K-Drama Laws...I have ONE question

So I only have one question I'm watching Pretty Man right now and it might change in later episodes or it might explain it to me better BUT THE CHILD LAWS?! Can a mother in law just take or do what so ever she please with the daughter in laws kid ?

 

Does the mother HAVE no paternal rights? Why do you still call her mother? She an't no mother

My mom and I were just wondering about this AGAIN while watching Golden Rainbow.  The laws must be different because I can't see these women giving up parental rights only to be kicked out on the street

Well I'm watching it only for IU and Jang Geun Suk but it;s so fucking boring, typical cliche storyline. Anyway, my theory is that the mother probably fucked up big time, that's why her ex-husband and her mother-in-law aren't letting her see her since she caused Mae Tae's mother death, I hope she never sees her child again.

 

And David Choi, I swear to God I knew he was a rich fella the moment I laid eyes upon him and he's even related to Mae Tae omfg. This like Brother vs Brother for IU.

There are no laws in drama land. Gosh even the ones that deal with law (I'm still side eying I hear my voice like f**k) don't even get the law right.

 

Not a rant, but I kept wondering this watching Master's Sun. Is it okay to just leave two kids like that as a parent.

Over the years I've begun to think that average Korean people have no idea what the any of the laws of their own country are tbh
