If we put this into a simpler form-

If EXO is like Big Bang during their peak of popularity, BTS is like 2PM during their peak.

But I don't know a member from the team or their song

No matter how uninterested I am about EXO, I know Baekhyun, Kai or Xiumin and their songs like Growl, Call me baby or Love me right...

I think these days the general popularity of idols have definitely gone down

But during Big Bang and 2PM days even men used to like them too

1. I was surprised when my friend from Morocco said she was BTS fan... Our boys ㅠㅜㅠ

2. Ah, the original post is from "Dotax".. majority of the users are male so it's obvious they aren't interested in boy idols ã…‹ã…‹ Isn't BTS really popular among teenagers?

3. BTS is really popular. EXO and BTS are both popular and they are top stars..

4. BTS is pretty popular among university students too ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

5. This isn't a terribly upsetting post but I think since majority of the users (on Dotax) are male, they would be less interested in boy groups compared to female users.. As people grow older they're less interested in idols and that is the reality ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

ã„´ (same person) I don't think this applies to our boys only unless the group's ultra mega top celebrities. Most of us know one or two of a group's song and maybe their group name... If you aren't interested in a group it's a fact that you don't know about them... Just like how I don't know the names of BEATLES members.

ã„´ I agree. I'm BTS fan too and that's my thought too.

ã„´ Right. Unless you got friends from same fandom around you, they don't really care even if you talk about your favorite idol group.

ã„´ I'm not at all affected by the post ã…Žã…Ž

6. I like their songs from their album...

7.  Yes~ Thank you for your unnecessary interest~!

8. But I saw many fanboys of BTS ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

General popularity....

What BTS did for last 3 years? They just simply marketed as 7 members boy group. Not even one as an actor, solo artists, permanent cast of variety show, model etc etc. Opportunities came late for them.

If we need to compare them with other groups stated above. I can say BTS didn't do much as them to actually catch "general public attention". The result between BTS and those groups, of course different.

But now, they're working on it.

I'm satisfied with their current condition and development. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

My late bloomers Bangtan.

I really like what BigHit did with them, marketing them as a complete unit.

I always found it annoying how one or two members of a group are pushed more than others in the beginning.

There's this misconceptions that they only have international fans but their k-fanbase is actually getting very big, and they must have some casual listeners now too since all their songs since I need u have done pretty decently on charts.

I get frustrated when people say that this is bts peak years. Like no. They just hopped on to the trend stage. By stating that this is their peak year, you're implying that this is as big as they're gonna get. Which I,and most armys at that, will have to disagree on.

Bts peak year is coming, and only then will you know their true power

But it's still nice to see them being called top stars. So proud of how far they've come

Yes. They are growing bigger and bigger. They more popular internationally but their local fans are growing too. I don't understand why people keep saying that they're nugu. And BTS not at their peak time yet. I hope they will have that 'hit song' soon so the haters can stfu.

Everyone knows BTS is popular. Only haters deny it.

If their public recognition was 0, they wouldn't have 600-800k downloads now. Obviously, some public is interested.

It is funny when people keep saying that BTS has 0 public recognition when, in 2016, their songs are in top 4 (stream and download)  among boygroups :stud:

Dunno about that comparison to 2PM but alright. A.D.T.O.Y. is my jaaam so I'll take that as a compliment.

BTS hasn't had a hit song. We're aware. They have a really big K-fandom so oh well.

K-ARMYs' comments are on point.

I wish this guy would've commented on the actual music but, um, welcome?

Agreed. BH is marketing them how they want to, not how they're "supposed to." The important thing is that ARMYs are happy and we clearly are. Encouraging a loyal OT7 fandom chockfull of both domestic and international fangirls and fanboys (who will keep discovering their diverse discography) through quality content is a good recipe for longevity, which is what true fans care about more than numbers. Watching my bias group and biases constantly surprise people is entertaining at least.

Even my music teacher is an Army.

BTS is her laptop wallpaper and you can see Jungkook's pictures in her table, she is also a Jungkook bias.

Music so good even music teachers appreciate them. Thanks for sharing. That's so cute.

They have a huge fanbase and in last and especially this year they are trendy af. They just need a slight breakthrough and they will be 100% on top

naaah forget abput them. For those people no matter how much group is selling, unless they are BB level or have member like Zico, they will never admit, that group has casual listeners

Exactly. And I need u has reached 800k already, that's only 200-250k less than what a hit song sells nowadays. You can't sell nearly a million if some casual listeners weren't interested.

They lack the k-public appeal and a good part of their international fandom is ridiculously annoying. other than that they seem quite popular

Being compared to 2PM in their peak days is actually a huge compliment.
