I'm really glad the crew has returned to Korea; I heard so many rumours concerning the actors getting touched inappropriately, esp PBG and his cringing from fans' touch.  Not sure if this was caused by hate towards the Filipinos, which I think not because what would the reason be?, but am relieved this is over.

OMG I want to go so much  :rlytearpls:

Currently, the label is looking into methods of carrying out the event in the best possible way. OU Entertainment also revealed that concerts in countries other than South Korea are also in talks.

Some of 'sthe artists who may be included in the lineup for the OST concert include Gummy, who sang for both 'Descendants of the Sun' and 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, Sung Si Kyung who swept charts with ''Every Moment of You'', JYJ Junsu who lent his voice for "How Can I Love You", Yoon Mi Rae who sang "Always" for 'DOTS', and more.

[Herald Interview] Park Bo-gum opens up on two sides of Lee Young Fresh off his role as an impish prince in ‘Love in the Moonlight,’ Park recalls the fun on set

Actor Song Joong-ki made viewers swoon as a dashing army lieutenant in “Descendants of the Sun†earlier this year, but the latter half of 2016 has seen actor Park Bo-gum stir the hearts of many as Prince Lee Young in “Love in the Moonlight.â€

The historical romance series, which began in August and wrapped up last week on KBS, surpassed the 20 percent viewership mark after just three episodes. Park’s portrayal of an impish Joseon era prince, his gradual transformation into a thoughtful ruler, and the youthful chemistry between Park and his love interest, played by Kim Yoo-jung, had viewers glued to their screens.

But it was a challenge to play a “mischievous†character, Park told reporters at a group interview Wednesday in northern Seoul. Having just returned from vacation with the “Love in the Moonlight†cast in Cebu, Philippines, Park was red-eyed but bright, eagerly reminiscing.

“I thought it was an unexpected character,†Park said of his role. “You would normally expect a prince to be serious, but he was more than that. Outwardly he was very fun-loving, but inwardly he had vast ambitions for his country and cared deeply about his people.â€

Park said he spent hours practicing in front of a mirror and engaging in deep discussions with the show’s director, Kim Sung-yoon, to express that duality.

Acting alongside Kim Yoo-jung, who played Hong Ra-on -- a girl who enters the royal court disguised as a eunuch and eventually falls in love with the prince -- was especially fun, Park said.

“It got to the point where we would burst out laughing just by looking at each other,†he said. “But I learned a lot from (Kim). She’s done lots more period pieces. And she would analyze her scripts really thoroughly and sometimes help me catch on to parts that I missed.â€

The energy and connection between the two were palpable while acting, Park noted. “I felt like we would look into each other’s eyes and know what the other was feeling.â€

The 23-year-old actor had previously starred as a shy genius in the popular drama series “Reply 1988,†which aired until January. He is known for his wholesome image -- always polite, smiling and saying the right things. When questioned on whether the “good boy†image posed a burden to him, Park replied, “Not at all.â€

“If it was something I was trying to force, then that would be hard,†Park said. “But I’m just being me. I don’t think it’s good to interact with people with a certain agenda in mind.â€

Park confessed, however, that he had recently “done something rebellious.â€

“When we were on vacation in the Philippines, (the tour agency) sent us to all these Korean restaurants. I snuck out and went to a local restaurant. I ate my heart out,†Park recalled cheerily.

His squeaky clean image does not hinder him from tackling diverse roles, he added.

“I tried to dig deep into aspects of myself I didn’t even know existed to express (Prince Lee Young’s) mischievousness,†said Park. “People will find that more unexpected, coming from me.â€

Park Bo-gum says 'Love in the Moonlight' was blessing

2016/10/26 18:09

SEOUL, Oct. 26 (Yonhap) -- The star of the hit TV series "Love in the Moonlight" on Wednesday called the drama a "blessing" that boosted his acting and taught him lessons in life.

Park Bo-gum, 23, made the remarks in an interview with reporters a week after the series ended with more than 20 percent viewership, a rate considered high in South Korea.

"I feel like I'll think of 'Love in the Moonlight' even if I see the moon in the sky. It was a blessing to me," the actor said. "The set had such a warm atmosphere that sometimes I asked myself if it's OK to receive so much love."

