I won´t hope for much. I can still feel the bitter aftertaste from the rumored KRY album.  

 

Honestly, if he has one he should start putting it in action. Not everyone will wait till he starts doing something. People can get bored easily and just leave the boat for a singer who is actually doing something in the music field.

 

Like ok, I get it .. he is doing musicals (and I´m sooo happy for him), but as an international fan I have no way to see it. And hell, Kyu himself and even SM should know that he has tons of IF. 

To tell you the truth, once in a while I can catch myself thinking .. Why am I still here? For those few OSTs that are thrown my way once or twice in a year? I love him to death, but ...

 

I think him and SM should sit down and think carefully about the next step and he should express what he wants. Not just sit there and accept whatever they throw his way. I really hope that when the time comes, it won´t be an half-assed album, promotions or half-assed MV ...

He IS the reason I keep staying in k-pop, so I expect more from him.

I actually agree with everything. Now would be the time to release solo material, since he's relevant with the public and one of the most popular SJ members. A good way to reach the height of his career. And SM is capable of releasing great stuff, when they actually try. Or maybe he could get sunbae singer-song writers to compose him stuff. But mostly I'm just hoping SM take this thing seriously, because I have no doubt Kyuhyun would.

anyway this is my only rant, so don't take it seriously. i just suddenly reading something on other thread, and i never met anyone that can hateeeee kyu that much(or probably i'm just living in my happy bubble). it just pure hate despite SJ is her fav group. i guess i'm okay seeing the hate for him but going everywhere just to show you hate him is just completely childish.

Hahaha aw I wouldn't let it get to you. I actually think she might be mentally challenged. Girl said it makes her cry, as in literally cry, when people talk about how superior Kyuhyun's vocals are. You'd be flabbergasted if I told you her age.

 

i've hardly ever met anyone who actually hates kyu... O.O except for literally 2 people. i've seen people who may be not so hot on kyu, sure, but they don't go out to bash him or anything.

 

besides, what's there to hate about kyu? it sounds like such a delulu fangirl q. that i honestly can't see what's to hate about him lol, but i really don't quite understand. the few haters i came across didn't elaborate on their reasons. so i'm legit curious about this... where does the hate for him stem from? if it's because he's taking away spotlight from other members, then it's not really a strong, intrinsic reason to hate kyuhyun himself because anyone else who is taking away the spotlight would be hated on as well.

Some people just don't know how to appreciate sheer perfection. /shrugs

So EunHae digital single is coming out and the same people who were angry at the possibility of a Kyuhyun solo album are spazzing out to their hearts' content in main thread / other thread.  I'm glad they have a new single (I own all the EunHae singles that came out) but I wish people would not be so rude in their biasing as to try to keep down other SuJu members' careers for the sake of their own biases --- it's the closest I've come to fighting with ELF and it really makes me angry, those comments, but I just don't say anything since they are in the same fandom and it wouldn't do any good to fight.

 

For the first time I'm not as happy about a EunHae single coming out as I used to be just because of what happened when Kyu solo rumors popped up because I don't feel like celebrating with the same people who put down my number one bias.  

 

I couldn't help but notice the same thing orz. Also funny how like half of the excited comments in the EunHae single thread are from Kyu stans.

Oh, hello. I decided to unlurk, because I was getting really sad seeing these EunHae vs. Kyu comments. I actually haven't seen almost any anti-Kyu solo comments anywhere. The only ones I saw(around one or two) sounded more like a frustration over EunHae not promoting in Korea than anything else. And I thought it was a bit understandable, because EunHae activities were long anticipated and a lot of ELF was praying for them to promote somewhere else than Japan this time and when it really seemed they were gonna stay in Japan only, the rumour about Kyu debuting in Korea caused some bitterness and irrational feeling of unfairness. However I don't think anyone was really against a Kyu solo. Personally I hope to see any activities from any members possible and I would love to see Kyuhyun debuting.

 

I'm Tummy btw. Nice to meet you all. :D Kyuhyun is one of my biases. I would love to see him sing some RnB, good quality ballads and even other genres. His voice is beautiful.

First of all, welcome to the thread. Good thing you broke your lurking status, though it's kinda unfortunate it had to be about something like this.

 

A quick twitter search will tell you otherwise. :p There has been a great deal of ELF who immediately opposed the idea of a Kyuhyun solo debut. I wouldn't be ranting about it if it were just a couple of fans.

