My (probably) unwanted opinion about the new BI:

Β

Β

Β

I think it is genius, quite honestly.

By introducing this concept of re-branding to their portfolio, anytime the group hits a "wall," especially in terms of the thematic direction the group intends to go, it'll be a lot easier for them. This way, "BTS" may never actually die (outside of disbandment tho). They'll rebrand whenever they outgrow their old concepts. By outgrow, I don't mean no longer being a youth. They're quite cleverly adding more to their theme, encompassing a lot of concepts that would like be difficult to add under the restrictive "boy scouts" direct translation. Sure, they're still Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean but by adding the Beyond The Scene to their collection of names, they've ensured that the themes and concepts they talk about from here on out will safely be covered under the umbrella of what they want the group to stand for.

Β

BTS, from how this re-branding, appears to me as a group that knew from the start what their brand was. It's why when I hear people say that BTS aren't the only group to talk about youth or social issues, I roll my eyes. Sure, they might not have been the first but for all that people think they are "fake deep," they did set themselves apart from other groups by "branding" themselves right from the beginning with a theme or concept embodied in the group's name itself and reflected in the kind of music and message they produce. Beyond The Scene may or may not have been in response to their growing global relevance but the fact that they are even able to connect the name to the theme they debuted with shows a level of far-sight I didn't expect from a Kpop band. Think of it as a novel: the writer knows what he/she wants to write about, knows what milestones must be reached and what turning points might occur and sometimes even the ending. However, he or she doesn't always know the specific details that go into reaching those milestones until they happen. Therefore, he or she must write in such a way that the details won't come across as an ass-pull or completely divorced from the milestones that must be accomplished.

Β

Using this analogy, Big Hit and BTS designed the group to have a certain theme (protecting the youth). For every milestone along they way, they must have a logo (something that symbolizes the reaching of the milestone). While they might not currently know what the ending is going to be, I'd bet they've already set out what the next milestones are going to be be. And when they get there, expect a new logo and re-branding. Thus, ensuring the group doesn't stay stagnant or complacent where they are. After all, the members of the group are growing and maturing as time goes on. Why shouldn't their brand reflect that change? It's like when pop stars come back with a more grown-up, sexy concept intended to tell people they're no longer children. BTS seems to be doing this in a more cohesive way and in a way that won't alienate their target demographic.Β

Can't believe this turned into an essay. If you read till the end, thanks smile.png

Applaud sis

my thoughts exactly

in this way, the hype for everything new from BTS will never die

I mean, the reason why some groups fade awayΒ  is because people get tired of them and that they don't add nothing new to the table so fans turn to newer groups and not all newer groups, just those 2 or 3 groupsΒ  who add something new or impactful

If BTS keeps evolving like this, they will never reach the so-called PEAK

Exactly.

Β

In this era of never-ending groups, a group that wants to reach the top and stay on top must have something that separates them from the rest. That's where a brand comes in. Of course, branding is risky though. Compared to a group that seems more "catch-all," a group that has branded itself in a particular way runs the risk of alienating potential fans outside the particular brand. Here's where I thing BTS did a great job. They targeted the largest demography (as most groups do). However, the difference is that they gave themselves room to expand with the brand they chose. "Youth" will never be a demography that can be defined perfectly. It encompasses so many stages, especially with the Korean definition of youth.Β

Β

I wouldn't be surprised if other groups start debuting with a brand or current groups start marketing themselves a certain way. Branding works. It's a proven fact. You just have to know how to go about it effectively.

Β

It is like a company that gives their groups different concepts and experiments with them,Β  In the end they have their own multicolor image

In BTS case, they have everything, they change from a style to another, from a concept to another

Β the members themselves said that they areΒ  always learning

like damn, they always surprise me how they evolve music-wise by each release,

here bighit must be praised because they areΒ  clever and give room to the members to expand

they do not tighten their grip on them and make them sing or behave in a certain way or stick to a certain concept

just likeΒ  how young peopleΒ  have many ideas and want to try many things, the member are like that

(the same thing can be said in politics, many favour the president to be young not old because he understands best the needs of his people in which the majority are the youth )

and as I said before, what bighit is doing with BTS will be (or currently isΒ  )a required reading for companies

They can still book performers if they want. It would be a great way to formally introduce them to the European market and pave the way for some European tour dates." Source

Β

Β

why do I feel like when the other bigΒ  fandoms hyping up their groups' CB, they are trying to prove something to us, Army, with a Knife in their hands as if we are in Hunger games?

Pressed much, huh?

I've seen people waiting for doube U 1 CB just to steal the hype from BTS, seriously?

let alone the other fandoms?

It's really frustrating

Guys, let's think about this for a moment

Suga is really a genius

We all know that our Suga cannot sing but the thing is that he participates in composition like he did in Suran's Wine which has an amazing melody with parts that flow so well

This means that whatever his part is, it is amazing anyway

Well, the reason why I am mentioning this is that according to my knowledge, composers can sing

At leat in my own culture is which a song's popularity is heavily based on its melody, the composers are well known like celebrities and many of them become singers

Our poor Suga cannot hold a note, so How?

Composing is not just putting Do Ri Mi Fa So La Si together , No, it's all about emotions

So when composing, the composer may need to sing at least internally

Thus, our Suga has an internal and External genius DATA

Just lurking on this thread reading insights is so fun I am learning a lot

Wondering if anyone here is brave enough to make a wild guess what the next concept will be for the next album? Are we gonna see suited and dapper bangtan with black hair?

Realized the Pdogg music and Keone choreo is a formula that really works for them. Keone has made some of their most iconic/legendary moves that will be remembered in the years to come.

Not the slightest idea TBH especially after the rebranding

No one can expect what they will do next and this is the card of bighit, they know how to play it well and how to hype up fans

It's already starting with Namjoon's ch+

So let's rest and wait for our kings

And for the brainstorming, wait until they start releasing hints and puzzles,we're gonna work hard

Btw. soon a situation can occur ... where you might feel down because people will start to shove into your face and try to provoke you.

Sales records can be broken any time and I hope instead of feeling upset, you will accept the fact and mentally prepare for the possible explosion that BTS gonna come back with ;)

I have the feeling that everone is waiting .. and Joon constantly hyping up the new album and it makes me hella giddy~

I'm curious how the US Media that got lowkey interested ... will promote it. It will show, how much impression did BTS leave on them, before leaving the US.

Β

I smell something huge incoming.

Prepare for twelvehitphobia soon Γ’β„’Β₯

You see how they got covered because of a mere logo

So imagine the coverage of their CB

It's going to be insane

out of curiosity, what kind of sound do you guys want to hear from the comeback.

Β

I know a lot of you want that hip hop sound back from the old days, but Β is there anything you want to hear

Anything but following the current trend of trap or tropical or a song with a hard beat dropping in between

I want something different

They say that we are going to see a new bangtan so I trust that.

Ya'll are talking about public friendly songs

Sorry but no, I want BTS to keep doing what they like and not trying to satisfy this and that

Because most of the songs that the public likes suck ass TBH

Also, I've seen non-public friendly songs that top the chart and find success, so yeah

I want them to continue learning and experimenting, If the public likes the song, that's good, If not, they can choke.

Finally, releasing fantastic songs is not enough if BTS wouldn't appear on good popular variety shows

That's how the public will know them. Thus, No matter what they release, It will appeal to the public

Β

Β

Don't tell me that Bang×3 or Fan***tic baby or whatever are public friendly?

Or those boring rap songs by Z***O or whoever are public friendly?

No, these artists are just popular so they release what they want,

I want BTS to be in that level

So they MUST continue what they are doing and not change their identity for the sake of the public
