How to stop being addicted to spicy food?

My doctor told me to make eating spicy food an extremely rare occasion (but best if I don't eat), because I ate too much and my health is suffering. I used to eat spicy food for every single meal. It's because there was a period of time where I found eating a chore and would eat biscuits for days. In order to solve that problem, I decided to make every meal of mine spicy. Afterwards, I ate a lot. I think eating spicy makes the meal more appetizing. There wasn't a meal where I didn't eat spicy food, yes, breakfast included. Anyway, how do I stop this unhealthy addiction? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

 

Edit: wanna add that it's to the point where I wake up motivated to eat my next spicy meal. Whenever I think of food I think of what spicy meal I should eat. Idk how OTL food seems bland and eating seems like a chore without some spicy aftertaste on my tongue.

I been eating spicy food for years and it does not affect my health and fitness. Lol

I have severe eczema lol and I visited a more "natural" kind of doctor kinda like a naturopath (because I couldn't take steroids anymore). Apparently my liver and kidney is quite damaged. Spicy food also triggers my eczema quite badly. My skin literally bleeds when I wake up.

Ahh I see. I am sorry to hear that. :/

 

Is there other flavor of food you like beside spicy food? If there is, eat that flavor more while cutting down on your intake of spicy food

Ah, I think I'll try to find a flavor to like just like how I liked spicy. (Hope I don't end up "addicted" again.) thank you so much :D I'll try that out~~

I have to cut down on spicy food too thanks to my gastric problems but I like spicy food. Nowaday, I try to reduce my intake of spicy food daily or skip it once in every few days. It's hard  :rlytearpls:
