Asia has increased its share of institutions in a global ranking of the world’s most prestigious universities.

The continent has 18 institutions in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2016, up from 10 last year. Its top performer – Japan’s University of Tokyo â€“ held on to 12th place, while China’s Tsinghua Universityand Peking University leaped eight and 11 places, respectively, to reach 18th and 21st place.

I don't really like these lists because these rankings are not fixed across the board past the top 10. For example, my university is listed as #45 on this site's list but #75 on another (I went to another University of California school that was a few cities away from Berkeley and near Sacramento).

this seems like a us biased list tbh

my school's there tho

Agreed. These lists are way biased. Basically, schools know what criteria the lists depend on and they game the system. All of our rising tuitions go to pay for junk that doesn't improve teaching & learning, but it does move our school up the list. ughhhhh
