Hitler as seen by Tumblr: Scary Perspective

I saw it from that perspective whilst learning about it in History. Of course, when I brought it up everyone called me an idiot, the teacher though somewhat understanding - still fervently opposed to the ideal.

People are so vapid nowadays.

I think that they find it interesting to see him as just an old man when he wasn't a dictator but he was with his (to be?) wife. It is interesting with evil and horrible people because around some they must be pleasant and that is what is interesting.

I don't think that they are trying to make him look like a good guy or a nice guy

I saw this on tumblr, and I kind of agreed with some parts. Call me crazy.

Not that he was completely good, but it's true that Hitler had been almost brainwashed himself when he was growing up, so what he thought he was doing, was considered good. I don't believe or agree with Hitler's actions, but you know, it's interesting to see this in another perspective, since everyone hates him. Oh the joys of taking History.

Yeah I read the whole thing on -where it was posted- and saw people saying he wasn't crazy.

But the notion of evil and crazy/insane aren't so far off each other

What the fuck?

==================================================================================================================

People fail to understand that Hitler saw the Jews as the primordial evil. Though to us his actions may have been abolutely horendous, to him it was a genuinely benevolent, if not, a heroic deed. There is absolutely no doubt that the man was psychologically inept, but through his perspective, he was doing a "good" thing.

But these people act like he was mentally retarded. He did not have any problems with brain development and no studies have revealed that there was anything wrong with him genetically in that regard. So I don't see anyway we could pretend that he didn't know he was killing or responsible for the murders of millions of people, especially when he so easily manipulated the Catholic church, a group of many grown men, and Germany, a group of many grown men and women, into doing exactly what he wanted. The man killed the Jews for religious beliefs (he believed that Aryans were the closest things to an omnipotent race and that blacks, Jews and other at-the-time-minorities resulted from that perfect race ruining its blood by mating with animals) and disguised it completely by saying he believed in the Illuminati and that the Jews ran the banks underground and that was why Germany was in such big debts.

People are just looking for another way to look at him so they can say they are more "open-minded" than other people, much like how hipsters listen to shit music all for the sake of saying they're more "diverse" in tastes than the average person. These comments on that Tumblr note have nothing to do with Hitler and everything to do with proving how much more "open-minded" each poster is than the last.

Well, I don't agree with everything that's said, but it's an interesting discussion and they do have a point. Hitler was terrible and hateful, but he was a real person and not a Disney villain caricature. He killed millions for his own power or because he thought they were worth less- or other reasons, and most likely a combination- and that makes him an evil man, but he didn't go around and plan how to become evil. That makes him no better, but it is something to be kept in mind for the future.

Lol. Good point.

This argument could go either way. Either people are trying to prove themselves, or they really do believe Hitler wasn't bad in all sense.

Yes. Psychology (can include religion & philosophy for those two words too which amplifies ->) is a science where you'll find different answers with different theories.

There isn't one answer. And some psychologists do link evil and insanity together, especially in personality disorder kind of cases.