Park played the male protagonist Crown Prince Lee Yeong, a character that was based on a real prince who ruled the Joseon Dynasty from 1827-1830. In the drama, he portrayed the character with such charm that the actor gained a huge following of female fans.

Park was known for his role as a prodigy Go player in the popular series "Reply 1988" that aired early this year, but "Love in the Moonlight" established him as both a heartthrob and a male lead.

"At first, the more I acted the smaller I felt," he said of the start of the series. "I lacked confidence and was constantly unsure of myself."

Those feelings grew when he held his first practice with actress Kim Yoo-jung, who starred opposite him as the cheeky but adorable woman disguised as a eunuch. Kim, unlike Park, had previously acted in historical dramas.

The producers asked Park to go beyond the arrogant Lee Yeong of the web novel the drama was based on to portray his transition from a reckless crown prince to a sage king.

"It was awkward but it was also a process of pulling up what was inside of me," Park said. "Through this piece I learned a little bit about how to make each line delicious."

He also credited fellow actor Song Joong-ki of the hit series "Descendants of the Sun" with helping him through the difficult times with meals and words of encouragement.

The thespian turned serious as he recalled his vicarious life as a prince inside the palace walls.

"I felt alone and lonely," he said. Aside from a few members of his family, everyone was an enemy and there were few people he could rely on. "On top of being lonely, I also had people to protect, so I felt a heavy sense of responsibility."

The series also made him stricter with himself.

"I learned that I should become more honest and wise in my acting and in my life," he said.

Asked about his favorite line, Park picked the part where he formally introduces himself to Hong Sam-nom (Kim) with the words, "It's Lee Yeong. That's my name."

"I like it because it's where he shows he wants to be friends with Sam-nom," he said.

'I had hard time fitting into Prince role'

20-01(464).jpg

Park Bo-gum says support from staff gave him confidence

Park Bo-gum, the star of recently aired fantasy period drama “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds†and best known for his great personality and killer smile, said he had a hard time adjusting to the role of Crown Prince Yi Young at first.

“When I received the scenario, I had confidence that I could portray the character well. But when I learned the names of the other cast members in the drama, who are for me like the Avengers of veteran actors and actresses, I quickly lost my confidence,†said the 23-old actor during an interview with The Korea Times at a cafe in Seoul, Wednesday.

Through the 18-episode fantasy period drama, dealing with the romance between the prince and his eunuch servant Ra-on, Park has emerged as a national heartthrob for women of all ages, with the crown prince role inspired by Yi Young, also known as Hyomyeong of the late Joseon Kingdom.

Park portrayed the character sometimes as a mischievous and lofty prince but other times with confidence and charisma as well and was credited for the drama’s huge popularity in the post-“Descendents of the Sun†era.

“Moonlight Drawn by Clouds†recorded high TV viewer ratings, with a peak of 23.3 percent which coined the term, “Bo-gum magic.â€

Park said he tried hard to act like a spoiled crown prince.

“The task of portraying spoiled royalty in the first part of the drama was hard for me. When I was monitoring myself, I felt ashamed,†he said. “I should be the one who is fully immersed in the role, and getting viewers engaged in the drama, but I was not. It was my first period drama and I wasn’t accustomed to its vocal tone, the costume style and everything else.â€

He said he received advice from other cast members. For instance, he was advised on the way the traditional hat should be worn to give him a better look, and then he self-monitored his tone, repeatedly listening to his lines and finding his version of Yi Young’s voice.

Some of the scenes including the ones he shot in the government office in the first parts of the drama were re-filmed, he said.

“I couldn’t play with the role. I was kind of locked in myself and didn’t have it under my control to express it freely,†said Park.

â€œIt was from the scene that Lee was trapped in a deep pit, together with Ra-on. It was a really hard scene, but after that I felt that I truly became the crown prince,†he said. “Through the drama, I have learned what diverse expressions a single line can have.â€

Asked about his favorite line, Park said it is “Yi Young. That is my name.â€

“It was the first line, revealing his identity and what he has in his heart, wanting to make friends with Ra-on,†he said.

As for whether there would be any difficulty selecting possible roles in his future career, as the celebrity   actor is known to spend his spare time listening to Christian contemporary music and playing basketball, Park says that it was the opposite.

“I think that it provides more opportunities to bring out another self, something hidden inside me,†he said.
