.

'I know these organisations will put the funds to good use and look forward to continuing to support them in the future. Hopefully, this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most.'

Johnny and Amber split in May and the actress was granted a restraining order after accusing him of domestic abuse.

Amber alleged Johnny threw a phone at her during an argument and insisted there were other instances where he had been violent towards her.

She filed court papers to dismiss her domestic violence case against the actor once they agreed on the settlement."

edit: lol Johnny was smart. if amber got the money and donated she would of gotten some of the money back in tax relifs, but since johnny donated directly for her he can make sure Amber doesnt personally benfit and test wheter she cared about the money. Either way the charity will get the entire 7 million.

Johnny Depp is petty lol but Amber Heard's behavior is so suspicious. If your whole thing was about giving the money to charity why are you so mad about it?

Idk why she's mad. This kinda seems like she was doing it to be given a pat on the back. At least the money was donated to the charity Amber wanted and that is all that should matter. This seems sus on her end. Although Johnny still owes her 7M because the money he donated was his money not her money, he can't control that. So quit being petty and give the money y'all settled on to her

I mean he had no right to do that on her behalf. that's just it, he shouldn't have done that and she's allowed to be upset about that

I'd be mad at him too tbh

He is pretty cheap if i must say. Donate money for settlement for tax reduction? Cheap and selfish ._.

i think it was less about the tax relief and more about publicity/ image reparing .  testing amber who has publicised her  donation whether she truely doesnt care about getting his money.

cause the charity gets the full 7 million either way.

but from ambers reaction she wanted to leave a mark on him atleast.

I honestly don't care about the money/tax redemption-- for me it's that first of all they're now divorced, they reached a settlement that she'd get 7 million (whether she kept it or gave it to charity, I don't care), and that allegedly she's claimed he was abusive. If I was her I'd be entirely uncomfortable with a man I no longer want to interact with donating to charity for me. It's just sort of a dick move and not really cool

Nah..the rich are usually cheap..expecially when it comes to tax..they either avoid it or want a tax reduction..this is clearly the latter..maybe he could feel like by doing this he doesnt have to pay amber+getting his tax reduction..walaaa..2 in one..lmao..and maybe its a publicity stunt for the public to believe that he is doing amber a good deed but we all know that isnt a case considering how shady these two are.
