Captain Multifandom 804
As I have to pick my GCSE's this year (British thing), what is your dream job for the future? If you're already doing that dream job, good for you, but if you are not doing your dream job, and are an adult, I hope you enjoy, or are enjoying, your alternate profession! I think I want to be an English teacher, either in my home country or teach English as a foreign language in South Korea, but I'm still only 13! lunakitten 2,059
Good luck doing GCSEs. What you pick isn't really that important. it's A-Levels that are going to determine what you can and can't do at University.

Captain Multifandom 804
I plan on never working in my whole life. I'm so depressed all the time, I only feel happy when using the computer alone in my apartment. I feel so sad when I go outside into the real world. If I have to work I'll just kill myself instead. I see no point in living if I have to suffer every day. As a person with depression, you can get better! It's gradual, but it truly does go away. Brittany 8,837
My dream job would be to get into paleontology or archaeology. But the job market's tough, and I can't imagine living in countries where these sciences are in high demand. So, I am first going to finish my degree in chemical engineering. It'll supply me with all I need (knowledge, skills), and I'll see how I like it. If I'm not satisfied, I'll just get a degree in geology and settle on being a geoscientist. michael chanson 1,382
aw you're so young. tbt to when I picked my GCSEs, it feels like yesterday, but I just finished my A-Levels this year. Last week I got my results and the university of my dreams confirmed my place, and with a degree from there, I can pretty much do anything that I want. So I'm thinking of going into political journalism, maybe, that would be fun. I'm not really decided on one certain career yet but a lot of doors are open for me now, so I don't have to be. If you don't know what GCSEs to pick... it's completely up to you, but having gone through it all, humanities and languages GCSES will never do you wrong (aka Geography, History, French etc.) They're seen as useful for every subject you might want to study later/any area of work you might want to go into, and a language of any type is a good place to start if you want to be seen as a suitable candidate for teaching abroad in future. Or if you want to do artistic things, Fine Art is the one to take. But what you pick now won't massively impact your future, most places don't look too hard at what GCSE subjects you pick (because they know how young you are when you choose them) and only the top universities care about the grades you get in them. Certain A-Levels require certain GCSEs though so if you have an idea about A-Levels you might want to do at college, see if there's any GCSEs you need to choose now in order for that to be possible. LeeTaeyongsWife 3,748
As someone who just completed their GCSE's this year, I say studying is key! It's great that you already have aspirations as these will motivate you to study and do your best in your GCSE's. All the best for the future, I hope you'll do well! I'm currently at crossroads, deciding between a career in Medicine or Law. So, yeah, it's a pretty tough decision. I guess I'll just have to see how my A levels go before coming to a conclusion on what degree I want to take!
Posy‪ℓuv 3,625
It doesn't really matter what you pick tbh (I was silly and picked media studies which I found really hard and ended up doing maths and science a levels) I just advise you pick a wide selection: double science, a humanity, a language, a creative subject etc that was you keep your options open! tkc123 1,391
you're really young :o don't stress yourself out too much and remember studying is key. Focus on getting good grades bc um don't be like me. Remember to have fun too and to enjoy your teenage years, I never did bc depression ruined me I never really had a dream job and I'm basically just going with the flow. I'm going to study economics @ uni this year and I'll see what happens next. Though all my friends have everything planned out :( Hmm this is really bad advice
