I have been trying to hold back from fantasising too much about what kind of song I would want Kyuhyun to sing for his 'debut' since… Well you all know the risks: It's not confirmed, we don't know what these digital singles are supposed to be for and finally, it's SM who is if anything, inconsistent.

 

Still, I went shopping today and suddenly I heard Robbie Williams's Feel on the speakers and I got thinking about him. I don't know if you know him but he was in a super popular UK boy band in the 90s. Then he left the group and debuted solo later. They were just a boy band and Robbie Williams was like the least serious of them all, but once he debuted with 'Angels' it was just like an instant 180°. You kinda had to take him seriously cause his song was so good and so genuine, and nothing you would have expected from him. And he became really popular, successful, award-winning, etc. (Then he went a bit soft in the head though).

 

The whole point of this being that it's all about the song. Personally I don't necessarily think Kyuhyun should debut with a full-on traditional ballad. That would be exactly the expected and the same people who write him off as a boring singer could continue to do that and just ignore him. I wouldn't mind him debuting with a song like Feel though. Something that is singing-centered and beautiful but with a nice mid-tempo beat to give it that popular edge.

… I really shouldn't be thinking about this this deeply. But there's no use now. I'll be gutted if this debut doesn't happen. Or if it's actually just another OST.

Not too fond of Robbie Williams' discography but Feel was perfect in every way indeed! I personally would love for him to take the r&b route. A song like Sorry Sorry Answer will be well received by I-fans. Or a song like his duet with Tiffany, he sounded majestic in that one. Koreans seem to be loving them ballads though, so there's that too. I'm not even expecting a whole album, a single will do as long as there's proper promotions. Though that's probably asking for too much already orz.

 

Also, I'm pretty excited for SJ's Treasure Island. I wonder what Mr. Cho prepared for his solo.

I don't like his music on the whole but he certainly has(d) a knack for those emotional ballad-y pop songs like aforementioned Angels and Feel as well as Advertising Space. I liked those.

 

When I think of R&B for Kyu it just all comes back too YYJ. He is after all SM's R&B man. And as much as I like SSA, I think that well has dried up by now. I wouldn't mind a song like EXO's My Lady though. It's been one of my kpop faves this year.

I do enjoy the r&b tracks he composed, like SSA, Before U Go etc. Things only go wrong when he puts his hands into dance songs lol. A song like Shinee's Symptoms would be lovely as well.

 

Yep, I'm also trying not to think about it too much until we get confirmation. Especially that I'm not too fond of the digital singles idea, I would prefer a physical mini-album. But I'll take anything.

 

Forever waiting for a live performance of that.

 

I don't really know myself what I would want his solo debut to be. I definitely wouldn't mind a song like Inoo, that's for sure.

If a digital single means something like Eunhae's Still You with zero hype and promo then I'm probably going get a little butthurt. :/

 

That would be so amazing. He and Tiffany should've performed it instead of the one he did with Seohyun at the SMT concert.

Yeah~ same I was watching all of secret's kyuhyun focused fancams of their title songs and it's not like he's terrible at it. I'm on my phone so I can't embed but there was this one performance in 2010 of boom boom and I was pretty impressed. When he's on stage and doing choreo he knows, he rarely slacks.

When he's doing choreo he does good, I enjoy it too Can I say I enjoy the way he moves, it has it's own charm to it.

 

But seriously that lip touch @ 0:28 needs to go, it was nice the first couple of times, he's doing it in all the photoshoots, now all the stages pls no.

He's definitely not a bad dancer (better than I can ever dream to be). I don't know, I'm no dancing expert, but for me Donghae's dancing is more about the feel, if you know what I mean? I agree that Kyuhyun is good at getting the choreo done properly, but I feel like he could use some of Donghae's feel while Donghae could sometimes use some of Kyuhyun's accuracy lol

I agree, but I guess people expect more from someone with the "main dancer" title than they do from a main vocalist. Donghae is by far the more natural dancer however and I do really enjoy his dancing. Edited December 24, 2013 by Awielie

TT^TT i just went on Secret's fansite and saved all of his pics and he looked so good during Bonamana. I don't like his hairstyle right now because it's not long circa Sorry Sorry and not short like Bonamana. I want him to either grow it out or cut it off.

 

His hair is quite long. Long enough to be styled like in 2009, but they just won't. :(

 

I doubt he's going to cut it short anytime soon. His mom said he was bummed when they cut his hair for SFS.

He's so amazingly watchable in the rap stage, I love everything about it. His moves at around 0:10, his rapping, his confidence, the way he looked (man his legs in those pants).

 

Also loved his solo stage, with him singing to his predebut self. Really touching and he sang so well. <33

 

His notes in My All Is In You got me spazzing omg. I'm so bummed he doesn't sing them in the Chinese version.

 

The nuns performance! I need a clear audio of that one, because despite it being a comical act, I heard some seriously eargasmic vocals.