Hi everyone

 

This rumour about Kyu going solo... I admit I have mixed feelings because I'm first and foremost an ELF. I will continue to support SJ even if for some reason, Kyu leaves the group (I know some of you will probably choose to leave with him) although I hope the day never comes. I'm happy for him because things are going well for him but in contrast, I do feel for some of the other members who seem to struggle a little more to get project involvements. To a lesser extent, I understand where some of the more extreme Yesung stans are coming from. It's perhaps easier to empathise if you are an SJ stan: you would want the whole group to have good progress and prospects. To leave no one behind, if you get what I mean. I guess I just have to keep the faith that the day will come for every single one of the boys.

 

Wasn't expecting to write an essay but this is what I have to say for not. I hope it doesn't bore or offend any of you.

 

Hello and welcome. <3 That's quite the essay you wrote there, but I enjoyed reading it and caught myself nodding along whilst doing so haha.

 

Re: the last paragraph. The reason I have a hard time sympathising with those Yesung fans is not because I don't see that he hasn't been getting lots of activities. It's mainly because I don't think it's fair for them to expect Kyuhyun to hold back just so they can feel better about their own bias. It's also unreasonable considering how Yesung's currently serving the army. But also their tendency to bring down Kyuhyun to make their bias seem superior is highly off-putting. Despite being more of a Kyu stan than an ELF myself that's something I try not to do. Not like it's needed in order for him to.  

 

This issue be bringing da lurkers out.

I think you guys shouldn't bother too much with all these people against Kyuhyun solo. I know it's not easy to ignore someone saying shit about your oppa, but it's pretty common since he is a popular member and it is impossible to please everyone... Let ppl say, once SM release something official about Kyuhyun's solo I bet the majority will spazz as they never had said a thing. And It's not like Kyuhyun easily won popularity without effort, he did his best to be where he is now... So let's just trust in him as always.

Ugh, I'm so proud of him.  Of all the songs I want Kyu to cover this is on the absolute top of my wishlist:

He's not the first senior to praise his singing and probably won't be the last. I've always considered Kyuhyun to be a singer's singer. While young teens may prefer those who use all sorts of theatrics to convey emotions, colleagues appreciate, probably even envy, the effortless way he executes challenging parts, makes them look like it's a piece of cake, whilst still conveying emotions through his singing. I think it's a very admirable trait and I wouldn't ever want him to retort to cheap acting, with the contorted faces, the crouching etc. That's just not his style.

I wrote this in Eggies' thread and I know some of you feel like he should change his style, but I don't agree. I personally have never had trouble feeling him and I don't know if I'd want him to force himself to do the stuff listed just to cater to young teens. But that's just me ofcourse.

Thanks for the welcome. Honestly I have not been seeing the backlash from Yesung stans that you mentioned. At least on Twitter, not yet. Could be something to do with the people I choose to follow. As for Weibo, there are always some really extreme views coming out from there so I try not to go there too often. I might have underestimated what they have been saying about Kyu's solo plans. Definitely agree with you on that there's nothing that can be done for Yesung since he is in the army. Yesung's voice is better, or Kyu's better... this is a debate that is as old as as the fandom. It all boils down to preferences but it's hard to convince fans who are only fans of Yesung or of Kyu. They even have a term for it in Chinese - 唯饭 (loosely translated, 'only fan of ~').

 

I've seen a bunch and they're not only people I follow. When I said that they bring down Kyuhyun I didn't mean to say that they bring down his singing. But rather that they say things like: he doesn't deserve it, he's already overexposed (gets too many lines in SJ songs already, gets to do variety, musicals) is too awkward, etc. I'm just like, you think he got all that served on a silver platter? And didn't he make clear that the reason he started doing variety is to sing.

 

 

me toooooooooo.... i wrote this before when someone asked about what should he improve, though i admit stage presence is probably what younger audience wants from him and nothing wrong to improve that. but for me his voice is enough. if that stage presence require him to sing like a dying cat  and do all sorts of gimmicks then i better not see it. i always like the calmness when he sing, he made you realize that you don't need to struggle in stage to make people feel the emotion of the song itself.

 

I think he improved his stage presence a lot already, which didn't require for him to do any of that. He improved it by just looking confident on stage. Besides, it's not like he always stands perfectlys still while singing. It's just what he does never looks forced or overdone, like that Those Years performance I posted some pages ago.

I fail to see where is this awkwardness everyone is always talking about not everyone performs in the same way, just because he's often standing still while singing doesn't mean he's awkward.

I also fail to see any awkwardness in his Masquarade performance from IS2 but maybe that's just me (please tell me it's not just me).

They're probably referring to his dancing? I don't detect awkwardness in his singing performances, like at all. Masquerade was perfect, I never encountered anyone who thought he looked awkward, because he didn't. Tbh, all of his IS2 performancs minus his dancing in With You were A+, with little to no awkwardness.
