But watching this made me realise that Kyu leaving the show is probably for the better. He doesn't get that much screentime, when filming it takes so much of his time and effort. Now he can go and invest it into something more favourable. And we all know what that would be.

I have to just say something before I combust.

 

One negative comment about Kyuhyun (NB: Heechul thinks there's a possibility that Troublemaker could be dating) and right away we have some Kyu fan whining about how he should quit RS because the public might turn on him, how the show's not as good anymore, how Kyuhyun's losing his touch. 'It's so hard to be Kyuhyun's fan, woe-is-me...'

 

What are they even talking about? Where was all the concern in the beginning when he actually was being shredded by the netizens on a weekly basis, being called rude and useless and told to fuck off from the show? No one gave a damn cause it was internationally a low profile show and people didn't care enough about Kyuhyun to find out.

 

But now that RS has become known among ifans suddenly everyone's an expert. Well sorry to break it to you sweetcheecks, you're not. No one is since the damn show doesn't get subbed. But if you don't know that now after two years of pure persistence everything is finally going well for him you know nothing at all.

 

Wanting Kyuhyun to quit his job so you don't have to be side-eyed by ifans (because lbr that's what this is really about)? Well fuck you too, you selfish c*nt.

I don't see how ~1~ negative comment, with that number of upvotes could get anyone riled up tbh. I've wanted him to quit the show as well some time ago, because I wanted him to focus on singing, but I kinda came to terms with it. MCing is now part of Kyuhyun, whether we like it or not. And there's no point in whining everytime we see a negative comment about him. There just really isn't. So yeah, I agree.

 

I must add that that NB comment about him is plain stupid and unreasonable. But can't expect much reason from les netizens, now can we?

I guess I was the one who kinda got riled up... Oops.

 

But I do stand by my words. People are jumping on the whole 'Kyuhyun must quit RS before it ruins him' bandwagon without knowing anything about what the guy had to endure to get to this point. Wanting him to quit just because insecure fangirls can't stand him getting flack for the shit he says is selfish imo. And I really really doubt they even watch the damn thing.

 

There obviously are risk involved with his prolonged stay with the show (one being that his singing career might get sidelined) but it is obviously something he wants to keep doing. And Kyuhyun isn't stupid. He is aware of how the show can and does affect his image. In any case I'd be willing to bet that he has a longterm game plan on how he wants to develop his career further. Giving up all his solo activities so he can sit around and wait for 7jib is not it.

Nah, I was referring to those who got upset by the comment itself.

 

But like I said, I see where you're coming from. I've always believed that he indeed does have a plan and I can't wait to see what other things he has in petto.

hahahahahaha i posted that because many of his fans prefer a Chinese album. but i actually really really like him singing in Japanese. but..probably because i like almost all of his Japanese song choice so far ^_^

I'm with you on this. I think the reason many love it when he sings in Mandarin is because his pronunciation is (apparently) really good. But since I don't speak Chinese I don't really notice that, so I go by what I think sounds better, which is Japanese. Like he sang "Snow Flower" in three languages, but I always find myself going back to the Japanese version.

 

 

I think he once mentioned that he prefers to sing in Mandarin over Korean, but I'm not really sure?

I'm not really sure if it's because of the language but my favorite solos of his happen to be in Japanese. I, however, tend to prefer Chinese versions of their songs over Korean ones. Like My All Is In You, Break Down, Perfection.

I can't speak any Asian languages but while I love the songs he has sung in Japanese (Infection being one of the very faves) I love love love the way it sounds when he sings in Mandarin. It's so soft and round and fluid... I wouldn't mind him putting out a Chinese album and even going out for a quick round of promotions as well. I know his conversational Mandarin isn't the awesomest but it's still better than what he could ever do in Japanese.

 

I also really want him to sing Love Again but I always feel a bit guilty about it. I think if ever wanted to sing it live it would have been when he guested at Jung Yeop's concert. But, too personal maybe.

 

I always get these cravings of having him sing all these English hit songs. Like Adele's Rolling in the Deep or Gotye's Somebody I Used to Know. Just to hear how he would do it. And sometimes I fantasize about KRY singing AKB48's Beginner. Don't really know why...

 

Yeah, the lyrics. ;~; But I just really love the song and the studio version already makes me weep, let alone when he actually sings it live.

 

Yes at the Gotye song! Hahahaha this reminds of the time Kyu tweeted to suggest him some songs he could sing for a duet and Ti and I sent him Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Others were Lady Antebellum's Need You Now, which I still want to hear him sing.

 

I can speak Mandarin and I hereby testify that Kyu's Mandarin pronunciation is indeed superb. One of the first SJ songs I fell in love with was SJ-M's "Supergirl", and Kyu's pronunciation blew my mind. If I hadn't already known that he was Korean before I watched it, I would've guessed he was one of the Chinese members lol

 

Since I'm on this topic anyway...

 

 

Ryeowook and Siwon are best at knowing conversational Chinese though, and piecing together phrases, although their pronunciation isn't always on point. Ryeowook because he takes the time to really study the language like crazy (he kept a pinyin journal and everything love his dedication), and Siwon because he has done gigs in China/Taiwan and probably also because he had a tiny tiny advantage over the others, being the closest member to Hangeng (since Heechul isn't in Sj-M).

 

Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Sungmin aren't that great at it, though each of them have surprised me with random phrases before. Subjectively speaking, out of these 3, I feel Eunhyuk puts in a little bit more effort to learn it (or maybe he's just better than the other 2 at putting on a more pleasant expression in front of the camera, because sometimes Donghae and Sungmin look completely blank/zoned out in Chinese variety shows). Eunhyuk and Sungmin are the newer members though... so Donghae, what's your excuse huhhh besides, ofc, your reputation as being the 5 year old kid in SJ

 

 

 

Anyway, these are all just my subjective opinion, feel free to disagree or w/e~

I love to read stuff like this. His pronunciation does seem better than the others', which is why he always nails those tongue twisters.

 

Also, his English pronunciation (when singing) isn't that bad either. KRY sang Silent Night and he did much better than the other two (they messed up so badly omf).

I find it weird how Kyu switches between using good English pronunciation. Like in the KRY concert when they sung Loving You, in the choruses he said "ebery day" and "I can't stop lubbing you" but then at the end he like perfectly goes "love you", like he can say it, he just doesn't.

 

I think he just forgot the lyrics lol But it was funny to see their range of pronunciation, from decent Kyuhyun to okay Ryeowook to lmao Yesung.

Anyway, the last time he showed interest in acting was so long ago so don't see it happening anytime soon.

Whether they think that or not, I reckon it's not even a concern for the show. The "Siwon is better" -meme is an old one on Radio Star and while I sometimes feel bad for Kyuhyun, I do think it serves a purpose. This kind of boasting that Kyuhyun habitually does on RS would turn really off-putting really fast if there wasn't this other force ready to knock him down when he goes too far.

 

It does seem kinda cruel at times but the fact that Kyuhyun doesn't let it get to him, doesn't give up, doesn't lose faith is part of what warmed him to the public as MC Kyu.

 

I guess you're right. It doesn't really bother me but I just think it's kinda unfortunate that they underestimate him to that extent. Nothing serious.
